  1. Just a reminder, don't fucking watch KEYE, it's a Sinclair station, working in active concert with the fascist regime to subjugate and buttfuck the country.
  2. There's a 98% chance that "Wattle and Daub" is an overpriced gastropub in London specializing in food described as "artisanal" and "curated" and shit like that.
  3. *Noble.
  4. Shit, that probably woulda livened up the ceremony at my great grandma Gladys' funeral. That was a real snoozer. Poor old gal came down to Texas from Oklahoma in a covered wagon, was raised by a woman who married an outlaw on the run, and had three sons: two ranchers/oilpatch trash, and a neurosurgeon. And they still managed to make her funeral boring.
  5. Oh, I've shot at that range as well (again, quite a long time ago, but I have shot out there. Sighted in my .300 WBY Mag).

As is always the case, a society/state can choose the Rule of Law, or Rule of the Gun. Those are the two choices. Opting out of the Rule of Law necessarily and inevitably means opting into the other. Choose wisely.
  7. Also....I am old enough to remember going to a friend's property in Katy not far from Pin Oak Road 40 years ago or so. It was open land, big piles of dirt built up as backstops, kinda turned into a makeshift shooting range. That place was a blast. And, still out in the sticks, no houses etc. nearby. Goddamn I'm old.
  8. I don't believe in algorithms. I choose to believe that he universe knows that I like fishing, cooking, and buxom women, and somehow my social media feed manages to match with those likes. You just have to trust in the universe, man. And chicks with bigguns. Gotta trust them too.
  9. My barbershop is a bit of a drive, and cash only. So, I make sure to grab some cash one time when I'm at an HEB the week before, then I go on Saturday around lunchtime. Lotsa good ethnic restaurants by the barbershop, so I also get a treat for lunch: cuban sammich, bahn mi, tacos, kebabs, all kinds of options. Winning.
  10. BUT BIDEN DEMENTIA! How much worse is it that we're not just dealing with increasing dementia, but the baseline is....and yeah, I know we're not supposed to say this, but I can't figure out any better term for it....he's fucking retarded. Seriously, he's just an absolute, abject fucking moron. Layer dementia on top of that? Sheeeeeeeeeeit.
  11. I mean, I appreciate it. At least one legit media outlet is posting actual common-sense objective truth. Also, this is what counts for "data-based science" in this new era of utter batshittery: "The MMR I think should be taken separately. This is based on what I feel." Fucking Christ. "Human beings can fly if they jump from a 20 story building and flap their arms really hard. This is based on what I feel."
  12. Oh. Atomheart. Don't feel that way. KNOW IT, with CERTAINTY. There's a 100% chance we'll fuck this up.
  13. For realz. For all these "Bible-believin' Christian" types, who believe the Bible is the literal, inerrant word of God....man, they sure do like skipping over some words. Some really important ones, I'd suggest. Honestly, the fucking biblical prophecies on this are uncomfortably uncanny. As @Ghost of LL commented a while back, "I was thinking that maybe I didn't believe in Christ, but now I've seen the actual prophesied Antichrist come to life, and I think 'huh, there may be something to that Bible stuff.'"
  14. In the interest of "national dialogue," and giving airtime to the viewpoints of Charlie Kirk supporters, Jimmy should have prominent Trump and Kirk supporter Forgiato Blow on to perform "Good and Evil," so he can tell us about how lynching is good: You know, just welcoming different viewpoints, and bringing people together. Right?
  15. Or in Austin, it's a core function, called a "charrette." It's just as delusional and fart-sniffing, but it's in french, so it's cool. I bet they do charrettes in Portland, so there ya go, they're just good policy.
  16. Your omission of the absolutely adorable Lucy Worsley from Lucy Worsley Investigates is duly noted and is going in your permanent record.
  17. A whole lot of this, which seems to be largely lost in the shuffle/conversation. Imagine that you are a kid in/from Gaza. Say, age 8-16. When this is over, and you are either in what's left of Gaza, or you are in exile somewhere....how much hatred and rage will you be carrying around inside you? If even a fraction of a percentage of those people conclude that vengeance against Israel and Israelis must be their life's work, that's a shitload of terrorists who aren't even motivated by a political goal (a free Palestine, what have you). No, they're motivated by a desire to inflict pain. Massive pain. Incalculable pain. Because that was what was inflicted on them. If one of them someday gets the chance to deploy a weapon of mass destruction - gas, bioweapon, nuke -- against Israel, aren't they going to jump a the chance? The chances of an existential attack against Israel in the next 20 years have gone UP, exponentially, as a result of this war. That's the maddening part. What Israel is doing isn't just cruel and evil, it's fucking counterproductive in the long run.
  18. Blah blah. Have the day you voted for, folks.
  19. You remember how we used to make fun of any number of "communist" countries that could only make it by virtue of getting significant influxes of Soviet cash and other aid? And we all noted that those examples stood as testament to the idea that the Soviet-style communist system just didn't fucking work? I guarantee you every fucker in this admin who is now pondering aid to Argentina thought that, and probably said so loudly. And today, unironically, they are going to do exactly what they used to mock.
  20. And 100% this. "The dollar is a scam propped up by the Elites! It's finally falling apart - see its decline in value [tied almost entirely to Trumpian insanity in economic actions and policies]! The only smart refuge is.......CRYPTO!!!"
  21. I mean...those things are more expensive because of the exchange rate, too. But I see your point. That said, declining purchasing power offsets wage gains and such, basic math and longtime rule. Shit, I want my daughter to buy me a 20 euro t-shirt with her new grad school logo on it (gotta be the school dad), which now costs 10% more than it did at the beginning of the year....but that really doesn't matter, because deutsche post won't ship a small package to the US anymore anyway.
  22. Yep, the TLDR is a strong takeaway. Used to be wackadoos in their basement. It was literally a pop-culture gag: I mostly encountered those types in the mid-late 80s, set up mostly outside (but sometimes inside) gun shows. Gun shows, which used to be MOSTLY sporting and collectors firearms and such....but always had some angle for the paramilitary/militia/survivalist nutbars. There would be a guy with a van and a table and flyers about how Lyndon Larouche and Elvis who wasn't really dead were gonna save us from the mole people set up out in the parking lot. Sometimes I'd grab a flyer because I like having something entertaining to read while I take a dump. But "something to read while I shit" was as far as I ever went. Their message just couldn't get a wide or deep broadcast. Now? The satirical conspiracy of "birds aren't real" -- a conspiracy theory that was purposefully designed to be so absurd that nobody could actually believe it -- has thousands of actual believers. Today, you could start a "football was invented by aliens" conspiracy, and within a year, it would be a topic of discussion on Fox news.
  23. Or shit, my bank account. I've had to spend education dollars in euros and pounds this year. Got a nice 10% price hike in both respects over the past several months.
  24. Yeah. Your "bingo" very likely misses the point that was actually made by that statement.
