  1. Mmmmmmmm...Cyd Charisse. Another example of Texas-bred finery, and she was one of the finest.
  2. Great picture. Growing up in Houston in the '70s, these were the local news guys I grew up listening to. Didn't realize how good we had it in Houston until I got to UT, and had to listen to the local Austin "talent", like the ABC affiliate sports guy; I think his name was Ben Storey. He'd make Lowell Galindo sound like Keith Jackson. RIP to Ron...both of them.

    AMMO THREAD

I ordered a case of Remington 9mm, 115 grain FMJ, 500 rounds for $190 from Bulkammo.com last week. Slightly more expensive than yours, but $.38 per round isn't bad.
  4. If he means they would trigger howling peals of derisive laughter, then yeah, he's probably right.
  5. The University of Texas Longhorn Band
  6. I know, I know; it most likely would not have changed the outcome of the game, those Steeler teams were so good, but dammit man...he was in. That Steeler D completely shut down Earl, taking away our one advantage, so the outcome of the game was probably a foregone conclusion, but...shit. 😡
  7. Spoiler alert: Renfro was in.
  8. Yeah, I was never a huge fan of Aerosmith, but I did like some of their early stuff. I checked out on them completely when they appeared in a Super Bowl halftime show performing Walk This Way with Brittney Spears and NSYNC.
  9. This all sounds very familiar. It's almost like Baylor fans were saying exactly the same thing about Matt Rhule a couple years ago, right up to the time Rhule left.
  10. And thus the legend of Stephen "Tuffy" McGee is born.
  11. Not the lead, but I'll allow it; however, since the thread is about female leads in old westerns, and you specifically brought up Hang 'Em High, how come no mention of Inger Stevens? https://honestlydeepesttidalwave.tumblr.com/post/189535112758/inger-stevens-imdb
  12. I get the comparison, but it's kind of unfair to Tech. At least VaTech really is a very good engineering school, and their corps of cadets are actual cadets, all of whom are obligated to military service upon completion of school. Having said all that, their starting QB today is an aggy transfer, and since my grand daugher (no pics, you pervs) just got accepted to UVA, fuck the Hokies.
  13. Unconventional and controversial, but big balls of brass. RIP to a legend. https://www.foxnews.com/us/richard-marcinko-first-commanding-officer-of-seal-team-6-dies-on-christmas
  14. Is it just me, or is the demographic of female, one-armed rock climbers a bit over-represented in commercials these days? And speaking of Erin Andrews, that Lexus commercial she does, "She's rich...she rich, rich" irritates me. I don't care how hot she may be, that ad makes her sound like a moron.
  15. Merry Christmas, you Surly Bastards. I don't post much, but I do enjoy ya'lls company every day...well, most of you anyway. Inka, sorry about your stepmom. I lost my mom 10 years ago about a week before Christmas. Glad you seem to be handling it well, and your family's going to be together over Christmas. Here's something to help put everyone in the mood...Christmas mood, that is:
  16. Getting the 2 seed would be big. Would guarantee 2 home games in a row in the playoffs if you can win that wild card round
  17. If by "AD" you mean Adrian Peterson, fuck that guy. We had Ced when Peterson came out, then got Jamal Charles when Ced graduated. We were fine at RB without Peterson.
  18. It's been a while since I was there, so not sure if it's still there, but the Fredericksburg Brewing Company used to serve a pretty tasty CFS. Also, the sausage sampler appetizer is really good.
  19. Strange hearing Lowell and Lance calling the K State-Marquette game.
  20. In Horn80's defense, he said Gilbert, "played well enough to almost win". That doesn't necessarily mean he played well, but keep in mind that with about 4 minutes to go, it was still a 3 point game, and Texas had the ball with a chance for a game winning drive. Can't really ask for more from a true Freshman with little real playing time under his belt.
  21. I'll admit up front that I don't know shit about shit, but this sounds like the "credible source at Texas Tech" have just figured out that they're not getting Ewers, but can't bring themselves to admit that Texas most likely will.
  22. What the fuck are you talking about? Georgia beat us in the Cotton Bowl in January 1984. We manhandled Georgia in the Sugar Bowl in January 2019. Neither of these games had anything to do with any game being played today. Go sober up and stop whining like a little titty baby.
