  1. Glad to hear the boy is home. My mom was a kid in England when Germany was trying to reduce England to rubble. The juxtaposition of normal life going on with bombs/missiles falling from the sky is insane. Just having heard stories from her, it is ridiculous that we have to convince anyone that this has to be stopped.
  2. As my 2016 Silverado sits at 55k miles, this information does not please me...
  3. I go back to early thoughts (from some), that we needed to treat Putin as a "rational actor", and try to find ways for a peace he would accept. In those early days, many thought Russia's military power was going to overwhelm Ukraine, and we had to somehow do all we could to prevent a human tragedy. We've already failed in that goal. Once it was apparent that the Russian military was not going to just roll over Ukraine, focus shifted to making this crime too expensive to continue - to make the cost/risk not worth the ill-gotten gains for Russia. That hasn't worked either - and continues to cost the lives of Ukraine. It is time for another focus shift. As others have discussed above, Russia's/Putin's end goal has not changed. And the cost does not seem to matter. Whether it is perception, power, people, or natural resources, we are not going to be able to "convince" Russia to change their objective. So now we have to remove their ability to pursue that objective. Accelerate the ongoing destruction of the Russian conventional military force. Remove their capability to invade any more of their neighbors. Send ATACMS. Send more Patriot batteries and more anti-drone systems. Help send more Russian warships to the bottom of the sea. Anything less means (even more) prolonged misery for Ukraine, and a repeat for some other country in a decade or so. I've moved on from "let us be careful not to start WWIII" to "let us make sure Russia can't keep raping it's neighbors".
  4. I feel like this could be the response for all of their screenshots, and a candidate for the title of this whole topic...
  5. Hook 'em!!!
  6. What a glorious fucking day!!
  7. Mostly this: https://www.angrybbq.com/best-dry-rub-for-ribs/, but double the brown sugar and coarse ground pepper (I prefer it over fine). 235 until 160 internal, then wrap and finish at 250.
  8. You guys inspired me on the pork...similar experience as @Butch Had Not: great taste, texture, moisture...would have liked a little darker bark...
  9. Hard to blame him... Hook 'em Bijan!!!
  10. LFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hook'em!!!!!!!!!!
  11. I may well have spent the night with Margot Robbie. Not everything is public.
  12. Dad had a '68 LTD boat that I loved as a kid. 390 cubic inch v8 that drank a gallon of gas if you glanced at it sideways. I thought those hide-away headlights were the coolest thing on the planet. If I ever find myself with piles of cash laying around, I'd love to build a custom cruiser version... (representative pic) Mom, at one time, drove what I'd argue is a candidate for this thread...1978 Pacer, in maroon... (also representative pic)
  13. I always use ghee, but may have to give avocado oil a shot next time...
  14. Brisket should always be the answer. Congrats on the new toy!
  15. hell yeah!!!!
  16. Even our ex-, too-old-to-contribute-anymore, players are scoring...
  17. I'd like to take the money for the service I've promised to provide (so I can eventually retire), but I could get in trouble if I actually deliver it, so...yeah. But thanks for the $!
  18. That all makes a lot of sense. We're looking at building an outdoor space in the hill country in the next couple of years, and I'm always looking for ideas. I think that 3rd side enclosure would make a lot of sense further north, where it can get damn cold outside, but you could probably stay comfortable in that more enclosed area. I hadn't even thought about the leaf/crap accumulation that would come with it. Thanks for sharing, and again, looks great!
  19. Hey @TeeDubya, this looks amazing! Your original sketches included the idea of a low wall & folding windows on that 3rd side...what made you change your mind on that?
  20. Page 1000. Fuck Russia. Fuck Putin. Slava Ukraini!
  21. We have ~12yr old Trex on our back deck, and this bolded part is 100% correct. A pressure wash once a year makes the deck look great...but the railings look like stained styrofoam at this point.
  22. A few thoughts... 1. The FIA needs dedicated stewards and clear rules & penalties. 2. I hate seeing Danny Ric going out like this. He is (or at least was) a good F1 driver, and I hope he can regain that form if/when he gets another seat 3. As a Red Bull fan, I have been rooting for Max. He has an ego (like they all do at that level), but I thought he had grown up some over the last couple of years. Guess I was wrong.
  23. Tell me more about this, please?
  24. I love these standings. Aggy: THE MIGHTY KYLE FIELD!!!!! Scariest place to play in the country! Best homefield advantage in the history of, well, ever!!! World: <checks notes> It says here that this school has the 13th best home record (out of 14) in the SEC...and only Vanderbilt has a *worse* home record. ? edit for probable Jimbo response: Wellwedo.wedo.wehavethebestfansinthecountry.righthere.everysaturday.theycome.theyyell.theysway.andourplayerstheyplay.everydowntheyplay.thisiswhatwedo.theresultissecondtonone.noplacebetter.
