  1. 0.8" in NW Travis last night. Better than a sharp stick in the eye. Not counting on Beryl for anything around Austin though. Instead it's gonna dump all over areas that have already had too much rain. Ugh.
  2. Agreed. It's also our go-to for crawfish when in season.

    Euro 2024

That was fun! Hoping for more in the next match.
  4. I like Tennessee in general and am looking forward to watching Texas play against them in the SEC. I rarely (never?) interact with Tennessee fans in real life and I don't frequent any internet forums where I'd find them, so don't expect any hostile interactions. This answer in that reddit thread was pretty funny though:
  5. New Texags motto material right there. Pure gold.
  6. It'd be a good move for the B1G and a terrible one for A&M. Which is why I about 65% believe it will happen.
  7. Well I do take great pleasure in a solid horns-down, but a bent pinky and index finger would be a line too far!
  8. Black's is still good. Kreuz more like a tourist trap and Smitty's brisket was shoe leather the last time I bothered trying it. Haven't been to the new Terry Black's or Barbs.
  9. I think several people on this thread up above your comment, have expressed that they really liked S3E1, so you're not alone. Personally, I didn't love it. I think it came off as overly self-indulgent from the creative team, and it was so long that it also came off as insulting to the audience. After ten minutes, we got it. Everybody got it. Even the cows got it. Overall I don't hate the idea and the execution was beautiful, but it could have lasted about 1/3 as long and been more impactful. Agree with every word, that's exactly how I felt about it. Anyway like others I'm still in on the show, but they're not making it easy for me.
  10. Agree but... ... yeah, only reason would be "to stick it to the sips." Or something.
  11. I'm curious, why would the B1G not want to get into the Texas market? We've commented many times that the reasons the SEC wanted A&M, were so that they could expand their television footprint into the state of Texas, plus increase their recruiting awareness within the state, all while pulling in a school in A&M that was never going to be a threat to the established football powers of the conference. Why wouldn't the B1G be interested in using the ags in the same way?
  12. Yeah if the airline can get in and out before the hurricane, there's no way they'll cancel the flight. They'll gladly drop you, and strand you, without a second thought. Several years back we booked a package vacation through our travel agent, for Jamaica, in July. So of course a hurricane decides to meander through the Caribbean, just as we were set to depart. The last couple of days before we were supposed to leave Austin, we kept calling the airline to see if they were going to cancel, and they said "nope business as usual." We got nervous at one day out, pulled the plug on the Caribbean and went to Los Cabos instead-- we had paid for the hurricane insurance so it was a free change in itinerary for us. That hurricane didn't end up hitting Jamaica, they just caught heavy rain bands for days, but it did plow directly into Playa del Carmen/Tulum. We met a couple at our hotel in Cabo who were originally supposed to go to Playa del Carmen, but had bailed the same time we did and opted for Cabo. But they had friends who decided to go ahead to Playa. As soon as they landed in Cancun, they were informed their hotels were closed and they were bussed to a high school gymnasium somewhere around the area, where they sheltered for the next couple of days as the hurricane blew right over them. So yeah, the airlines aren't your friend, they don't care, at all.

  14. More examples of ags insisting on hero-worshipping their coaches instead of just letting them be professionals who are paid to do a job. Like Charlie Brown with the football, they just do it over and over again.
  15. If he's proposing that ags finally shut up and leave us alone, then I'm all in. Great strategy, keep it up! Punish us some more!

Having a chairman that is excited about UT athletics is much better than having one that is indifferent or opposed.
  17. Yeah I thought Max had matured and improved but it turns out he’s only tolerable when he’s in the fastest car running way out front. He’s terrible when challenged. As discussed many times on this thread the penalty just isn’t harsh enough when you wreck a guy out and cause a DNF. You should get the same result and zero points. Max and Horner, such little birches.
  18. Eh, it's mostly those dumbasses from Chicago...
  19. 1) If you're doing it secretly, then how is anyone going to ever find out? Oh yeah right, the "screenshots." It's been a week, let's see them! Surely that's enough time for the ags to fake them even if they accidentally misplaced them. Shoot I could have AI generate some fake screenshots in about 0.08 seconds. 2) Their assistant coach who we have just discovered was actually basically the head coach for the past several years, was an unpaid assistant until a year ago. So, wow, that's some serious trust Schloss placed in such a young guy. Oh that's right, Schloss was so busy lying and swinging that he had no idea what was going on inside the program, anyway.
  20. Yeah it's a fantastic gig for him, as long as he can put up with all the extracurricular ag crap. Some coaches are better than others at doing it. But ultimately, that's what the money's for.
  21. More ag chatter on the "tarnished reputation" that is only visible to the most secluded of ags. Those yahoos not only think their message board parroting represent the views of all ags, but they think it represents the views of all sports fans. But I had several conversations with real-world non-message-board ags at work throughout the week. Mostly engineers and mostly sane people. They're disappointed Schloss left, and especially for UT. They're concerned about who their next coach will be but hoping they can land a good one. They're not talking-- at all-- about some "tarnishing" that occurred during the move. They know they stole Schloss from TCU in the exact same way. As for regional and national news-- nobody outside of College Station is talking about "tarnishing" at all, and the story only lasted maybe a day, anyway. The slant to pretty much ALL of the non-ag-written stories was, Texas dunked on little brother, and it's going to make the rivalry more intense. That's all, seeya in November when there's more to report. Message board ags have got to be the dumbest people on the planet.
