  1. We have a local carwash that's a drive-thru deal and you use the vacuums and towels yourself. Woman forgot to put her car in neutral and ran into the back of me. Her insurance was AAA. Because I was driving a Mercedes, they offered a "luxury" rental, and gave me a Cadillac SUV while mine was in the body shop.
  2. I ran autoslash for Irvine. Econobox for $131 for 7 days. That's less than $20 a day. You can probably get a decent midsize for 30 a day.
  3. Anybody who thinks it's a permanent solution is a fool, but it works fine for a short term deal 12-24 months or something. Gives a buyer a chance to get rid of debt and/or clean up credit to be able to get their own financing.
  4. what's her surly handle?
  5. Only a fucking idiot would fall into that trap. When I do this, I find an escrow/attorney/whatever, and the payments are made to that 3rd party, and that 3rd party has a fiduciary duty to pay the 1st every month.
  6. He'll probably ask you to contribute to the UCLA football NIL fund. Don't fall for it.
  7. Like Tony Soprano in Davey Scatino's sporting goods store.
  8. goats are complete and total assholes

I saw it today at my local supermarket (Albertson's). I avoid beer that doesn't contain alcohol. I like alcohol. I'm a big fan.
  10. you think that cunt EVER cared?
  11. Source was a buddy trying to get from LAX to DFW. Said that was the explanation that the airline agent gave him for the delay. Said that AA has cancelled 6 DFW flights in a row.
  12. SNA and ONT will be fine (barring any new fires, of course).
  13. There's a viral photo with a Sunset Bl. street sign and flames behind it. No idea where it was taken and what the depth-of-field happens to be.
  14. They are completely out of de-icing fluid and are telling every inbound flight to return or divert elsewhere.
  15. I used to work for a Chicago-based company and spent a lot of time there. I rarely saw a woman that turned my head. Lots of "hearty" women there
  16. I think I mentioned that when there were fires in San Diego many years ago, I took several days off at work and evacuated horses all over the county (had a truck and horse trailer, which was also used to haul beer to the old hornfans tailgates). A few of our horse friends did the same, and we all went caravan style. A local tack and feed store became central dispatch. The TV news and radio would tell people that needed help to "call Mary's", and once we were done with a run, we too called Mary's, and got the next assignment. The horses were hauled to the Del Mar race track, where volunteers on the ground would take the horses from us, get them in stalls with feed and water, etc. There we many times when I didn't know who's horse I had in the trailer...in those cases I'd tell the ground crew where I'd picked up the horses, and they would note it. After a few days, it calmed down considerably, and, upon arrival and unloading at Del Mar, Mary's told us that there were no other evacs needed at that time. So, we took a well-deserved breather, and somebody; a grateful horse owner IIRC, produced a cooler full of beer. So, we were just sipping our beers, and I walked along the stalls checking out some of the horses. The ground crew would use tape to mark the stall with the horse's name and place of origin, and "unknown" on the stalls of the strays. Anyway, we're walking along the stalls, the wife is feeding each horse a carrot, and I'm calling them by name and saying hello to them. Usual horse-type names..."Hello Billy Bob"..."Hello Bandit"..."Hello Charlie Brown". And then I come to a stall where the horse isn't hanging his head out. The tape on the stall reads "Emu". Hmmm. That's a funny name for a horse. So, in the fog of my exhaustion, I stick my head in the stall saying "where are you Emu" and of course, IT'S A FUCKING EMU ABOUT TO PECK MY FUCKING EYEBALL OUT. Scared the shit out of me but I avoided injury. Fox 32 is absolutely not a So Cal station. Fox is 11 in L.A.
  17. In CA; fires lead to mudslides, which are also highly destructive.
  18. a couple of notes: first off, Carolla is a complete moron. Kimmel told a funny story about the time Carolla decided that handwashing was "unnecessary bullshit", and said he wasn't washing his hands anymore. He had pinkeye within a few days. He was also hanging out in Kimmel's backyard, and needed to take a leak, so he decided that the appropriate place to piss was in the sandbox where Kimmel's kids play. As to insurance, the CA Association of Realtors revised out contracts a while back. Now, during the standard buyer-investigation period, buyers are instructed to investigate "insurability" of the property.
  19. here's the funny part...Matt fucking Gaetz could be elected Governor of a major state, and it could be an improvement over the guy he replaced.
  20. many years ago, when there were horrible fires around San Diego, I spent a week using my horse trailer to evacuate animals to the Del Mar Fairgrounds. It's one of the most rewarding things I've ever done...actually helping people in a crisis. Right up there with arguing with @Foosters about criminal law in CA.
  21. 2 things: GF was on a work trip and was flying from JFK-LAX. Pilots said it was too rough in LA to fly safely, so they diverted to Vegas. As to the Getty, the grounds there are spectacular. I prefer the outdoor space to the inside of the museum. If it was damaged, that sucks.
  22. smart people have gas engine pumps that they can drop in their pool
  23. lots of man ass
