Kuchar = Duchar

He’s really going to make people come out tomorrow just for him?!

So Kuch decided not to finish last night, only player that didn't. Seems like a Kuch move, dude is making tournament officials,  caddie, etc come back this morning. I hope he gets heckled, but the difference between birdie and bogey is $150k.

They should have the mowers running behind him waiting, and people trying Noonan as he putts

Kuch mad they continued play late yesterday

Kuchar, though, only hit his drive on the final hole. He pulled it left on the down-then-up 503-yard finishing hole on the Donald Ross design. Then, he chose to not finish the round. Under the Rules of Golf, a player has the option to not continue when they feel they are unable to play due to darkness. By exercising that option, Kuchar has the right to come back to Sedgefield on Monday morning to finish the 18th hole -- as the only player to still need to finish.

Kuchar told Golf Channel that he chose to do it in an effort to encourage Greyserman to take his time on the final hole -- and perhaps as a form of protest over slow play on Sunday and the PGA Tour not calling play sooner.

“We were so far past when we should’ve stopped playing," Kuchar said. "We saw what Max did on hole 16; they should’ve blown the horn there. I feel bad, the poor kid should’ve won this tournament. By me not playing, it may show Max he has an important shot to hit.”

Since every player has not finished their round, Rai's first PGA Tour win will not become official until Kuchar completes the 18th hole. Kuchar had to win the Wyndham Championship to qualify for the FedEx Cup playoffs by finishing in the top 70 in the standings. This will mark the first year that Kuchar has not qualified for the playoffs since the post-season concept started in 2007.

Speaking of Jordan it sounds like he’ll be having the wrist surgery after his season is done.

Jordan Spieth Hints at Offseason Wrist Surgery: ‘Going to Have to Do Something’

Story by Bob Harig

A wrist issue that has bothered Jordan Spieth for more than a year is something he admitted Tuesday will likely needed to be addressed after the PGA Tour season concludes.

Spieth, 31, who is playing in this week’s Wyndham Championship, said he doesn’t have any pain when he swings the club but is concerned the injury is affecting him anyway. His stats for approach to the green are among the worst of his career.

“It's been a frustrating year because it's been maybe my best driving year ever, and then the clubs that I make the most impact into the ground with, which normally are my bread and butter, have been pretty off,” Spieth told reporters in Greensboro, N.C., in advance of the tournament. “It's not hurting, but subconsciously it's hard not to look at the numbers and think this isn't a coincidence.

“I've been taking trips out as well as being in contact with a lot of doctors, getting it scanned again and trying to figure out what the next move is. Probably going to have to do something about it this offseason.”

Spieth’s ECU (extensor carpi ulnaris), a tendon in his left wrist, regularly pops out. It started last spring during the Wells Fargo Championship but Spieth managed it mostly for the rest of the year before it flared up again in the fall.

After a fast start to this year, Spieth has mostly struggled, with no top-10 finishes in his last 17 events. He did not contend in any of the majors.

At 63rd in the FedEx Cup standings, he is safe for the events that begin next week for the top 70 but has some work to do to get to the BMW Championship and assure that he is top 50—which would get him in all the signature events next year.

“I'm going to pretend nothing's happening, fully trust it given that I'll be able to get it fixed, and I know there's a lot of golfers that have had similar situations and come back better than ever,” he said. “I like to think hopefully I have 10 to 15 years of prime and some of my best golf left, so I'll be optimistic about the process.

“But I'm not quite sure exactly what I'll do and where I'll do it, but unfortunately something kind of has to get done. And I've never experienced anything like this before. Just trying to take my time making sure things are done right at the right time.”

Spieth said what is strange about the condition is that he is generally pain-free—until the tendon pops out.

“I'm not in any pain playing, that's what's confusing,” he said. “If I was, I wouldn't have played anymore. It's all off the golf course weird little things where my tendon will kind of pop out, sublux or dislocate out of the groove and then I've got to get it back in or else I wouldn't be able to grip a club.

“If it's a problem at all, I'm not withdrawing from an event. It's a very weird scenario and one that's been a little frustrating because I would have liked to have known this is the answer or this is the answer and just have to figure it out.”

Asked how long he’s been pain-free, Spieth said: “Well, the whole time. I mean, I’m pain-free until it subluxes and then I’m very much in pain until I get it back.”

Spieth said he believes it is not something that will heal on its own, nor is he doing any further damage.

“When I'm hitting balls I'm not thinking about it, I'm not worried about it, but I just don't know subconsciously, it's too tough to measure if or if it's not making a difference,” he said. “I have no pain excuses or there's no reason to play if you feel like you're going to play through pain or not be at your best.”

USAm having a 14 for 11 playoff this morning, that would be fun to follow, then match play starts

BDC played with John Daly in his Break 50 YouTube series. It’s pretty good. JD played barefoot, chain smoked and hammered cocktails the whole round. Needless to say, they didn’t come close.

Phil is really fun to watch play those little YT matches. The one with him and Grant Horvat is a good watch. His golf mind is absurd.

Spiethcoaster 68th spot and Rory currently in 69th spot on Leaderboard...

Time for surgery on that wrist Jordan 😬

Did not expect a finish like this. Pressure is a bitch.

I was tuckered out from a bike ride earlier today, so my couch time turned into nap time. I was probably out for 45 mins, and the leaderboard looks......different. WTF

Matsuyama is scattered,  that means he'll birdie 18.

He pulled up right before he was going to crash into the battleship.

Damn JT is only 31. He should go into broadcasting or something

JT in the booth, and Bones on the course? Might make for interesting banter.

I meant JS lol

he's done for, washed up. had a great run then decided to start tinkering with his swing

Oh. Big diff between Jordan and JT.

Spirit of comment still the same. Although I could listen to Jordan easier than JT. 😂

It’s baffling that Spieth would nurse this alleged wrist injury for three seasons of his prime.  He hasn’t contended in a tournament since the Sentry in January.

Maybe Spieth just lost the magic. It happens. He holed out an insane amount of shots. It's hard to just keep going that in perpetuity.

Fans mic'ed up. Of course there's an old dude talking shit about being -3.

I just watched it. They were 14 under through 14 - I'd say that's relatively close. 🤷

holy shit.  BMW Championship is at Castle Pines outside Denver.  i had no idea it moved there.  Castle Pines used to host a PGA event using the modified Stableford scoring system.  but its been ages since they've held that tournament.

course is playing 8,130 yards long. but because of altitude, it's the equivalent of 7,350 yards at sea level.

and the women are playing their ladies British Open at the Old Course at St. Andrews. wind is howling.  that is some good stuff.

They finished -18.  Many have come closer. Hell, him and Trump were -22. Tits Spiranak and him were -20.

We’ll see if Nelly can get through an important tourney without making a quintuple bogey. So far she’s -1 thru 11 and 3 back.

Nelly shoots back to back 68s and currently has a 3 shot in the women’s Open at St. Andrews.

she was cooking in that windy weather.  her group with Lilia Vu and Charley Hull is basically the final group tomorrow.  they are all feeding off each other.  i'd watch Nelly and Charley feed off each other.

Nelly might be falling apart again. Opens bogey bogey. Great top of leaderboard with Hull and Vu right there.

Edit: Nelly birdies #3 to retake the lead

Nelly got it back together … then just went OB on 16.

Anybody’s game at the Women’s Open Championship. It’s particularly fun to see Alexa Pano on the leaderboard. She’s been on the scene since she was a child. She was featured on Netflix’ The Short Game as an 8 year old and made to the finals of Drive, Chip and Putt at Augusta National 4 times.

They say a major doesn’t really start until the back nine on Sunday. Well, we’ve got a tight leaderboard at the Old Course at St. Andrew’s with rain and wind and cold temps. Leaders are on the back 9. This is gonna be epic.

^^^
Particularly on this course as the back 9 has been playing significantly harder than the front.
Really good leaderboard. The top 4 have all been #1 in the world at some point in their career.

Nelly with a terrible double bogey on the par 5 14th. Two shot lead is gone. 3 way tie with Ko, Korda, and Shin.

A gold medal and Open Championship trophy in the span of 15 days. Life is good for Lydia Ko.

St Andrews always seems to bring out the best......Ko is very deserving. What a beautifully played 17th and 18th. She's on a short list of greatest wedge players I've ever seen.

hard to believe this is only Lydia's third major. first since 2016.  i wanted Nelly to win, but Lydia winning is well-deserved.

Adam Scott with one of the most stupid good bunker shots i've ever seen.  i'll post the video when it's available.  downhill plugged lie and the second tier of a two tier green. died it in the fringe, ball barely made the top of hill, then went to about 5 feet.
