  1. Past hour
  2. A bolt action Mauser rifle? What a weird choice. Isn't that like an antique? A German gun from WW1 and WW2?
  3. The EO says any institution accepting money from Federal government/State government has to follow the content of the EO. Texas A&M falls into this. This professor challenged this by pushing her view about genders. There is a consequence to that. If you think the employees of Texas A&M don't have to follow the EO, simply file a lawsuit in state or federal court and make the same arguments you are making here on Surly. Posting them here isn't going to get you what you want. The last President created the DEI EO and our society didn't agree with it. Specifically, the majority of Texas and Americans didn't accept it. As someone pointed out earlier things like genders are determined by society. Society (US and Texas) had a vote and this is what was decided. The professor doesn't have to agree with it. They can teach where their views/beliefs are aligned.
  4. Gotcha, we're agreed. A lot of people seem to be saying it in a "well he was actually privately a good guy and his public persona shouldn't matter" way that makes no damned sense.
  5. Likely because the shooter isn't sophisticated
  6. JE was "interviewed" and said something like "you can't really contend without at least two elite DS." I was a little bit orlly? He's learned a lot.
  7. Getting out into the weeds here, while such evidence - presuming it exists - would damage tfg's ego, I'm not so sure it damages his brand. Those who have drunk the kool-aid, have, well, drunk the kool-aid. There is no fact that will make them pivot. They'll say, "Well, Putin was 'directionally correct'" and just keep on down their path of submission to their orange god. From there it's a short hop to "well if our orange idol says Ukraine is bad, and his buddy Putin says Ukraine is bad - then Ukraine bad." We're essentially there already.
  8. Texas - 48 UTEP - 13 305 yards passing for WRs. Add 80 more between TEs and RBs.
  9. Also 84 (!!) digs. By a Texas team?? 18 for Stafford 17 for Emma 12 for Ramsey 10 for Binney 9 for Ella
  10. Has he asked for any tips on how to remain at large?
  11. Thats about 100 less passing than UT Martin and the same as Utah State. It's 10 more points than UT Martin scored. This comes to pass, fire everyone and close down the football program, it's broken.
  12. If you're just going to drop the rifle somewhere anyway, why bother taking it from the rooftop?
  13. Today in magat world they're taking the death of an guy who espoused hatred and violence, and are using it to force people to mourn his death and trying to punish them if they don't adequately comply. They're also confused about "not being sufficiently mournful" and "celebrating."
  14. Yeah. This shit stopped being funny besides just straight up gallows humor long ago.
  15. I have seen drops, but I don't think I've seen shitty WR play in general. Some of you are being a bit harsh. We know the floor for this team, we saw it against Ohio State, and against SJSU. The worst games this teams plays still result in a likely playoff run, but a team that was better than year 2 sark by a country mile. The ceiling is what everyone wants to see, it's underwhelming to come out the first 2 games and see flashes of what could be if consistent and what ends up being when the team commits a lot of mental mistakes. That's my theme for this team right now - ridden with mental mistakes. How much of that is lack of maturity? How much of that is lack of effort? How much of that is lack of experience? How much of that is lack of trust? Those are the questions we should be asking. Sark has alluded to players making mental mistakes as "trying too hard" or "caring too much". That is maturity. I haven't seen a lack of effort play this season, but I have seen Jordan Washington do jack shit to tackle a guy when he saw the ball was wildly underthrown. That's lack of experience. There's a lot to be very high on this team about still, but here we are nitpicking a team that has double digit new starts between both sides of the ball, has been playing tons of freshman and has yet to find its true identity. UTEP should be a building game, or we will learn that these guys are slow to pick up on how to correct.
  16. Even with lackluster American support, I presume a Polish brush fire would sell end badly for Russia?
  17. It was the alphabet people. I just won a $10 bet if anyone is curious.
  18. Weird that you're going to be thinking about another woman during a trip to London with your wife. Everything okay at home?
  19. Yeah, I think I’m gonna have to rethink my opinion on this and start to side with @ztejas. Pablo is baiting these idiots, dripping out damning info, and trapping them in a morass of their own making. Ballmer going on ESPN was just a huge mistake. The first rule of breaking the rules is to shut the fuck up. The more they talk, the tighter the screws. God, it’s refreshing seeing real journalism at work, even if it is just a stupid sports story.
  20. Really with you on Skinner. Also, at UK, she was admittedly a burnout, even with or maybe because of an NC under her belt. I think last year she was a burnout again.
  21. No matter how much you neg my baby, you still won’t be able to stop me from using all of your recommendations from the London Food & Travel thread for my trip next spring. You’ll have to deal with the fact that my wife and I are going to have a great time thanks to you. It will be her first trip to London, you’re going to make it special with your hotel and restaurant recs. Maybe I’ll DM you pictures of the fine Sunday Roast will be having.
  22. The internet fury started being real life in 2015.
  23. Loved her in 2022 as a complement to Logan and then in 2023, but something felt super off about her in 2024. Her outside of volleyball stuff seemed to interest her a lot more
