  1. Negative Ghost Rider. I'm 190 lbs of twisted steel. That Oreo will be burned off with two seconds of karate moves in my home dojo. I'm a kick ass guy IRL, just ask my super cool friends.
  2. Nabisco can kiss my ass. Saw some Double Stuffed Oreos in the cabinet - yes please. I had to do a double take on the packaging after taking a bite, could have sworn it was just a regular Oreo. Nope those cheap fuckers have whittled down the white cream over the years so what used to be a double is now really a single from 20 years ago. I wanted the real thing so took apart two and mashed them together. Left my double stuffed, right the bullshit marketing double stuff.
  3. Recently back from Bryce and Escalante. Did something different this year and rented E bikes and skipped the shuttles. So much nicer to cruise around outside with limited peddling. Never got tired and could hike any trail we wanted. If we did could always put it on the rack of the shuttle and hop on. (You Zion folks might want to look into this and skip the shitshow that is the base shuttle stop.) No bikes in Escalante, too spread out. And you'll need high clearance SUV for all the BLM roads. Lots of cool slot canyons. We got shut out of a few due to thunderstorms; have no interest in drowning. That's a truck from the 1950s stuck up top. Poor bastards.

I said excuuuuuusse me. Always tought that was probably a true story of some kind. He was an alcoholic and violent, but probably knew when to run when facing down a barrel.

MIx in this (tailor it to what you can do at first, then work your way up) with some walking/hiking and some low impact treadmill work. Cutting way back on carbs and calories for a few months and you'll see progress. Meant to post in the body transformation thread but never got around to it. Did this for most of the lockdown and lost 20 lbs, but I figure I probably gained 5-10 lbs of muscle, so it was, indeed, transforming. (I still drank during that time, but tried to keep it within reason).

QFT Ironworks used to have an all-you-can-eat beef rib special during random weekday lunches. It was surreal to wake up at night after barely making it home and passing out. Re: Panchos, their sopapillas still hold a warm, honey filled space in my 10 year old heart.
  7. Went to Disneyland and CA Adventure last week, stayed at Grand Californian. Some notes for those going soon: (But first an observation: holy shit, the number of morbidly obese people in this country, including children. I weep for our future.) No early entrance for on site hotel guests. Everyone in at the same time, though we did notice they tended to open the gates early, say 8:30, 8:45. Everyone goes straight to Indiana Jones open entering; don't be that person. Bounce around and go to Pirates of Caribbean, circle back to Jones toward the end of the day (it breaks down all the time, keep an eye on it and you might get in quick upon a reopening). Longest wait was for Cars at CA Adventure, 45 minutes. Everything else averaged about 20 and moved pretty quick. The virtual queue - don't fuck around with it. You've got 2 or 3 seconds max to get a spot or you're toast. On the app hit 'virtual queues' and you'll be on the "Join Boarding Group" page - STAY ON THAT. Do not go to the next page where the actual queues are shown, they do not refresh automatically when the clock strikes 7 or 12. When the clock on you phone hits 7 IMMEDIATELY hit Join Boarding Group. Next page is "Join Queue" I think, and it shows either Star Wars or Web Slingers, then another page with "Confirm Guests" (it reads the tickets that are attached to your Disney account). Sit in a comfortable place, block out any distractions (especially avoid eye contact with your kids, as they will appear to be ready to cry or scream with joy depending on how slow or fast you are). There may be a website that helps you with finger poking speed and agility; if so, do that. Again, once it hits 7 or 12, MOVE. Like a 14 year old fap, it's over in nanoseconds. The crowd around you will either scream and clap like insane people, or scream FUCK! You think I'm joking? Just wait. Rise of the Resistance is probably the best ride/experience I've ever been on. Good on you Imagineering. Avengers Web Slingers, however, is lame as shit. I award you no points. If you can get a slot on the virtual queue go for it, but honestly it was not even close to being worth waiting until 6;30 at night (our time slot) and then another 45 once you actually get in line. All the sit down restaurants were booked so all we had was quick serve, which was fine. You do have to order your food an hour or two in advance in the popular areas like Avengers or Star Wars. Beer and drinks have to be preordered too, but I found that if I had an order to be ready at say, 2, and showed up at 1:30, they just poured it and sent me on my way. Over my life I've been to Disney about half a dozen times, and I never knew you could actually go into Snow White's castle. Well, you can. It's pedestrian, but a first for me.
  8. Make sure the two pieces of metal are tightly together. This tool helped. https://www.amazon.com/Fastener-Temporary-Welders-Repair-K6S10-3/dp/B086VTKCKM
  9. Safari 12.1.2. Restarting the desktop seems to have fixed it
  10. I still can't react to a post beyond the first three emojis. Once I move beyond that with the mouse the list collapses and I'm left with hook em and the other two I rarely use. I'm someone who likes to express himself with flair, so this limitation vexes me. In other words I PAY FOR THIS SHIT AND I DEMAND SATISFACTION. J/K there are some post from assholes not affiliated with UT and I'd like to use other emojis.
  11. Teenage daughter a little down in the dumps, so I offered to take her somewhere fun. FML she chose Disneyland. Did I despair? No I did not, I called a family friend who happens to be a Club 33 member and voila, we are going next week for two days. I had visions of sitting at the Star Wars bar while she got her ride on, but nope, everything sit down is booked. Not sure if I can get into the Club 33 lounge yet. Been a long time since I took them as young uns, so I'll have to read throught the thread and do some strategery.
  12. I went to a DoD high school that was really mixed, so the segregation of all social life at SWT (including frats) was kind of a shock in the late 80s early 90s. And I say segregation on purpose, because I think very few of the dudes in my frat were racist. (They were equal opportunity assholes; kind of like Surly). But there seemed to be an instilled culture of segregation. I asked an older bro what was the deal, and he said something to the effect of they have their frats we have ours, and kind of shrugged. I brought a black buddy of mine to a party and he hauled ass after 10 minutes. No one said or did anything, he just wasn't comfortable, peace out. I was like WTF? In retrospect I was just naive, but it was pretty foreign to me, the whole segregated social thing. And disappointing.
  13. When KD hit the shot from 5 feet beyond the arc with time running out I reflexively yelled HOLY SHIT. My kids came down, "what happened, are you ok?" My son asked if I was a Brooklyn fan. I said no, I'm a Kevin Durant fan.
  14. I thought it was really good. Are we to assume from the ending there's going to be a part 3? I didn't really think about this until after I left the theater, but
  15. The episodes for this show are way too short. I find myself getting a little pissed because I like it so much. I'd be fine with short episodes as long as there were twice as many.
  16. I think it really ties the room together.
  17. I'm mildly concerned about my boy Danny Ric. I'm hoping he just needs time to adjust to his new car. He had this to say post Q: “It’s more confusing than frustrating at the moment, that’s the emotion I'm feeling. There were some laps that, for sure, were a bit messy which explained maybe a couple of tenths. Since Thursday we’ve made some progress and this was continuing throughout qualifying with each run. I had to stop at the scales towards the end of Q2, so we didn’t have the tyres as we wanted which put us on the back foot a little bit for the final run. “Usually, you can feel when you’re a bit off the pace, but I haven’t had that, and I don’t feel like I've forgotten how to drive this track. I’m still getting up to speed with the driving style needed to get the maximum out of this car, and maybe that’s amplified here in Monaco. But, we know what we need to work on and we’ll keep pushing for the race tomorrow.” I don't recall anything said about this scales issue on the coverage, so I did some googling and came across Vettel's hissy fit in Brazil. You F1 vets know all this shit, but the weighbridge was a new thing for me.
  18. Forgot to circle back on this- Mullet, I've seen this kind of post before and my thought is always: that same thing could be said about a majority of posts on this thread and others on this site. But I look at it as doing my share to add some entertaining content, as others do on a daily basis. It's the only reason I come back (to read interesting and entertaining content).
  19. This is the first season I've added the practice runs to my watch list. Those are much more informative and interesting than expected. The announcers go into a lot of detailed background on the teams and drivers, talk rumors and strategy etc. I assume they just don't have time to get into that stuff during qualifying and race day. Anyway you Netflix newbies (like me) ought to check them out, helps flesh out everything going on behind the scenes.
  20. (raises hand) That is correct, a prototype was indeed made and a silly brand name given. However it was so improbable to actually function as intended (it actually had moving parts) it was quietly buried in our Closet of Once Great Ideas, alongside the oven mit coated with hand lotion and the Eskimo diamond mine adventure. (I'm happy to report she pivoted to a good, successful venture, but that isn't funny and doesn't fit this thread, so forget it.)
  21. Same here. Mine stopped when it was 17-14 and I thought, that's probably how it ended, SH won't let them score again. Nope. Just fucking missed the best part of the game.
