Fuck no.

No offense, but you probably haven't worn one of these masks for any length of time. 3-4 hr. or longer session with an N 95 on? Hell no, that is not an option. Trust me. And for all the BS about wearing a bandana or cloth mask, they are fucking worthless for stopping anything other than large sputum from people talking too close, yelling, or being pissed.  Also, like you stated it would create great confusion as to what people say, or said during a hand.

Unless you are switching out gloves between every time you get up from the table or touch anything , you are creating cross contamination. They would need switching out constantly. Nobody is doing that. People need to learn to wash their fucking hands. Properly. Quit sticking their fat sausage fingers covered in (pick your favorite wing sauce here) in their mouths while playing a hand.

Stay the fuck home when you are sick, have a cough, or any other respiratory ailment (ie. the blonde know-it-all stripper from APP) before coming to a card room/casino/home game and coughing on everyone there.

And most importantly, the clubs need to wash their fucking chips more than once a year.

Yep....didn't want to completely out her on here ( as I'm sure someone thinks she is totally great or whatever), but she is annoying as hell.

I was there one day and Tanya the dealer and Tanya the player were at the table behind me.

Our dealer wanted to ask dealer Tanya a question and yells out Tanya!. Crazy Tanya stands up and says "Yes?"

Dealer says "Not you, the good looking one"

The disappointment and sadness on crazy Tanya's face was incredible as she sat back down.

Quick question for the board.

7-handed $0.50/$1.00 game on the Pokerrrr2 app. Hand No. 61. $56.00 effective stack. The Button is the villain.

I open UTG+1 with Q spades Q clubs to $3.00, which was the standard raise. HJ, Button, and SB call.

$13.00 in pot. Flop is 7 diamonds 5 spades K clubs. check, check, check, and Button bets $5.00. SB calls and I call with the plan to fold to a big turn bet. HJ folds.

I've played with the Button a lot over the last five years and he may have a K but he certainly doesn't have to. The SB is terrible. She could have 10-J of hearts here. Seriously. I've seen her call in a multiway pot hoping to hit a runner-runner straight.

Pot is $28.00. Turn was the Q of hearts, it checks to me and I bet $21.00 thinking every K is calling. Button shoves, SB folds, and I call. Button has AK offsuit.

Anyway, the Button starts berating me over the app about what a terrible donkey player I am. Are y'all ever folding QQ there to that flop bet?

And why didn't he raise with AK? I would have. If had raised to $10.00 preflop I would have called. If he had bet half the pot on the flop I would have considered folding. Probably wouldn't have though.

I’m peeling that flop every time. Fuck him.

I’m cbetting that flop, but as played I’m certainly calling him. He bet 1/3rd pot on flop and didn’t want QQ to call? What?

Playing a $0.50/$1.00 game on the Pokerrrr2 app. Hand No. 152.

I've been running over the table. I've picked off some bluffs and have gotten good cards at the right times.

It folds to me at UTG+3 and I raise A diamonds J spades to $3.00, which was my standard open. Others had been opening more, and others less. It folds to the SB who calls with a $109.56 stack, and the BB, with a $263.64 stack, calls.

$9.00 in pot. Flop is 7 hearts 5 clubs J diamonds. Check, check, I bet $4.50, SB calls.

$18.00 in pot. Turn is A of hearts. Check, bet $9.00 and SB raises me to $45.00. He has $57.56 left.

I don't think anyone's ever made a play like this against me, ever. I've played with the villain five or six times and I don't recall any check raises from him in a cash game. He did a bizarre check raise in a tournament last week against me and another guy, when both of us were obviously strong, and he folded after we both called.

Anyway I folded. I could have a set here, but other than that AJ is the best hand I'll have in this spot. He has to have 5-5 or 7-7 right? Did he turn a flush draw and just decide to go crazy?

Too nitty? How would you have played it?

Jam.

So many Houston poker rooms getting ready to open.  Not to get too political, but I'm not playing for now.  Too many rake free online games were set up by my regular home game friends.  Anyone else playing again?  Thoughts on the "safety" precautions being taken?

I’ve been ignoring home game invites for last two months. Not gonna lie though, I’m tempted this weekend. Could covid really be any worse than how bad I run?

No way in hell I'm going to a room this year.

No poker game is worth dying over. I don't care what shields are put up, if one person at the table has it everyone will have it after a few hours between the air and the chips.

I feel bad for the dealers that will return trying to save their livelihood. No chance in hell I step back into a casino until maybe 6 months after a vaccine is released.

I’m already seeing regs on the BestBetJax Facebook page arguing for 9 handed for players that want it. Insane.

Man I’m on a rough run lately... had chip lead at a multi table by 20k (10k buy in) multiple times and didn’t cash tonight.

Had a guy full on bluff my with bottom pair by going all in (no straight or flush draw on the board). I call with top pair + A and he proceeds to get runner-runner for a FH.

Then had another guy catch runner-runner for quads in basically the same situation...

May need to take a break.

looks like the Lodge is opening on Monday. Good luck with that, although  when your entire customer base is comprised of gamblers, I guess it increases the odds people will show.

It's not a home game invite.  It's an online game with all our home game regulars.  We have Zoom up as well.

Have you thought about hosting a game online?

Collusion is a possible issue with hosting online. Not as big a deal with NLH, but if I played Omaha I'd be worried about friends telling each other their hole cards, especially if you're playing decent stakes.

You might want to look for some new friends.

I don't mean my friends. If two friends are at the table I can see it happening. "Hey I folded the ace of spades, so he doesn't have the nut flush."

I've been hosting a lot of cash games on the Pokerrrr2 app. There are a lot of players I don't know personally. I don't play much Omaha, but it seems  like card removal can be very important in that game.

Quick question, and I'll try to keep it short.

Played last night for about six hours. Was card dead for 5.5 hours.

I get AK suited UTG, raise 3x,. Anyone paying attention would know that I had been folding for hours and now I'm raising UTG.

I get 3-bet by the hijack, 3x my bet. The cutoff cold calls.

It folds to me. We're relatively deep. The hijack is the donkey at the table and he's very loose, and he bluffs quite a bit, but rarely is he aggressive preflop. The cutoff could have a pocket pair or two broadway cards. He also is notorious for never re-raising with AA, KK, QQ, JJ, or AK. I've played with him a lot and I've never seen him do it. He has no 3-betting range.

With the cold call, is that a mandatory 4-bet normally?

Collusion has long been the primary concern w online poker. The providers aim to prevent it, but it’s difficult.

No. You’re out of position vs two players. See a flop but prepare to bail if you miss. Check raise an A or K high flop, or flush draw.

The games online are truly the same exact guys that play our normal home game.  We just all log into a poker stars type program that someone hosts and then all log into Zoom so we can see what people are doing.  Rake free, but there are some monthly costs to host the program.

I'll go, once things open up here in Portland. I'm not an old, and don't have any health concerns.

Yeah that sucks. Monday night was similar for me. I've been playing .25/.50 in zone poker online. Very fast paced so you can win/lose quite a bit of money in a short amount of time. Buy in $50. I had worked my way up to $90 and got JJ. Villian had KK. Flop 910J. I read it correctly that he had a big pocket pair and I raised his bet on the flop. Turn was a 5 and he bet again and I raised him all in. He thought about it for a long time and called. River was the Q. He had me covered too.

Rebuy for another $50, build my way to about $70, have 10 10, villian has 55. Flop was 347. He bets, I raise, he calls. Turn is a 10. He bets I raise, he shoves all in and I call. He hits the 6 on the river and also had me covered. Even though I had made the right plays and gotten my money in as a big favorite, I couldn't help but get tilted and lost another $50 before I quit for the night.  So yeah, Monday night -$150.

Tuesday night I start playing again and build my way to about $70. Get dealt 66. Flop is 446 with 2 diamonds. It's a 3 way pot and we all have between $65-70. Player one bets the pot and player 2 raises. I'm sitting there with a full house. So I call and player one shoves all in! Player 2 calls and I obviously do also. Player 1 has 45 and player 2 has AK of diamonds. I hold on and triple up. I made up my losses from Monday in one hand.

Variance sucks. Getting your money in as a 80% favorite means you'll lose 1 out of 5 times. It's a bitter pill to swallow but it happens. Play solid poker and in the long run you''ll make money.

Here are a couple of things I've noticed playing online.

I've noticed if somebody limps or does the minimum raise (.25/.50 they raise to 1.00) from early position they have a big pair and are begging to be raised. It's about the only time I simply call preflop.

Another thing I've picked up on is if you're in the blinds and everyone folds to the button if they raise less than 3 times the BB they are trying to steal (.25/.50 they raise it to 1.25) I always reraise no matter what cards I have and whether I'm in BB or SB. I would guess that 90% of the time they fold to my 3 bet. It's been quite profitable.

Venetian (LVRJ):

The Venetian plans to reopen its poker room June 5 with reduced hours and with four players to a table, as required by the state Gaming Control Board.

That start date is contingent, a Venetian spokeswoman said, on the approval of Gov. Steve Sisolak, who said Thursday that casinos could reopen June 4.

The poker room will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m., the spokeswoman said via email. Games will be played four-handed with a reduced rake (house cut) taken from each hand, she said.

Players will not be required to wear masks, but the poker room will have them available for patrons. Masks that obscure a person’s entire face are prohibited, she said.

Extra cleaning protocols will be used, including the sanitizing of the table rails, chairs and chips every two hours, she said. Plexiglass dividers will not be used at the tables.

The Venetian’s DeepStack tournament series will not run while these guidelines are in place, the spokeswoman said. The poker room will offer $100 buy-in, winner-take-all, single-table tournaments that start as soon as four players have registered.

Won $250 off of five neighbors in our first home game since this all started. It was nice to play again. BYOB, no food, lots of hand sanitizer. And we’ve all been trapped in the 160-home hood for two months and no one has it.

Yeah I played live poker on Sunday. Eight players, two guys giving away all their money, and one guy drunk off his ass. It was a great game.

First hand, when we were six-handed, I had AA in the SB. 0.50/1.00 game. Max buy-in was $100.00. Limp, limp, limp, limp, I raise to $9, and it goes call, fold, call, fold, call. $38 in the pot and the button only had $42 left. I take it down on the turn and the button says "I always call all raises preflop, because you don't know what you have until you see the flop." "Dude, absolutely," I replied.

The donkeys ran out of money early and the decent players started trading them cash in exchange for immediate payment by Venmo/Apple Pay. I even offered to take a check. It was hilarious. By the time it was done three players had lost all their money including what they had on Venmo and Apple Pay.

But in six hours I would be surprised if we got in more than 100 hands. After playing on the Pokerrrr2 app the game seemed so freaking slow.
