  1. Past hour
  2. The Astros immediate scoring response just further demonstrates the deity of His Wagerness on the mound.
  3. That was really weird to watch. I mean it worked, but felt wrong. Never seen that before.
  4. Who wears short shorts?!?
  5. Do you or he think this is likely to happen again?
  6. Does their RF have a hose? You gotta score on a double from first.
  7. I don’t disagree with anyone upset about the noaa cuts, but haven’t we learned that despite that the forecasts and warnings were made, they were just not heeded? This seems like more of a local government failure at this point. Not that I even feel like assigning blame at this point, a very tragic situation with a very small margin of error for making decisions. I know that people could’ve done better and they will have to live with that. I just hope lessons are learned and that those affected can find peace and comfort. I know the former might be too much to ask for.
  8. Shortman ties it up!
  9. I see you shawty
  10. I wish Dubon would have hit ball boy/security guy....so dumb that is their protocol. "Hey run on the field on play"
  11. Ballboy running like a scalded cat into fair territory on that Dubon hit. Weird.
  12. Yesterday
  13. What is this, a slice for ANTS?? (looks good)
  14. Clemson really wanted him, I think, so he he could be a nice get. Clemson’s track record with DL evaluations is pretty darned good.
  15. I'm sorry I don't have anything to add except how awful I feel about all of this. One thing that is clear, though - our statistical models are chasing climate change and unfortunately appear to not be equipped to catch up. We're using what is called Atlas 14 (NOAA's newest prediction model for precipitation) and it falls way short of the rainfall totals we're seeing in localized areas. Is it possible that these events are way outside the normal probabilities of exceedance? Yes, it's possible. It's not statistically likely given the frequency of exceedance, though. As I was telling a licensed engineer who was revising a (500 year!) floodplain the other day, you're just weighing the odds of a larger event against the cost of increasing fill/conveyance. It's ultimately not going to matter if the design storm is inadequate; the fault will lie entirely on whoever is promulgating a maximum exceedance event as less than its actual volume. Engineers can only do so much with the data provided, and climate change is making it so the backwards looking statistical models are just not adequate in a lot of cases.
  16. Awful. I can't imagine they will find them all. A friend of mine lost his wife in a torrential river flood and they never found her body. She went into the Brazos at I-10 near Brookshire/Sealy. The sheriff told him she could be a few hundred yards away in the woods or a field, or she could be washed out into the Gulf. Said he'd seen it all when it came to the power of water. These poor families.
  17. And so are you? Political decisions kill lots a people everyday, from not cleaning out forests in California and when a fire starts, it burns because of lawsuits to slashing budgets. The thing happening is the news, the reasons are also news, then going "this party doing this thing cause they hate whatever, and led to this disaster." Is opinion and not news but politics.
  18. Ohtani out...time to pound these dorks
  19. Yeah, let us not forget that DOGE blasted email to everyone giving them a deal to retire/resign that included an implicit threat that if you don't, you'll be terminated.
  20. I’m so glad Jessie did Showgirls. She probably thought she was taking a swing at a bigger career. Hollywood knew she was already washed, but let her swing away. We all benefited because we saw Jessie Spano’s goods.
  21. That area is called "The Slab"
  22. Hey now, there are quite a few F1 fans on this board, the F1 thread is one of the lengthier ones on the Other Sports board, and several of us have chimed in on this thread with positive reviews of the movie. I don't recall THIS guy posting on the F1 thread so I wouldn't say he's an F1 super fan at all.
  23. Not really understanding the logic of the Griz trading huff to the pacers. They picked up Landale off the scrap heap. It seems like a big downgrade. The pacers get a guy who is 80% of turner on a cheap contract.
  24. I’m enjoying seeing the Game 7 jerseys in Dodger Stadium again.
