  1. Past hour
  2. It's hysterical that a vast group of the posters here in the Daily Texan are such snowflakes. Grow thicker skins.
  3. I think both teams will end up ranked between 10-20 at the end of the year. Quite a bit of talent all around but some flaws that prevent either from being a real contender. Freeman is a good coach and the schedule gets significantly easier from here.
  4. Sounds like you’ve already spotted the key risks family dynamics, probate surprises, and closing costs are all bigger variables than they first appear. I’d treat it like any complex property deal: assign value to each goal, talk it through with a Texas estate attorney, and get everything in writing early.
  5. Clipped for space. An additional comment from that sm account is that the SK media outlet that published that op-ed on the detention/deportations is left leaning but left leaning in that they support the current US admin. She continued the thread with additional news accts of South Koreans chanting 'we are Charlie' etc. As for the article itself, which was translated from Hangul if I had to guess (not a languages expert), the phrase "far rights may have secretly rejoiced," --seemed to me that there was nothing secret about it. Groups are pretty open with the hate these days and appear by all accounts rather proud of it....unless it serves the purpose to play the victim, in which case the hood becomes replaced with a halo.
  6. So crime of passion? Shooter feels girlfriend was disrespected so murders man in front of his wife and kids.
  7. He's turning into a Groomzilla. Wedding planning is stressful
  8. he’s worse this year than he was last year, so no, “he’s just not that good” isn’t the answer. he has regressed, majorly, and his throwing motion is awkward and different from what it was last year. the “maybe he’s just not that good” crowd sound like some really really hopeful quinn apologists.
  9. This is definitely true. He did throw some short passes sidearm last year but his default motion was with his arm in an L shape - I.e. ball overhead. Now seems like everything is sidearm. If he’s not hurt, then it goes back to footwork. Sidearm enables shitty footwork. They should be chewing his ass when he doesn’t square his shoulders on film and in practice.
  10. Not even dead a week and they have a DEI hire hosting his show
  11. This. He might be the worst Texas QB in the last 40 years based on the first 3 games of this year.
  12. This team will suck ass until Manning is gone.
  13. Today
  14. See Brian Kelly postgame Florida presser.

    La Liga 25-26

no puedo contarlos, como opra...you get a goal and you get a goal...
  16. A&M missed that 52 yd attempt. We think we got unlucky but we had that missed fg and a special teams TD.
  17. Vance has no moral compass. His animating force is grievance and resentment, borne from anger and shame about his early station in life. He’s spent his entire life trying to join the “elites,” all the while inventing mostly imaginary slights at their hands at every step of the way as motivation. This is despite a pretty clear record of being welcomed by the elites with open arms. And he is the best example of the primal motivation of the American reactionary right: the demand that the libs and minorities they shit on like them. Maybe an odd comparison but he reminds me of the MJ we saw in the Netflix series. Here’s a guy who received nothing but universal accolades once he made the varsity basketball team and yet he invented fictitious insults to motivate him. He was incandescent with rage at the idea of the opposing team trying to win a basketball game and considered it a personal affront. And it really did motivate him to be the best ever but it also gets you things like his truly unhinged HOF acceptance speech; unable to appreciate what he’d accomplished. JD Vance is like that except establishing eternal authoritarianism instead of a basketball dynasty.

  19. Exactly. They're all bat-shit crazy cultists.
  20. Maximillian Kolbe was a Polish priest who was sent to Auschwitz for hiding Jews in his monastery. Although he had German ancestry he refused to sign the document claiming it and thereby receiving rights of a German citizen when arrested. Once he got there, he volunteered to be killed in place of of a man who had a family, as part of a collective punishment for a prisoner escape. He led ten other prisoners in prayer in an underground starvation bunker until guards lost patience and gave them lethal injections. So yeah, lots of parallels to debating college kids American campuses and being a MAGA operative. Side note, Kolbe deserves much better than the “Christian movie” treatment.
  21. Not terrible it’s just that the red pony and blue stripes are so good that anything else is a downgrade.
  22. Are you still in CD 10? Any decent contenders stepping up? There's a real piece of work we're having to deal with running (supposedly) in 17. With all the redistricting, I will be moving from 17 to 10, if it all holds up.
  23. I’m drunk thank a mfer. But Tejas is a good dude had a few nights kicking it in Addison 7-8 years ago. Good thing about the timezones it’s only 2 here
