I have no idea how this running back makes his decisions, but it occurs to me that there is a big difference in the A&M and Texas running strategy.

Go to A&M and become a feature back, and you'll get a lot of carries and, if their line actually improves over the next few years, a lot of yards grounding and pounding. I can see the appeal in that.

Come to Texas and you will likely not get as large a number of touches or yards, but you will be more likely to make spectacular plays set up by our run-pass strategy.

Also appealing.

I wonder if I'm hitting on any reality with this consideration.

Also appealing to RB these days is not being a sole featured back. The NFL views RB as the most replaceable position out there, and it typically has the shortest lifespan in the league. RBs have taken a longer view of working to preserve their bodies in college more than even just 5-8 years ago.

A couple of their highest ranked recruits that aren't on that list of guys that dropped were Singleton and Givens. Per 247, neither of them have offers from Georgia, Bama, Texas, or Ohio St.

I understand that not all offers are necessarily listed on their profile, but for none of those schools to offer those guys, are those players really elite? Overrated or red flags?

Elko is Fisher Part Deux regarding being a star chaser. For Georgia to not even feign interest on an in-state guy means there’s something seriously problematic. Is he a tweener? Is he a made gang member? Is he asking for QB money? It has to be something.

You already know the answer: they don't have enough driving-related infractions.

If you're not getting a full scholarship anyway, sure, go be meat for an SEC team that you love. Get to be in uniform and on the sideline during homegames and you get to play during the week. I'd have done it.

i think if one thing has been established, it's ctj's ability to identify roster talent.

and a decade after kenny hill laid waste to south carolina, we drank all the bourbon that charleston had to offer and i proclaimed jake spavital a plug and play genius . . i am simply going to say i think collin klein is very good at his job and mike elko needs to figure out what the fuck is going on in our back 7.

that being said, literally nothing could go wrong from here on out for the ags.

It's the Jimmys and the Joes not the Xs and the Os.
