  1. Jesus, as annoying as it is to watch people run errands in the city in their F250s, it seems like putting pressure on governments and corporations to do anything makes a lot more sense than harrassing individuals.
  2. Breaking: Joe Manchin Still a Piece of Shit
  3. ^^^ My hope is that if DeSantis wins the nom, he is too boring and uninspiring to bring out the crazies who never cared about politics before Trump, in order to balance out any Republicans who might revert to their typical voting patterns after voting for Biden or abstaining.
  4. New video out from the Robb Elementary hallway with the cops twiddling their thumbs for an hour as gunshots continue from the classroom.
  5. The scenes of Howard the last 1+ episodes have been so intense. Showing him getting killed wasn't enough. We then see him stuffed inside a refrigerator and buried with his murderer in a secret drug cave, while Mike asks Gus's guys to drop him in the grave gently, as if there can be any dignity left for him at that point. Gilligan does an incredible job of making an initially unlikable character into one you feel so much sympathy for.
  6. I watched this drama unfold for a couple hours today while rocking the baby. Ziggy's defense held for a couple hours, an unsteady truce was briefly formed, then Mango expertly baited Ziggy away from the bed before claiming it for herself. Who needs TV!
  7. New episodes of Better Call Saul, What We Do In the Shadows AND the January 6th committee from July 11-12?!? It's going to be an entertaining 24 hours. Can we get some commits too?
  8. I'm about to finish The Journeyer by Gary Jennings, historical fiction of Marco Polo's journey into Kubilai's khanate. Very explicit, very entertaining. It's a beast of a book though, nearly 800 pages. Interested to check out his book in a similar vein, Aztec.
  9. Perhaps we can trick the earth into not warming, just like we trick consumers. It's worth a shot!
  10. Hell, I don't think we're strict enough about prohibiting fireworks, much less firearms. Should any individual in the Western half of the country be setting off fireworks in the tinderbox they currently live in?
  11. Too on the nose, Google. https://twitter.com/BNONews/status/1544025147694321667?t=1y72EHCzwkUT3P3Tua4r9Q&s=19
  12. No shit, a fireworks show with constant pops and bangs seems like the exact sort of place this would happen. Who is even celebrating the state of America at this point?
  13. Nakashima seems like a guy who wouldn't get shaken by Kyrgios' antics much, so just had to beat him straight up. I didn't catch the last couple sets, but at least one American made the quarters.
  14. Kyrgios has been pretty tame so far today, minus a betwen-the-legs shot for no reason. Guess the shoulder really is bothering him.
  15. Orcas do like to separate calves from momma whales and drown them, so I understand the resentment. Or kill an adult and eat only their tongue. Pretty cold-blooded bastards for mammals.
  16. Livestock outweighs ALL wild mammals and birds by a factor of 10. Cool!
  17. Just turned it on. What got Tsitsipas all worked up and penalized?
  18. I'm not going to look at IV's bullshit, but if EU ranchers are anywhere near as entitled as American ranchers seem to largely be, they can go fuck themselves.
  19. How anyone thinks we (the US) do not owe places like Bangladesh for literally taking their land away is beyond me. I'm sure we will welcome the hundreds of millions of future climate refugees with open arms when the time comes, right?
  20. Who's excited to experience higher temperatures than any human has lived through in our 200,000 years on the planet!!!
  21. Climate Force needs to look into nuking Greenland and Antarctica. If we vaporize all the frozen fresh water, it will prevent sea level rise!
  22. As the other dude was celebrating what he thought was a winner. That was great.
  23. I knew Nadal had a foot issue but I just looked up what he had. I used to work in foot & ankle surgery and I'm surprised he's been able to continue playing at this level. Mueller-Weiss syndrome basically causes the navicular bone in the foot to completely degenerate. If not manageable with conservative measures, it requires surgery to fuse it to the neighboring bone, and that requires probably 8-12 weeks 100% non-weightbearing, not to mention the recovery time to get back to running and get conditioning back up anywhere near his level. Suffice to say, if he did end up requiring surgery, I don't see him coming back at this point.
  24. Did anybody catch his opponent's failed between the legs shot on an early match point that nearly cost him the match?
  25. Clearly we're past the point of no return for serious consequences. It would be great if we could avoid global catastrophe though, but not looking great on that front.
