No, no. I have been assured that Sark is a stubborn, drunken idiot that won't change anything to fit his players especially since his personal life is out of control.

Kiffin has always reminded me of another guy that desperate people would call upon to fix a short term problem, and who will have a measure of immediate success, but who “doesn’t play well with others” and will ultimately cause more chaos than he is worth. And now, in Baton Rouge . . .

TheYoungHorn replied to Wulaw Horn's topic in Football
Yeah, but what I just posted is as close as you are going to get, at least for this years mess. I would have to go back last year to see. In this case your only real arguments would be Michigan vs. Utah/BYU or Virginia if they lost to Duke. -

Would still be better to not schedule a marquee OOC matchup in 16 format. You’d want to position yourself for the opening round home game. -

I actually did some math wrong, that number should only be 17 wins out of 56 games. So they beat teams with a combined 12 wins in the SEC. South Carolina, Auburn and Miss State all one each. (3 total) Florida (2) LSU (3) Missouri (4) This is just like the 2020 season. Aggies beat no one, but don't drop their typical bone-headed games, and end up with "best season ever" status. -

Would have to go to a 16 team playoff and still doesnt fix the unbalanced nature of the conferences. Michigan's best win all year might be Nebraska. They also didnt play Indiana or Oregon just like OSU. They got blown out by USC. They don't deserve any mention of a playoff spot. There's no way this gets fixed any time soon if ever. The conferences are going to be wildly unbalanced. That's why it makes no sense for an SEC team to schedule a difficult OOC game because the SEC schedule is mostly brutal compared to any other conference's schedule. -

Actually I apparently did the Aggie math wrong. I think their opponents are actually 18-46, I somehow gave them more credit. -
Gomers will just state they did not have room in the "Hall of Champions" for another trophy I bet?

Especially Alabama who also had a loss OOC to a terrible Florida St team. So you would have to throw out their loss if you throw out our loss. Which makes them a 1 loss team. There's no good way to put us in without screwing over another team with a better record. The committee isn't going to do that unless that team has an injured QB. Even if that team beat no one all season and we beat 3 top 10 teams and lost to the #1 and #3 teams in the final standings. Only real way to do NFL scheduling is to take ths top 32 programs in the country, break it off into a separate level of college football, create 2 conferences and 8 divisions of 4 teams. So basically it becomes NFL Lite. -

TheYoungHorn replied to Wulaw Horn's topic in Football
I said the solution for the whole thing, not just for SEC. If there was 64 teams in 8, 8 team "divisions" and you win your division you are in. If you are part of a "stronger" division or pair of "divisions" maybe your contract already awarded you more spots. This of course would be in a theoretical 64-team super league that doesn't look any closer to appearing than it did 14 years ago. Under the current system, say up to 16 teams where Big 10 and SEC agree on 4 autobids each, with 1 G6, 1 Big 12, 1 ACC. That leaves only 5 at-large, and often Notre Dame is going to take 1 of those. So really only 4. If the compromise is Big 12-ACC get one floater between them, then there are only 3 wild cards for Big 10/SEC each year. So this year you could see SEC get 7, Big 10 only get their 4 and the rest fall the way they would. SEC: Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, A&M, OU, Vandy, Texas Big 10: Ohio State, Indiana, Oregon, Michigan? G6: American Winner Notre Dame ACC Winner and Miami if Texas Tech wins Big 12 Winner: Texas Tech or if Tech loses -
that's the first time i've seen the new accidental double touch rule applied.

Except that OSU effectively plays a 2 game season every year. A Big Ten schedule simply isn't comparable to an SEC schedule. -

Or yet another way, their only loss in conference was to a team with 6 conference wins. That means the teams they beat in conference had a combined 13 conference wins. For 7 teams. -

Maybe we go to nfl style scheduling? I love early marquee games but I love the playoffs more. We don’t have to schedule Maine or the citadel but maybe a team like Rutgers or Minnesota? not all conferences are created equal. That being said I would be pissed if i were a bama or ou fan and got jumped by three loss texas
