  1. Seriously, we all have many issues with the military industrial complex... ...but it's also why we're America.
  2. These aren't two random African or Middle East countries having another scrap. This is an American enemy looking to expand its influence and power by invading a sovereign nation. No, we're probably not going to have a boots-on-the-ground war with Russia anytime soon, but they are our enemy, and they obviously have anti-American intentions. Severely weakening them by providing the country being invaded--and who want to resist--with old stock (while we stimulate jobs and the economy by funding new tech) is one of the better investments we've ever made.
  3. I think people think we lose actual money as a country when we handout weapons.
  4. Where do we report this interesting information to our new overlords?
  5. This, this, this. Trump doesn't care about governing or pushing policy (unless it directly helps him). It comes down to who he appoints, who he listens to, and if they basically can get him to do whatever they want.
  6. Yep. I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen in the next 4 years, but I can guarantee that Trump is not going to abandon the military industrial complex. Maybe he'll change where the weapons are being sent based on who made a joke at his expense, but they'll still be moving the merch.
  7. Johnny likes to forget that he was (unfortunately) doxxed, and we know what he looks like.
  8. I probably fit in better on this website. You probably fit in better on texags. It is what it is.
  9. I always love how quickly Pimphand's posts go off the fucking rails. Not an unreasonable position to take. There are rational points to be discussed in there.
  10. I get satisfaction from knowing that every time Macklemore opens his mouth about politics in public--and you know he's the kind of douchebag that does it all the fucking time--everyone just starts saying "uh huh" on tuned out repeat, looking around, checking their phones, tapping their feet, pretending they have a watch on their wrist, just hoping he'll pick up on a single social cue to stop talking. Even those with similar voter patterns walk away saying, "holy shit, what a nutjob." I know a few Macklemores myself.
  11. It's the honeymoon phase. Let people talk and unity and giving you a chance before you, you know, open your mouth.
  12. Guilty as charged.
  13. Listen, I don't want to tell you how to live your life, but, for your sanity, abandon any hope of Trump every "getting what's coming to him." We'll get through this next 4 years, but there's definitely no satisfying conclusion waiting for us.
  14. Whether it was politically smart to pursue and whether suspected criminals, regardless of stature, should be put to trial if the evidence warrants it are two completely separate arguments, you agree?
  15. Is that what I said? Obviously no one is a monolith. I'm talking about bases. You'd agree that non-college educated is his, correct? They break for him at 63%.
  16. Long story short: extreme anxiety, trepidation, and anticipation during election week led to multiple ridiculous thread derails. One was how inflation hasn't hit Chili's as hard as other "fast food" and listing everyone's favorite menu item from the last time the went there a decade ago ensued. Dragging your wife/family on Wednesday to a victory Chili's dinner became the Surly celebration consensus. Then it got way less funny.
  17. I believe there were a couple who felt the need to punish themselves further.
  18. What the fuck is the point of stealing the signs after the election? You'd think they'd want us to have to wear our defeat. But they're not too bright. Thanks for the free trash pickup, I guess.
  19. He. Left. Early. And. Abruptly. You're being ridiculous. Try this thought exercise: imagine what your response would have been had Kamala been struggling through some tough questions (which she did) and her handlers got into Baier's ear and told him she was done, no more questions.
  20. Are you fucking serious right now? You don't consider your team cutting something short and leaving in a rush "walking out"? The fuck is wrong with you? That was the actual interview I was thinking of when I made my initial comment.
  21. Oh, absolutely. It obviously happens on this forum often. Way too often with Twitter. Though, I'd argue the difference between misinformation and disinformation, but I don't want to right now. But, as a whole, who do you think gets closer to the truth/facts of the matter? You'll deflect, but we both know it's not even a fair fight. I'm not a "you have to go to college to be successful/smart" drum beater, but one thing that college does teach is when not to cite a shit source on your term paper. The right's base is more ill-equipped to siphon through the garbage and, as we've seen, often choose to cling to the lie when presented with new information.
  22. I feel like I have to ask you this literally every time we engage: do you even know what you're arguing anymore? Fine, I'll reword: when was the last time Trump sat through an entire combative interview without walking out or his team pulling the plug (not literally) early out of fear of what he'd say next?
  23. Who the fuck is this dude? That is some Hall-of-Fame level white privilege to sit there and casually spell all that out while eating and being recorded with zero fear of getting your ass kicked or your life ruined by the video.
  24. Ohhhhhhh, apologies. Someone from the Trump team cut it short, then he walked out. Thank you for correcting my laissez-faire usage of the word literally.
