  1. Jucy Lucy at Matt's is The Truth. Love that place.
  2. Yeah I had my 5th birthday there and attended countless others, and now both of my kids have had birthdays there as well. I'll be sad to see it go. But I'm honestly pretty surprised they've held out this long. And I don't recall even once eating at that McDonald's.
  3. Blessed are the Content Creators, for they shall inherit the earth. Or, at least a scorching case of herpes.
  4. There's a special place in hell for people who do their rigging whilst on the ramp itself.
  5. Satellite TV has had ESPN for decades. Most tailgate parties use satellite. However, as a Time Warner/Spectrum customer, there are many WiFi hotspots in downtown Austin that I can use, so I can connect my smart TV or streaming device (roku, firestick, etc.) via WiFi hotspot and have access to all of my streaming services. It works... okay. Lotsa of internet traffic on a busy Saturday afternoon but I've had some success over the years.
  6. Definitely personal and anecdotal. My kids (13 and 15) both love wakeboarding. They like it better than surfing. They're learning the tricks, love to jump, etc. But that's just my own experience. Personally I love the driving experience of a large I/O like a Cobalt, that's the most fun for me. I haven't wakeboarded in years, I've actually pulled out my old slalom more recently. The wakeboat is of course a complete disaster for skiiing behind, so I only did that once, because my kids had never seen anyone ski on a slalom and didn't believe me when I told them I knew how.
  7. BUT... I'll also add... that most of the people I know with teenaged kids, who got an I/O because the water sports weren't the most important thing-- later find out that for their kids and their kids' friends, the water sports DO end up being pretty important, and so they end up landing in wakesurf boats ultimately, anyway. I had two Cobalts over 25 years, but now that the kids are teenagers, we've got a Mastercraft X45 for water sports.
  8. Inboards have a prop on a drive shaft that comes out of the bottom of the boat, and a rudder behind it. Going forward, that rudder directs the water flow and changes direction left to right. In reverse, the rudder is actually in front of the water flow and therefore far less effective. Inboards actually have poor steering in all directions, compared to I/O or outboard. That's one of the reasons they are not as easy or fun for cruising. I agree with brew's evaluation above, if wakesurfing or wakeboarding aren't your primary concern, then an I/O runabout like a Cobalt might be a better fit for you.
  9. Yeah if you get a slip on the water I'd definitely make sure you have a hoist. We have ours in drystack storage and it's worked well for us. Call about an hour ahead and they have the boat in the water waiting when we get there. Leave it at the end of the day and they put it away.
  10. Aston Martin is making the most beautiful cars on the road today. My opinion, obviously. But they're just stunning.
  11. Lose to Michigan but win the B1G, lose in the first round of the playoffs to... ...TEXAS. Not in the shoe. Maybe at night.
  12. Yeah they used to release several, with increasing levels of heat throughout the month. Scallywag, Brushfire Shrimp, and the Barn Burner. I always enjoyed that progression. But you're likely right that they decided it's just too damn hot for all that.
  13. Sir, I hope you are not suggesting that FSU is The Bad Actor and The Destroyer of Conferences. That's our gig.
  14. I can't speak for many/most people, but yes, every grown adult I know that cares enough about sports to watch them streaming, pays for them, rather than stealing them from pirated streams.
  15. It died in 1972 according to my parents.
  16. Very tame as long as you don't encounter this fine Alabama specimen:
  17. Actual current photo of LTbear at his keyboard right now:

    BBQ

But how do their tortillas stack up?
  19. Ha! They say that for boats as well, and yet I have one of those, plus the Jeep. Guess I'll never learn.
  20. Fred has always been a stone cold killer. Unfortunately he's ended up making some bad decisions over the years, switching to the wrong teams at the wrong moment. But if he'd had a little better luck or made a little more savvy decisions over the years, and ended up at the top teams during their peaks, then HE'D be the one we're all tired of, finishing top of the podium week after week. Is it possible I could ever tire of him the same way I've tired of Lewis and Max? NAH. Screw that. Fred is Fred.
  21. I was assured that good ags don't care about the Hogwarts Trophy.
