April 22, 20241 yr It’s rare I’m glad for a day off, but tomorrow is just fine. Watch the Stars, forget about baseball briefly.

April 22, 20241 yr Feel like the team is scuffling along but someway, somehow we’re 12-11 and still in first. Picked up 2 games on the Astros on the tough 10 game road trip. And all while Jung is on the DL and the Carter/ Langford/Seager trio haven’t really started hitting yet. Plus, pitching reinforcements on the way. Every game we play where we remain in first and stay at or above .500 is nothing but positive news. Edited April 22, 20241 yr by CowtownHorn
April 22, 20241 yr My season win prediction was predicated on 40 first half wins and then 50 second half after pitching gets right, so hovering around .500 was the expectation. But pitching has been better than expected for the most part (and exactly as expected for one particular relief pitcher) so the offense underperforming feels like it’s cost the team some wins.

April 23, 20241 yr he's #6 in hard hit percentage, per fangraphs, ahead of a bunch of pretty cool names. https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/major-league?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=y&type=2&season=2024&month=0&season1=2024&ind=0&pageitems=30&sortcol=18&sortdir=default&pagenum=1

April 24, 20241 yr Oh shit. Forgot Dane dunning was giving out home run ball’s to the first 10,000 fans. I think his FIP is nearing 8 for the season.
April 24, 20241 yr Long way from mattering, but little Josh may be our 9th starter over Wyatt when big Josh gets back.

April 24, 20241 yr Caught some of the game on my drive home last night. They were talking about Wyatt possibly having the most outside of the zone pitches called strikes in MLB. He's obviously struggling but this isn't helping.
April 24, 20241 yr Last night sucked. But when things go poorly I remind myself of last season, that always makes me smile. And sometimes I read the current page of the Astros thread. They need to show some life though because resignation is already creeping in, with talk of a throwaway developmental season to prepare for another real run next season!
