  1. Thanks for posting that. Scottie’s voice hasn’t even dropped yet. I’d love to see Will stay healthy.
  2. I believe each successive day brings more outlandish antisocial behavior. It’s as if they are beating us with a proverbial meat tenderizer, just methodically loosening us up.
  3. Same here, man. Same here.
  4. I am also particularly vexed by that whole event. I’m surprised at the depth of my feelings. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.voanews.com/amp/us-european-commission-affirm-commitment-to-deter-putin/6501272.html That young man in the photo rising from his chair to greet the COC is my son, and this photo was taken within 24 hours of my own father’s military funeral. In fact, I was at the dias glancing at the back of the sanctuary until the last possible minute, hoping that the CG of the 82nd had approved his request for emergency leave and that he would appear just in time for the ceremony. 2 weeks ago at Ft. Liberty (Bragg) I pinned railroad tracks to his headgear in front of his colleagues and the brigade commander. You can see the kid’s resemblance to his grandfather at 5:50 of this video. Fuck J.D. Vance and tfg. Has anyone else already started mentally scripting their reaction and relief when orange man is finally gone? I’m thinking of taking a break from the internet.
  5. The cruelty and outrage is a feature not a bug. It’s cosplay. I imagine myself campaigning, seeing that come up on the prompter, and I break character, laugh, and say she can go to (looks around mischievously) heck!
  6. PSA - remind your customers that when moving, they should always double check their previous residence’s insurance policies are cancelled. I know it’s obvious but I apparently I did not follow up, and now I’m waiting for USAA and TWIA to issue refund checks back to my closing date.
  7. Hi mom begged him for a cup of clean piss, and he refused. Allegedly on principle, but he knew he was pissing hot as well. Page 130
  8. Secretary of Phrenology- he’s a natural fit for that position.
  9. Hey, what happened to Lobo? Did he go out in a blaze of glory, or just disappear? I searched but can’t find anything, thus on topic.
  10. No, an annual Trinity Industries customer appreciation weekend over at Hackberry Rod and Gun club. Specks and Reds in the morning, doves in the late afternoon. Mark Stiles began his career in the cement business showing up on my dad’s job site with a cooler full of beer at quitting time. “How many yards you need next week?”
  11. @briskettexan warms my heart you saw Hightower. Labor Day 1989 he, I and a group of state congressmen/judges got “stung” by federal game wardens for shooting doves over an allegedly baited field over in Hackberry. That was the day I saw Mark Stiles try to kick Terry Schaunessy’s ass. Edit - delete post, ban user. Wrong Hightower. I’m thinking of Allen.
  12. What a tool. That statement alone is so idiotic. “Oooh a free speech platform!!” (Used to make people suffer and die) (Founder gets compromised, starts looking for the ripcord) “Grumble grumble but freedommm” Pretty sure the right to not get shelled or your children blown up at school supersedes the right to assemble and communicate.
  13. A recovered addict and former prostitute named Shannae baked my first sobriety anniversary birthday cake in her easy bake oven. She had legs like Tina Turner and I had no idea that she even knew my name. When she presented it to me in front of several dozen people I cried like a baby, and that was the most delicious cake I’ve ever eaten. I’ll cherish that memory til my dying days, though it’s been a few years since I’ve seen her. She also made one for my buddy Charlie (Sawbonz knew him) RIP, he died from Covid. Also - because I crack myself up - I’m gen X but half of me did a year in ‘Nam - couldn’t see shit though.
  14. Woke up this morning with unlimited options and absolute freedom. I have a day to myself before getting back on a plane and going to work. Decided to attend a morning meeting, where I saw a dozen people with around 40 years continuous sobriety that helped me get sober back in 2011, sprinkled in with a few newcomers. Old habits die hard - I remember my first weeks of sobriety when this guy would walk into the meeting and share his quiet, calm confident demeanor and I would immediately think “thank goodness this guy showed up, we finally have some adult supervision in the room.” He showed up today and that popped into my mind, and my hope is that 20 years from now I have the same reaction. For anyone struggling, we really are here to help - because though it’s been a while since I had a morning like yours, I’m not immune to ending up right back in that place. I’m going to go eat an omelette, take a boat ride, catch a redfish, take a nap, and pack for my trip. Hope y’all have a swell day.
  15. Racist or no?
  16. Very cool. And strategic - way to preserve a reason to return.
  17. Weird flex, man. Just weird.
  18. No. Remember, I tried to help him out when he got out of prison, spent many hours with him. Dropping him off at the greyhound station, taking him to recovery meetings. Finally cut ties for good when he called “just to talk” and ended up begging me to cover his bar tab that he couldn’t pay.
  19. I’m a David Muir man, myself. I call him my pretty Walter Cronkite. I’ve never wanted to suck another guy’s dick but damn, man, he has total BDE. Plus Trump hates ABC so I have to watch.
  20. One of my favorites is “The geology of the Big Thicket.” During the last ice age, the gulf coast was at Woodville.
  21. I was hoping. So when does it happen? October surprise?
  22. No, but her sitting on his lap, them with their arms around each other, her looking into his eyes with pure bliss. He was a tennis player, solid dude. Didn’t kiss and tell but he acknowledged that he had been to a place of many men’s dreams.
  23. Here ya go. The playlist.
