  1. There are virtually zero data points indicating Sarkisian will succeed here. There are a massive shit ton of data points indicating he will not. Of course we all hope that isn’t the case - and perhaps Ewers can be his Vince Young/Cam Newton - but simply saying “we don’t know anything” doesn’t come close to telling the full story.
  2. I've done this dance every year during end of year bonus season since I graduated from law school 7 years ago. Every year I hesitate a bit thinking I'm buying in at the peak, and every year I bite the bullet and dump it in nevertheless. And it just keeps on going up. I buy VOO mostly.
  3. It’s weird how this virus effects people so differently. My wife and I both became symptomatic on the same day (with basically everyone else in New York). I ran 100-101 for 3-4 days, and then was pretty much fine outside of fatigue, taste and some mild shortness of breath. We’re on day 14, and my wife has had 99-100 every single day, and today ran up to 101. Early 30s, good shape, vaxxed and boosted, sleeping a ton, but just can’t seem to shake it. Frustrating.
  4. Dry Cleaning - New Long Leg Vince Staples - Vince Staples The Weather Station - Ignorance Snail Mail - Valentine The War On Drugs - I Don’t Live Here Anymore Parquet Courts - Sympathy for Life That’s all I really got this year
  5. Thanks for starting, I’m in. Thought episode 5 was great. I find myself much more interested in the flashbacks than the “present day”
  6. Certainly possible this is true, but sounds very similar to what I just went through with Covid. Started feeling bad with a fever, took an at home test, negative. Next day feeling worse, got a rapid antigen and a 24 hour PCR, both came back negative. Then had 3 straight days of 101-102 fever. On day 6 fever was back to low grade so I took another rapid antigen, came back positive.
  7. Did you have a stroke while typing this? In any event, quoting you was a mistake
  8. Azor, an excellent slow burn “thriller” set in Argentina in the 80s. Check it out
  9. Or J Edgar, an absolute dog shit movie.
  10. Are these the same friends who predicted a mutiny at A&M heading into the Alabama game?
  11. That’s dope. Here is one closer to the price point you mentioned and also happens to be right here in New York. Ok I’ll stop clogging this thread now https://www.chrono24.com/omega/seamaster-de-ville--id21293140.htm
  12. Comedy Celler for standup. Go for MacDougal street since it’s your first time, but Village Underground is right around the corner and has the same lineup. Now that the old UCB is gone, I don’t know of a good improv place in Manhattan. For jazz, I like Smalls better than Village Vanguard, but both are great. If you can stay up late or score the right types of intoxicants, they have an “open mic” that starts at like 3:00 am where a bunch of nyu kids just take turns jamming. At least they did pre-COVID, I haven’t been since. You should reserve in advance for all of the above.
  13. Thank you. That’s helpful. I really like the yellow gold and smaller face of the old deville’s, so I may keep looking through those
  14. The scene where the president says something like “They want you to look up because they are looking down their noses at you! They want you to be afraid!” was just too fucking spot on to be funny.
  15. I found that the food in Hawaii was generally mediocre, but I had some good cheap meals in some of the divier parts of Honolulu. Three places I remember are Yama’s Fish Market, Palace Saimin and Ethel’s Grill. Ethel’s was a Bourdain place I think.
  16. Also very tempted by this guy, but seems like making a first purchase from the used market isn’t a rationale move https://www.chrono24.com/omega/seamaster-deville-automatic-18k-gold-34mm-black-leather-strap--id19975152.htm
  17. I think OP has it right, but I’ll throw this in for fun
  18. The last three LSU coaches won a national championship. Two of those three were certifiable morons. Brian Kelly isn’t a “fit” at LSU but he sure as shit is a better football coach than Les Miles and Orgeron. I’m not betting against them.
  19. Thanks for all the recs. Will report back
  20. Read the last 20 or so pages on this thread, plus some sniffing around reddit and other sites. I'm looking for some advice on a first dress watch. From an appearance perspective, I want something that is classic, simple, not flashy or large, but that I will know is high quality. I work in a fairly formal environment in New York (or at least we were suits everyday pre-pandemic; we'll see). I don't really want to spend more than a few grand. After doing research, the below are the three that I keep circling back to at three different price points. Anything that I am obviously missing based on this description? Omega De Ville Longines Flagship Hamilton Jazzmaster (except I would prefer a black strap) I also really like this one, but I think I am going to pass on that price for a first watch. Welcome any thoughts, thanks in advance.
  21. It’s 10 days from first symptoms + 24 hours with no fever, is that right? I’m on day 10 and 72 hours past my last fever. Still shortness of breath and taste very muted, but otherwise feeling a ton better.
  22. Read past this post and legit thought I clicked on the Daily Texan thread. Holy shit balls. Be honest, do you get a migraine from calculating the tip on your weekly Applebees venture?
  23. I admittedly stopped paying attention after Baylor for the sake my health, but at the time I thought Ojomo and Cook were our “best” players on defense.
