  1. Past hour
  2. This is a perfect Surly thread. You idiots are just naming all the good Christmas movies and saying they suck. A real bunch of assholes up in here. Bravo.
  3. Yeah we were lucky to survive a couple rookie moments from Harper down the stretch. He said talking with the Prime guys postgame that he thought he should have had like 3 and 1s and they agreed with him.
  4. IT with the likelihood a handful of players return Potential Transfer Players WR DeAndre Moore: IT thinks it’s likely the junior receiver will test his best financial option, whether that’s through the portal or the NFL Draft. This would be one of those tough choices for Sark, as Moore is held in a favorable light within the program. Percentage: 20% OL Connor Robertson: After finally getting real playing time, we’ve wondered if he’ll give up the sport or come back for one more season. After the A&M win, he looked somewhat satisfied with the way the year played out. We think Texas is working to keep him, however. Percentage: 40% OL Nate Kibble: IT had heard the young guard would test his options in the portal, but the staff has done a great job of explaining the big picture to him. He is in their plans. Percentage: 85% Edge Colton Vasek: There’s been a lot of talk about the local Edge entering the portal, but he is still practicing. Does that have something to do with Ethan Burke not playing? That gives him the chance for more snaps and perhaps to increase his transfer value. Or is he simply staying? I have not received great recent intel on his intentions. He’s a talented player but snakebitten when it comes to injuries. Percentage: 50% CB Kobe Black: The A&M game and thinning of the depth chart has Black’s return on a good trend line. Percentage: 85% CB Wardell Mack: The fact he’s still practicing gives Texas a chance to keep him, I suppose, but a coaching change, at minimum, likely needs to happen to have a chance. I hope he sticks because they’ve invested a lot of time in preparing him for Star/nickel. Percentage: 25% There could be more players in question, but these are the ones we’re focused on. I don’t have a great feel for the tight ends. We’ve heard Will Randle will transfer, but everything else has been quiet. Potential NFL Players OL Trevor Goosby: Texas has been preparing to keep Goosby all season. Everyone knows the importance of securing Manning’s blindside for next season and Goosby stands to benefit substantially from another year. He’s still a young guy. Percentage: 70% DT Hero Kanu: He’s made strong relationships in his short time at Texas and played well in his first year. Texas has a great selling point of developing older D-tackles and improving their draft slot. That is resonating. Percentage: 75% S Jelani McDonald: He understands if he returns he can be the first safety off the board in the 2027 NFL Draft. Texas knows getting him back is imperative. This one makes too much sense for both parties. Percentage: 75%
  5. IT with the likelihood a few coaches return WR Chris Jackson: Jackson’s contract is up at the end of this season, and we’ve heard of no attempts to re-sign him. That doesn’t mean it isn’t happening or will happen in the coming weeks, but it’s a bit odd we’re at this point. It seems to foreshadow a coaching change. Percentage: 25% OL Kyle Flood: You can stop scrolling now. With Texas bringing in a new running backs coach, and likely a new wide receivers coach, will Sark make a change on the offensive line? That’s a pretty big reset ahead of a massive season. While we’ve heard of Flood’s agents putting feelers out in a couple of cases, our most recent information, largely based on connecting portal “dots,” makes it seem like he’ll be back. Percentage: 60% S Duane Akina: We hear he’s going to be replaced and options are being researched. It makes zero sense for him to return. Percentage: 10%
  6. Or, and hear me out, he’s a fucking Sooner and expecting that of him is too much.
  7. And the cycle continues. New manager, new hope and then completely inconsistent play
  8. IMO, the Bari Weiss experiment at CBS News is going to fail miserably. Viewers have no appetite for this fake gravitas bullshit she is trying to peddle, particularly with an angle that is basically a soft porn version of Fox News. Trumpers want to see penetration. Erica Kirk is an absolute joke. She's already getting lots of pushback from the right. They aren't buying what she's selling. In the end, the blatant and pervasive misogyny within MAGA will reject Erica Kirk and Bari Weiss. I'll take it at this point.
  9. i’d forgotten about this post until someone repped it yesterday. reading it again 8-9 months later and it’s like, “yeah; he is who we thought he was.” disheartening.
  10. I had read a while back that Australia's version of the gun lobby had worked to relax some of the initial reforms done for gun ownership and that it was much easier to own a gun now versus ten years ago. https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2025/dec/14/australia-had-the-gold-standard-on-gun-control-the-bondi-beach-terror-attack-will-force-it-to-confront-its-surging-number-of-weapons Per this article, Australia currently has twice the amount of guns today than it did in 2001.
  11. no pg and no shooters was a bold choice.
  12. And the script could have been provided to him had the AD, HR, PR, etc. teams collaborated on process. Hell, they could have actually worked out a resignation with small severance had they all planned something. "I violated UM code; I am resigning etc." The OnlyFans and Instagram stuff could have also been embarrassing for the university, but it would have been less of a circus. I am honestly surprised that no one in the UM admin took action to have him hide/delete/etc. his instagram. As noted a while back, he was publicly following 100s of young women, influencers, and OF models. Go "private" or use a burner account if you must
  13. I’d like to humbly submit Oh. What. Fun. The only people that could possibly like this movie are retirees with a crush on. Michelle Pfeiffer. Brutally unfunny , set in Houston, and of course they shot every single frame in Atlanta. They didn’t even both with some establishing shots of Waterfall Park or the Sam Houston statue. And worst of all the theme is the most tired Christmas tradition of all. Nobody appreciates how hard moms work to make a nice a Christmas for their families.
  14. Should have done that as soon as Harbaugh walked away, but they were worried about Moore and others flipping on them to the NCAA so they paid him off. ETA: 2ndarily, they wanted to hold onto recruits like Underwood and hoped Moore could continue winning.
  15. we have three shooting guards coming in so far, and maybe one of them will be ready to have a real impact next year. the portal is going to be where we build our team, and as of now, roster construction seems to be a hugely important but highly questionable aspect of miller’s time here. i’m not sure who from this team will return as an impact payer, and again, we won’t be able to depend on the freshmen. it’s fair to look ahead and ask, “how does this team end up being competitive next year?”
  16. I’m going to let Jim Mora sum up my thoughts on today
  17. From Bobby this morning: The speed with which Steve Sarkisian let go of Chad Scott and replaced him with Jabbar Juluke was faster than I can recall any other assistant spot being filled by Sark. While I was not told this, I have to think it comes down to a combination of culture fit and recruiting. Tashard Choice was a great fit for Sark at the RB coaching spot. Lots of energy and a certain vibe Sark wanted for his staff. A fearless recruiter as well. Scott was a little more reserved than Choice and perhaps a different style of recruiter. One thing I was told that certainly came true: Sark wanted a coach with deep ties to a major metro area in the Deep South. In talking to someone who covers the University of Florida, he said that Juluke not only has some juice on the field but also off of it in recruiting. In sum, I think he fits what Sark wants more than Scott did and that’s likely why Sark made the move so quickly.
  18. I’m just going to point out a few things. $55,000 is the starting point. $90,000 is the ending point. $110,000 is double of $55,000. $35,000 is the difference between $90,000 and $55,000. (NOT $50K.) 63.63…% is the percent increase in salary from $55,000 to $90,000. ($35K / $55K = .6363636363… or 63.63…%.)
