  1. it's a combo of that extra helmet padding and that he is really fucking short. RE: the Martin holdout. Jerry (although he never does) should just shut his glory hole. You think a player holding out wants to hear that you cannot pay him because you have to pay another player? Is that logic going to make Zach think, 'OK, i'm cool with another player getting my money. I guess i will head to camp now'? FFS, Jerry.
  2. no pics, but Rodeo Goat was legit. had never been before and stopped by a lunch yesterday. Murder burger (aka chili burger) was fantastic. huge chunks of brisket in the in the chili. Fries were good, but would be better to have thinner cut pieces so they would crisp up more.
  3. just want to come to this thread and vent. Fuck this dude for screwing with sooo many people, families, paychecks, military readiness etc... because he wants to flex on women's reproductive systems and take even more money out of families' pockets that might need to travel because so many of our states are too fucked up to give citizens autonomy over their bodies.
  4. I thought he got busted for bussing in fake 'pubs to Iowa to bolster is his numbers in Iowa
  5. Didn't the Cubs do the same thing and claw some money from the rooftops that had sightlines to the baseball games? I get their point somewhat, but max occupancy * $1500 is straight up extortion.
  6. they should just pull Killer on the air by himself for 5 hours a day until he shatters Norm's ebrake record.
  7. reminds me of my dad's (well grandad's) old JD. towards the end we had to pull start it with the truck every time with my dad bitching my 12yo old ass out for taking off too fast. air up the tires for every run. hydraulics were actually decent and only leaked a bit. eventually some rainwater got in the engine block and froze and that's all she wrote. i want to say it was built in the 50s and lasted 35 years or so. quick web search and this photo looks the most like what i remember The front wheels were definitely closer together than a lot of the other models and you had use the individual rear tire brake to turn. Although it could have been a 4010 which was built in the early 60s.
  8. i mean, i am stupid enough to pay for surly, so there's a chance
  9. no money shot. busy cooking for the non-steak eating members of the family and forgot to snap a pic before digging in. one side had good sear, the other not as deep a sear as i wanted, but i did not want to overcook them as they came sliced thin (about a 1lb each)
  10. i think Trump is actually so repulsed by 'the evangelicals' that he just cannot bring himself to even fake being one for the 2 minutes it would have taken to fabricate an answer to that question of how his faith has grown over the course of his presidency. Even a "Jesus is my copilot. Every day i ask his guidance" would have sent 1000s of those idiots into speaking-in-tongues conniption fits. Trump may be too big a narcissist to admit that another being, even the creator of the universe, could possibly improve upon his life or his plans for the nation that he cannot speak the words out loud. the best he can do is tear gas some people and hold a Bible upside down.
  11. got a group of 4 i am floating the idea to. we have rental booked, but who really wants to deal with that shit
  12. finally cooked these bad boys last weekend. The daughter and i share a birthday and a love of steaks so splurged on some A5 as a 'her' gift. Just pan-seared and finished in oven. Used the drippings the next day for the base of cheese enchilada gravy.
  13. yup, so many things wrong - 'painting' and reaching up from the 2nd step instead of the third step because they did not want to fall that far - instead of sticking their hand out to break fall and trying to turn body to protect head, she grabs the paint tray with both hands to guide the paint at impact - effing tray has hooks to actually fit onto the ladder and not have to be held
  14. listened to this driving home https://www.npr.org/podcasts/478859728/think JULY 20, 2023 Hollywood's shut down. Now what? TV and movie actors have joined Hollywood writers for the biggest strike in four decades. Dominic Patten, senior editor for Deadline, joins host Krys Boyd to discuss the move, which has effectively shut down the industry as negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers broke down. Plus, we'll hear how streaming and A.I. have brought new complications into discussions of fair wages, royalties and studio profits. No idea who Dominic Patten is or if he's a good source, but some interesting talk on a lot of topics.
  15. agree. have to see if Corby ever has to call into the show via OnStar after a bender though
  16. you would be pretty smug too if you were getting the scoop straight from the lizard people
  17. saw it Thursday. thought it was fantastic if a little long. I watched 1-5 (all the MI movies are on Paramount+, which i somehow get through my Amazon Prime membership) and the opening of Fallout prior to seeing the current one. If this does not do well, the studios are going to start slashing budgets because Americans may just be giving less fucks about movies going forward.
  18. i have had 2 SS fridges and not encountered that issue, but have read about it enough with issues concerning the icemaker. i had a super trivial issue with taking apart the shelves around the veggie drawer and was convinced if followed the instructions i would break the entire shelf. said fuck it and put in a service call as it was still under warranty and free. service guy came and out popped the shelf off and i am sure he was giving me this look after leaving the house.
  19. i hate that this thread exists but wish i could splice together and longcat this thread to just detonate on magats that blame Dems/hollywood/LGBT people for all the ills in the world RE: child sexual abuse. Maybe open carry nutjobs could stand outside the doors of a church or religious school and protest sexual abuse where it is more likely to happen.
  20. one thing that has made a difference with my low back pain, which is mostly from sitting in front of a computer all day every day, is just do 1 plank a day for however long you can. after a month, my pain level went down and it does not kill me to stand in place for extended periods of time. i now am mixing in some other core stretches and doing 2-3 planks a day. no sit up or crunches.
  21. tangential, but saw an article that said craft beer festivals are seeing a massive decline as well across the country. there are just too many beers to keep track of even at the local level much less state and regional. i've been homebrewing for 20 years and the Christmas Ale was one the first brews i 'cloned'.
  22. the JW was ~63K per night for a standard room. The Marriott in Bham for the UT/AL game was ~22K per nigh I think I used to save up points and get a suite at the Cosmo about every year but redemption was terrible this year and it was like 260K or something for 2 nights. the Points Guy or similar point blog had a decent write up for Marriott rewards like a month ago, google-fu that and it should find the article. The Waldorf properties are always fun but again, they seem to be gouging you on the redemption amount.
  23. trip booked and tickets purchased. group of 4 staying in birmingham
