  1. ^ FACT I've been to the Lake Austin Blvd. location a handful of times since they opened. It's damn nice having them back in the area. Their trailer behind Star Bar was a regular-ish lunch spot for work since it was a close walk to the office and we certainly missed having it as an option. Each location seems to have a noticeable variation in heat for the same named spice levels. The trailer seemed to have the hottest version of each spice level where the Burnet location was a little more mild... and Lake Austin Blvd. seems the most mild of each spice level between the three. That's not a complaint, simply an observation.
  2. With you as the face of the University most would choose to go elsewhere- what a fucking beating.

    High

Oh high! I'm still partaking, currently really digging the Strawberry Banana strain. Somehow I fell out of following this thread after the transition to Surly... will take a look around.
  4. Well, I guess it goes from God, to Jerry, to you... to the cleaners. Right, Kent?
  5. I visited Balmorhea in 2016- it's a fun little place and a bit of a surreal feeling being at the pool and looking across the desolate landscape toward the mountains. The night before I did one of the Star Parties at the McDonald Observatory during a new moon- it was bad ass.
  6. It's gorgeous. I spent a long weekend on some property that had very easy access to The Narrows. We spent all day out there 2 days in a row and never saw any other people. Krause Springs is a good one and a scenic drive as well, but as jimmyjazz mentioned, I think it'd be pretty damn tough to distance there... but it is open- maybe keep it on the list for post-pandemic swimming.
  7. Jane Wiedlin mentions that the 2nd bassist (Kathy Valentine) wrote Vacation while in her previous band (the Textones) and brought it over for for Go-Go's album. The original version is playing in the background during that segment. They don't mention Carla Olson, although her name shows up as credited to the B-side song of the Vacation single when the segment opens. They also mention that without that song on the album the outcome would've likely been very different for them.
  8. It turns out there's very much a reason and why its a worthy story. I had no idea- very worth watching.
  9. Nobody I knew in Austin was complaining about Fuddruckers closing... and I don't recall anyone lamenting its closure since it happened. I guess it depends on who you spend your time with.
  10. Vic Mackey posts from prison occasionally.
  11. Here's one of the ones I was remembering- according to the timestamp this is July 2012. Rest easy, Mia.
  12. Thanks for sharing the news Sydney, I'm sorry for your loss. I remember when you adopted her, and based on the handful of times meeting her she was most definitely a sweetheart. Glad to see the pic with McNelly's famous koozie involved too 🙂. Somewhere in the cloud I have an old photo or two of her from a certain midtown bar patio during one of my trips to Houston- will see if I can find them.
  13. I spent 2+ weeks in Roatan ~20 years ago for an extended dive trip. We did 30+ dives and never went to the same spot twice. It was gorgeous. No idea what it is like these days, but back then I can certainly understand wanting to live there for a while.
  14. Holy shit, do people really no longer know what slugs are, or is it a Millennial thing? Fuck.
  15. Yep, it was scheduled for April 25th this year. It has gotten much bigger (not surprisingly) but plenty of the old fun is still there.
  16. I've bought items from all categories they offer (various meats, cheese, bread, rice, pasta, snack food, coffee, butter, nuts, even some lamb tamales last week) and the prices are negligibly more or less than the grocery store depending on the item and week. A friend of mine did a comparison on his last delivery vs. HEB prices and for the same order IF was $5 less (the order had items across all of their categories). The produce is great too.
  17. I've been using them and they've been great in all categories. The prices are fair too- comparable to grocery store prices.
  18. That's fucked up. Mid last week my company (software) told everyone globally to work from home, and Friday was the last day any of our offices were open/accessible.
