Can we hit Aggy's #2 or #3 pitchers?   I know nothing about anybody but Kennedy....

What’s their change up like?
I don’t remember but we did win the middle game in Austin last year so I guess?

If Kavan comes back next year with an any count change up, she'll be dominant.    Seems like that is what our staff is missing, used to be Simpson but she lost it.

I won’t lie, I’m just hoping she comes back

You think she transfers or just quits?

Shes not going to quit but there’s no guarantee anyone stays anymore. I would hope she returns. She’s the ace and she’s had a tough year.

Would like to see a “co ace” added. This development hindrance thing doesn’t hold water in this conference.

Lol I wouldn't call it tough, it's the SEC.  She was still 1st all SEC.

I hope the Belmont pitcher hits the portal and somehow stay away from BlowU

I’m still of the strong belief that TKs struggles this season are due to her pitching in way too many games and innings this season. If Mike White can find another pitcher on his roster that he can trust, we’ll see a much improved TK next season.

I don't disagree as a whole,  but according to D1 softball, she's right on pace with Kennedy and Landry...... and 20 innings behind Canady and Pickens currently.  We need that kind of production from an ace, esepcially during the postseason.....or maybe we need a new ace that can and make Kavan a Co-Ace.

In my unprofessional opinion, I feel that TK doesn't posses the killer instinct that some of the top pitchers do. That's not necessarily a bad thing because most of the ones that do are annoying as hell. It seems to me that the slightest sign of adversity like hitting the leadoff hitter, giving up a walk, or there's an error causes her to either press or overthink/overpitch and it sort of spirals. Hopefully, she continues to gain confidence in herself and we find her some help on the mound, in the field, and consistency at the plate.

I agree with you.    I'd rather have an annoying assassin though than a spiraler.   Hopefully she can find a little killer instinct and confidence somewhere eventually.

She’s still young. They cannot all be Jordy Bahl and her antics

I’m not sure her physique has the strength to pitch the innings necessary as a dominant Friday starter…as many other pitchers are heavier and possibly stronger….I may be totally wrong, but that’s my take.  Perhaps some off-season workouts and building some muscle could help…but, I’m just guessing.

I think the biggest issue as stated upthread is her pitch inventory doesn’t have enough velocity variance, so hitters aren’t really off balance.  That can be worked on with grip and mechanics but you need to keep control when you tinker, or tinker in the offseason and get the control back before play starts again.

Also yeah -

Ellis is POY, Pickens is Pitcher of the Year, Landry is Newcomer of the Year, Gasso is COY, Tori Edwards is FOY

TK, Mitchell, Atwood, Scott were 1st team All SEC

Henry, Maloney and Stewie were 2nd team All SEC

Atwood (catcher) and Maloney (RF) all defensive team

Damn Arkie! Keep stomping this Sooners

6-1 and still battling

Does any team have a legit 2nd or 3rd pitcher at this point?

I know we can't beat OU in a series.  I doubt we'd beat TAMU or Arky.

Well when it's single elimination, anything can happen

Also, Aggies and Arky aren't in their head like OU

That too

Assuming it's Mac today, this is what she did last year against aggy:

5.2 IP (in relief), 6 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
2.1 IP (in relief, got the W), 1 H, 0 ER
5.1 IP (started, got the W), 4 H, 1 ER (2 R), 1 K

Need 2024 Mac to show up today

A better/more experienced pitching coach might have helped the entire staff this year. But in the end, I can't ignore that our HC was a storied pitcher in men's softball. He shares in the questionable use/development of this staff. But whatever. I felt going into this year we needed another proven arm, and that's how it's played out so far.

Arkansas leads the conference in fielding (.981) and thus far are making great plays.    We are at .971 probably the highest in the MW era.

Above are conference only pitching stats.   TK holds her on in most areas except opponents batting average.

There is definitely reason to be concerned about her performance this year but as known there has been a significant increase in the level of competition.   Perhaps the analytics of the approach to SEC hitters and of course the execution was not up to a championship level.   TK and the coaches need to improve.

As a team we are 2nd in the SEC with a 4.44 era.   When an over 4 era is 2nd it makes a statement about the hitting.

Yes no pitcher on this staff does. TK is just ehhhh, Citlaly is just glad to be here and Mac may have a little killer instinct but man she’s gotten worse.

I say it comes from coaching, I’ll keep saying we need a pitching coach cause the development has been so bad these last few years for our pitcher, and it’s like they’ve all gotten worse the longer they were here.  Simpson, Mac, TK (although not worse, she hasn’t gotten any better) Cit (definitely gotten worse)  and so on.

We need a pitching coach!

At this point that’s what you call a winning culture. No matter who plays they play like they have to uphold a standard !!!

sheesh
