Tony Hinchcliffe, basically. These guys are so safe they make Joey Bishop look like Lenny Bruce.

Ok I'm calling bullshit. There isnt a person alive who knows who that cunt Hinchcliff is and doesn't know the other Rogan Nazi comics.

Rogan's comedians are just a bunch of opportunists who saw $$$ in jumping on the nazi white supremacist bandwagon of trump and catering to the trump deplorables. But now they've run their course, and as the country gets more and more legitimately harmed by this administration's authoritarianism the backlash against these people will continue to grow.

I only learned about him because he was at the MSG event and looked at some of his other work. I have no idea who the other three guys are.

I've been annoyed with Rogan since Alamo left the Ritz and he took the property with his Spotify money. I'm a pretty big comedy fan and was stoked to see Creek & the Cave open up, and I'm been to Cap City a handful of times over the past couple years. I don't fuck with the need to feel like I'm part of the frat though, and Mothership just feels like a frat house built with Rogan's Spotify money. I like a decent amount of bigger and smaller (touring) comics that appeal to me because they're funny and have interesting things to say, when I've tried to give Kill Tony a chance I feel like I'm watching clones try the same edgy bits. Not for me.

I do also feel like the hype has died down and the comedy scene is moving on from him trying to make this city the mecca. NY and LA will always have their scenes. I'm also happy that places like Cap City (and even Creek & Cave) can continue to fill rooms with touring acts though. It seems like comedy as a market is completely fine here.

Here's one of the stars at his club getting boo'd off stage:

I guess he forgot he wasn't in the Rogan safe space.

We were unfortunately gifted tickets to that "comedy" "festival" at Far Out Lounge on Friday.  That guy was so painfully unfunny the crowd was literally silenced.  Every once in a while you'd hear some groans, and maybe some neckbeard chuckling, but I've never in my life seen a crowd of probably 700+ people be so utterly perplexed.  The final two "comedians" weren't much better.  I guess I should have known that was a Rogan guy.

Lily Thai is a much more interesting Austin resident (or former resident) to talk about.

Buddy of mine was dating her for a minute when she first moved here.  Fun chick to party with.  That has to be damn near 20 years ago.

I liked Rogan up until about 10 years ago when he went from being a fun stoner to negatively influencing way more folks than a pothead comedian ever should.  Saw him at Cap City in like 02? 03? and it was a great show, as was another at ACL/Moody a couple years later.  The willful ignorance for engagement is simply enraging to me.  I'll never spend a dime at his place.

Fuck Hinchcliffe's racist ass.  I'll cheer if he ever gets hit by a cement truck.

I am bummed about Cap City's new spot at the Domain compared to the 183/Burnett location.  New one feels like someone made a stage out of a high school classroom or something.

We've only been once (Brian Posehn a month or two ago) and it wasn't bothersome, other than being in the Domain.  The old version was about as clean as a Thai brothel.

It's just not a purpose built room like the old one was.  It's....fine?  Not like the old one was some cathedral to comedy, but it felt much more like a "legit" venue and the new one just feels ...idk?  temporary?  hurried?
