I might try that line on the wife tonight.
  2. That's the brake sensor light. Indicates proportioning valve being tripped due to loss of fluid in front or rear. Nothing going into the manifold.
  3. Depeche Mode tonight at the Moody Center.
  4. I wasn't able to pick those out until you mentioned them. My grandmother was a florist at the TG&Y located in the Ranch Acres Shopping Center at 31st and Harvard. My parents and grandparents were from that area of Tulsa.
  5. Leroy & Lewis is probably the best in the industry for using everything. Here's a video of the L&L brisket yield test:
  6. Of course you are. I saw your daughter's band get a nice mention in one of the articles posed above.
  7. We park at Park Hills Baptist Church and walk down to the park. From the north is quite easy - both before and after. A guaranteed spot. $35 plus fees per day. Looks like they are sold out for W1 but have parking spots available for W2.
  8. If deleting means stopping Michael Jackson from messing with kids, then he's gone first. Then that chick.
  9. I'll take $38 per pound brisket from a good Texas barbecue joint any day.
  10. My generation would have said - "what's a water bottle?"
  11. The kids going to UT thread has plenty of posts about the CAP. Here are my daughters' experiences (no pics): Oldest wanted to go to Texas. Not auto admit and the year 2021 was a terrible time to get in as a freshman because so many kids deferred the previous year because of Covid. Ended up with a CAP offer. She was really down due to not getting into Texas, but I convinced her to be proud of the CAP offer - there are plenty of kids that don't get that. She did a year at UTSA and did great. Automatically admitted to the College of Liberal Arts (which is what the CAP offers). She wasn't sure what she wanted to study and chose economics. Later in the semester she realized the CoLA offered both a BA and a BS in economics. She switched to the BS as it required much more math and stats - which expands her opportunities more than economic theory. She's in her junior year and doing great. Youngest graduated HS this year. She wants to be a physical therapist. Applied to UT for biology and also received a CAP offer. We sat down and talked about it. If she really wanted to go to UT, then take the CAP offer. However, she would not be guaranteed that ability to study biology as CAP only guarantees admission into the CoLA. If she really wanted to be a physical therapist - go to a school that she could study biology from the beginning. Texas State has a great PT school and she was offered a scholarship. She decided that TXST was the best path for her future. TL;DR - if your kid want to go to Texas and is fine with a liberal arts major, then CAP is an excellent way to get there. If your kid's only path to Texas is CAP but does not want a liberal arts degree, it might be better to find the best alternative.
  12. Diamondback water snake. If you can see the eyes from the top of the head, its not a cottonmouth. Cottonmouths have a hooded eye. Here's a picture from the side, but you can see how the eye is shielded from the top. Also of note in this picture - the cottonmouth has round pupils. Their eyes dilate with light, thus making the pupil shape a inconsistent indicator of venomous snakes.
  13. Only two trips to the auto parts store during the swap - probably a new record for me.
  14. That is definitely a Northern Florida or Eastern Cottonmouth. I would not trust those gloves with venomous snakes.
  15. Are you sure? It doesn't show Tree Fiddy under your name.
  16. And they wonder why its been difficult beating the Ukrainians.
  17. In 6th grade, I was pulled out of 1st period language arts class by the vice principal. The librarian had heard noises coming from my locker. Before school, I had stopped by the cool science teacher's class to visit his two hognose snakes - he wasn't there and the door was locked. Knowing it would be a bad idea to take the bag to class, I put the bag in my locker. The bag held 5-6 gulf coast toads I had brought for the snakes. Later in the year, that cool science teacher and I traded reptiles - my Texas alligator lizard in exchange for a six foot coachwhip.
  18. You might also check with the Texas State Library and Archives. They have a treasure trove of Texas historical documents and photos.
  19. Yeah. I get to replace a fuel tank in the near future myself. Right now, it's just easier to change the inline fuel filter every couple months.
  20. So true. My '69 Chevy C-10 is pretty basic, but I'll be damned if something doesn't break every other week. Just switched from a mechanical to an electric fuel pump, which appears to have fixed some issues. Only to notice the master cylinder leaking fluid out the back. New MC, power booster, and proportioning valve going in this weekend.
  21. I feel blessed that I have nothing to add to this thread or at least anything I have would pale in comparison to some of these other stories.
