ND took a self imposed 45 year hiatus from bowls until the late 60s coincidentally when the AP started voting after bowl games for the national championship. Let them take their ball and go home, they'll be back when the sport moves on continues to thrive without them.
-
Well, you're in luck then. Be sure to tune into the Cricket Celebration Bowl and the Bucked Up LA Bowl, because both of those games are being played next weekend. I'm sure dozens will be enthralled.
-
Any of you geezers remember when Notre Dame eschewed bowls altogether because “academics.” My guys went 11-0 in 1966 and crushed a decent Nebraska team 34-7 in the Sugar Bowl with Snake Stabler as MVP. We ended up ranked 3rd behind ND (no bowl) and Michigan State (won Rose Bowl). The ND / MSU game in Radt Landing was televised by ABC. They played to a 10-10 tie (no overtime then). The game ended with MSU trying valiantly to win but turning it over on downs at midfield to ND, which took a knee for several plays until the clock ran out. So yeah, fuck ND in the cassock ass.

This dude cracks me up. He's in those Badman videos lol. Incompetent Batman is hilarious. -
Duh! That’s why they declined it!

Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs

ND already refused to play in a bowl game. Maybe they initiate the series cancellation? -
84 years later and it's the USA that's gone full fascist. Lessons learned then weren't passed down. The economic and political destruction of the current USA will teach the same lessons learned from 1929 to 1945 to a whole new generation of Americans.

Seems very non-lawyer-y.
-
hell yes we want to see football played next weekend!!
-
So an MOU is typically just an outline of a future and more specific binding agreement. They (whoever it is that is the other party?) need to impose some parameters on this if they ultimately agree to it….like: provided, however, the teams that Notre Dame must have collectively played X Teams from the Power 4 conferences, and those teams must have a minimum collective winning percentage of Y
-
And the previous approaches were fine, BCS and the 4-team "playoff"?? And before that, the AP voted 1 and 2 and they may or may not even play the game. College football is entertaining but is a joke on they handle crowing a champ. It's getting better because you are getting more than a few teams to get a legit shot. I feel they need to add more teams. CFP isn't ruining it. the committee and ESPN are and have ruined it.

Baylor at 5-7 was in a bowl?

That's really the only benefit now.

that's a no-win proposition for them - they get nothing from crushing them byu are fcs-terrible fraud-tastic another half-dozen or so bowl opt-outs and we are in business on the bowl season bonfire burn it down
-
Which bowls are you talking about? There are already bowls that get played starting next weekend, and nobody fucking watches them except fans of the shitty teams that are playing in those games. And you want to see bowls starting even earlier in the month, i.e., the first weekend in December?
-
Playing in a bowl game allows more practice. It's not nothing.

It could be they're trying to harness the resources and brain power of humans to take over the next planet. If you've got 8 billion people all working together seamlessly on whatever problem you have, you can come up with some solutions pretty quick. Every empire in history has tried to use the resources they just took over to expand more, but now you don't need to worry about pesky rebellions. -
Post a pic that makes you say "Holy shit."

Bonus: after looking at it for the last 19 years, you've grown a third nipple. -
Baylor just announced they are declining their bowl game. This seems to be gaining traction and I'm all for it. Bowl games are a pointless exhibition affair that mean zero. Even more so now with the playoffs. Even before this, it was common for many players to opt-out of these games.

guess 9-3 isn't getting in. When do we cancel the upcoming ND series? -
it won't cost a dime surprise nuclear first strike declaration of sovereign immunity terms: get back to us when you have joined a conference; fbs games scheduled against you will be invisible in all stats, and those games will be considered exhibitions de-platformed erased free
