So I had to go back and watch part of 6 over, then 7 to try to understand why the rig wasn't running. Geologist dude said he wasn't leaving for 3 days until the well came online. But all the hands are prepping for a low riders parade, like rigs normally run M-F 8-5 schedules. Good thing they are making so much money, since they decide to rest their rigs about 60 hours out of a 168 hour available hours a week. About as dumb as the backwards wrench stuff mentioned above.

  13. A little reality on the predicament we find ourselves in: Over the past 50 years, the dominant corporate model has prioritized offshoring production and maximizing shareholder returns while systematically de-industrializing the American economy. The resulting concentration of wealth is astounding; the combined market capitalization of five leading U.S. technology firms now exceeds the total market capitalization of China's four largest banks. We spent $8 trillion on post-9/11 wars and homeland security (see, Costs of War" project at Brown University (https://costsofwar.watson.brown.edu/costs/economic/us-federal-budget)). These conflicts produced protracted and indecisive outcomes while generating significant revenue for defense contractors. This focus on military spending has come at the expense of domestic investment. The American Society of Civil Engineers consistently assigns poor grades to the nation's infrastructure (citing chronic underfunding). As capital flows disproportionately to financial markets, many working Americans contend with stagnant wages in an economy increasingly skewed toward capital over labor. Truncated The aggregate effect of this mal-investment is a hollowing-out of our national capacity and capability. This is the result of policy choices that favored financialization, global military engagement, and short-term corporate profit over broad-based public investment and resilience. America’s trajectory, unfortunately, will be remembered as a lesson in the long-term consequences of neglecting foundational economic and social infrastructure. We have neither the will nor the common sense to alter our unfortunate trajectory. “We live in a world in which you can talk all you want about international niceties and everything else, but we live in a world, in the real world, that is governed by strength, that is governed by force, that is governed by power. These are the iron laws of the world since the beginning of time.” Stephen Miller, CNN Interview, 6 January 2026 “The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. Power is not a means; it is an end.” George Orwell, 1984

  20. U.S. Vice President JD Vance participated in an interview recently with Fox News commentator Jesse Watters, discussing several topics, including the recent military operation in Venezuela: Watters: “Taking out a dictator in Venezuela, how does that help the average American?” Vance: “First of all, what it means is we're going to be able to control the incredible natural resources of Venezuela, which is good for America in a few ways. Number one, it allows us to put leverage on our enemies. Number two, it makes sure that if Americans need high quality, low cost power, we're always going to have access to it. And then the third thing is it does demonstrate American military excellence, which makes people afraid to cross us in the future. Some of the best ways that you maintain the peace is to make it clear that you carry a very strong sword if you ever need to use it.” He's not even hiding that it's about the oil and not the drugs.
