  1. All afternoon specials can be improved with nudity.
  2. On flight over to Europe... Shoplifters - quality Japanese film that opens up questions about family. Tanguy - French farce about a son who refuses to move out. Shoplifters was the better movie, but Tanguy was enjoyable.
  3. Texas is predicted to finish last in this early Big 12 predictions article. Awesome. Work your ass off and prove them wrong. https://247sports.com/college/texas/ContentGallery/Big-12-Hoops-Early-Predictions-133131722/
  4. I'll take Robert Horry on my team as a 3 and D guy, although he could be considered a 4 and D guy.
  5. My kid played DA for 3.5 years during HS. He played HS senior year. DA practiced 4 days a week and played 26-30 games a year from Sept-June. This included showcase and playoff games. After playoffs we held tryouts and early August was preseason training. We generally had a two week break for vacations. Christmas was always Disney tourney. And when the Belgian company Double Pass did their assessment each year, then the coach became really engaged. There were limited subs and 45 min. halves. And the attacking players in DA were better than the attackers on college teams from my limited college watching perspective. We paid for travel but not club fees except a small amount comparatively in last two years. The refs were typically better than the local competitive level. The refs at USL summer games seem to suck and it affects the quality of play. DA had video of the games and one season the coach marked up the videos, but I was the only one who watched the marked up videos on my lunch hour at work. Suggested many times to have video sessions and futsal trainings, but it was always pawed off as a good idea and it never happened. A couple of the boys would do pick up futsal with adults after training and would get more in that hour and a half than they would in the training. Just like pick up bball, you had to win to stay on the court. No better motivation.
  6. Agree with points 1&2. If CP and McKennie were here then they'd be in the stands watching. Should have brought in Aaronson and Sands to this team and I don't understand why Ramos didn't use Cerillo in any game.
  7. CDC's a sharp guy. [subjunctive/]If Texas does well next season. And if Shaka moves elsewhere [/subjunctive], then I believe CDC strongly considers Yaklich. Why, because of Yaklich making the defense effective and better. Keys for next year: Offense keep improving with Berry's influence. Ramey becomes the lead guard. Defense improves with Yaklich. What is effect on Hepa and Baker? Team plays hard consistently like they did in the NIT.
  8. US looked like a team of mis-matched parts against Ukraine. Nigeria will be a handful tomorrow, plus they have the nicest uniforms.
  9. US may have its deepest team. Ukraine beat some good teams in Europe. Nigeria did well in Africa and Qatar who knows. US 1/2 favorite v. Ukraine Overall odds to win U20 Nigeria +1200 US +2000 https://www.sportsbettingdime.com/news/soccer/france-favored-to-win-fifa-u-20-world-cup-poland-2019/ Group D Odds Team Odds at Bookmaker USA +220 Nigeria +190 Ukraine +250 Qatar +500 This will be the “Group Of Death.” The USA have won consecutive CONCACAF U-20 championships and have players such as Paris St Germain’s Timothy Weah. Ukraine finished ahead of both England and France when reaching the semifinals of the European U-19 championships last year. Nigeria, runners up in 1980 and 2005, finished fourth in this year’s U-20 African Cup of Nations. Qatar are improving ahead of hosting the 2022 World Cup. Pick: USA
  10. Agree with this. I watched S2 first and while both seasons were funny and weird, I thought season 2 was more funny and season 1 was more weird.
  11. Let's hire Yaklich an assistant since Michigan moved on from him. If something happens to Shaka, then Yaklich can step right in.
  12. Atlantic City - Lancaster can get away with being the same character because it's a great fucking character. Squeezing lemons on Susan Sarandon's breasts, hmmm.
  13. Frears directs, Hornby writes and Pike and O'Dowd act in 10 minute episodes. I like all four so I'm in. It's no Sammi and Rosie Get Laid, but what is?
  14. Lester Freamon was in the movie Bad Education where he contended with the Cornish Liberation Army.
  15. Richard and Mimi Farina - Reflections in a Crystal Wind
  16. Oops. The Zograffi Brothers. Sold cassettes in the mid-80's.
  17. I loved their first album and then in concert in 89 they acted like they were ashamed of it. Deceive Yourself is a great fucking song. Here is my submission: I got in trouble for playing it too much when working at a record store in 1985. We didn't have it in the collection anymore and so they told me to just take it home.
  18. Sutton is in an analyst role for Tech.
  19. So, football has hired former HC's (Fedora, Beaty) to be advisers to the football program. Does Del Conte hire advisers for the basketball program in addition to an assistant coach to replace Horn? And if not, why not?
  20. Funny and clever. Matt Berry is a riot. Gardening at night.
  21. Items to work on. Coleman - quickness, pace and shooting floaters better. Ramey - temper, recognizing picks and shooting. Febres - defensive effort, concentration, driving and shooting. Hepa - lateral quickness, overall quickness, strength and shooting. Sims - concentration, defensive effort and shooting. Jones - health. Liddell - strength and shooting. Mitrou-Long - concentration, intensity and shooting Hamm - defensive skills and ability to make outside shots. Cunningham - quickness and shooting. Baker - strength, quickness and shooting. Jones - shooting. Williams - shooting. Play Hepa and Sims together and Hamm and Baker together, but not Hepa and Baker together unless there is significant improvement in quickness and toughness. How tough and how hard can Texas play next year? They played hard in NIT, can they do that from game 1-40?
  22. Has Texas upped its play in the NIT or are the wins a product of playing lesser teams? Shaka is finally playing a deep roster and it begs the question why Liddell didn't get any minutes during the season. Does Shaka use his deep roster to run at TCU's short roster or does he shrink his roster to those he trusts and again get manipulated by Dixon? Lower quality teams and un-scouted opponents stops with TCU. I think the verdict is in on Smart coaching ability, but with Beard's results the gap has gotten larger between the top of the B12 and Shaka. Shaka can build some momentum with a blasting of TCU, but I doubt that happens.
  23. I think it was this...Texas You're Number One
  24. Watching the game last night and one team was playing chess and the other checkers. Tech has an advisor to Coach Beard by the name of Sean Sutton. Sutton may not have been great as a head coach, but he can coach defense. Why don't we take the sunk money and hire Hoiberg as advisor to Shaka. Have a good season next year and let Shaka move to a Wake Forest type situation and then let Hoiberg slide in as head coach. Win-Win for everybody. Tech also gained two talented grad transfers that have been key, but your broader point that Shaka is a shitty coach still stands.
