  1. Past hour
  2. Absolutely braindead play by Kelly....That is baseball 101... WTF?!
  3. this thread's quiet enough so surely nobody will mind a short clip of Caleb Williams at (edit (this week's) drills
  4. Ok, balk, bad play, whatever, but lifting him at 69 pitches?
  5. Holy fucking shit if we get out of this inning less than 6 down I’ll be shocked. Merrill you dipshit
  6. In a world where anything goes as planned for the '25 Astros, Smith gets frequent days off, accounting for the fact that he has only spent 32 games in the minors and has never played anything remotely close to a 162-game season.
  7. We have a pretty active annual thread for this: https://www.surlyhorns.com/board/topic/39920-2025-golf-i-dont-think-the-heavy-stuffs-gonna-come-down-for-quite-a-while/page/5/#comment-7230901
  8. Garcia had no idea how to play that
  9. I’m serious, guys. The Divine can be found in many places. One of those places is in the Damariscotta River, where they raise what I’ve discovered to be the finest oysters in the world. If you love oysters and visit Maine, spend some time here. They even offer an oyster tour of the river, which I would take if we were here for the day. And the Blackstones and John’s Rivers I ordered for dessert.
  10. Good God. If your "closer" has above a 3 ERA he's basically a hack. Garcia is fucking halfway to 5. For every inning pitched he's at 3.05 on the year. LeClerc in '23 was 2.68 and 3.29 for the playoffs.
  11. Very clever dinner. Appetizing food fit neatly into interesting round pie.
  12. Fuck your mother and your sister blue
  13. And, we stopped for a snack at the Shuck Station in Damariscotta. Glad they had something for my non-oyster-fan wife: scallop ceviche, which was crazy good: And my order: Jesus. Tapdancing. Christ. Blackstones: the most balanced of the briny oysters. Kind of a three-way tie with the Bar Harbor Blondes and the Pemaquids. Norumbegas: the boldest of the briny ones. John’s River: the most balanced, briny start, sweet finish. Heron Island: outstanding…but 4th place on this plate. I may order a couple more Johns River and Blackstones, because life is for living. Maine oysters are the best I’ve ever had, fellas. And I’ve eaten a LOT of oysters. https://www.surlyhorns.com/board/index.php?/topic/43813-Favorite-oysters
  14. If we ever get Jake back, gonna need Cam to have a mysterious 10 day IL stint
  15. Finally a shot to get some momentum and Caratini and Smith both K with men on 2nd and 3rd.
  16. Awful at bats there.
  17. Smith has been horrible at the plate for a few weeks now. Hitting his rookie slump
  18. Well, that's exactly why he didn't name said QB. That leaves room later for whoever invariably replaces Reed at mid October as "The Fix". He knows he audience well enough to know they can't connect the "complex" dots. Even better, worse come to worse he gets to use that when he incorrectly picks aggie to beat tu. "Well, I said it before the season". I doubt he goes that way, but it is an out if he needs it.
  19. Relatedly, the Sherwin Williams logo never fails to bewilder me. Who wants anything even remotely similar to that???
