  1. The power came back on ~45 minutes after the post above. It stayed on for a minute or two then out again... then came back on again 10 minutes later and has stayed on with a couple of blinks. I'm hoping it holds but at least have had some coffee now so if it goes out again it was a nice reprieve.
  2. Coming up on 24 hours without power (78704), good times. The outage status has been updated to "One or more crews have been assigned" but I suppose that can still mean sometime tomorrow before they get to it.
  3. Well, fwiw, there were people talking and breathing in all of them.
  4. Monday evening I took my first dose of Paxlovid and when I woke up Tuesday morning the fever, chills, and headache were gone and have not returned- all that remains is some lingering congestion. Fingers crossed things hold (and of course finishing out the Paxlovid in hopes of preventing the rebound experience some have reported).
  5. As of today I have Covid for the first time. I woke up with chills, fever, and congestion. A few hours later I did a home test and it was positive. I called my GP's office to see if there was anything to do beyond just ride it out and they gave me a Paxlovid prescription- just took the first dose. I'm current on vaccinations so hopefully it stays mild. The only symptoms so far have been chills, congestion, and fever (topped out at 102 this morning but has gone down a little since then). Not sure how I avoided it for so long. I've been out and about most days since Spring 2021- many festivals, travel, etc. and somehow had avoided it until now.
  6. I watched ep1 yesterday and thought it was very uninteresting but was planning to at least try ep2 today. That didn't happen, I'm done with this show after 1 episode. It's not for me.
  7. Good times
  8. I loved it. I hadn't seen the trailer and didn't know what it was about beyond the 2-sentence summary so I don't know if that aspect affected my enjoyment (no expectations going in). There's a whole lot going on and a lot of laughs. After getting into the swing of it I felt similarly as when watching Everything Everywhere All at Once- just roll with it and enjoy the ride w/out worrying about what's next or where it is going. There's a lot of creativity and artistry to appreciate in this one. It's a lot of fun, but I can see how it wouldn't be for everybody.
  9. Definitely worth watching. I saw it at a film festival back in September and of the 20+ films I saw that week it was in my top 2.
  10. South Irvine's mom.
  11. Good news- Tiddies still exits. I ordered a pair ~10 years ago and they are just as I remembered from the early 80s https://tiddiesshack.com/
  12. Owned by Hollis Jones and the Richeson family no doubt.
  13. Yeah, sure, whatever you say.
  14. Post 235
  15. Yeah, RPM is wrong on this one. The Mayfield ones are separate and not owned by Richeson.
  16. Sentenced to 11.25 years followed by 3 years of supervised release. (Prosecution asked for 15 years from the report I heard)
  17. 0.3 miles for me for 1st-5th, which is equivalent to my regular walk from my place to my neighborhood bar. The more things change, the more they stay the same I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  18. I mean, I'm hammered at a bar right now but ultimately it sounds like, based on your description, this wouldn't be happening if the drilling wasn't happening.
  19. Sounds correct. April of 1995 in Lubbock the people reporting the earthquake far away were on the 5th floor or higher in their buildings. The epicenter was similar that year- Alpine/Marathon instead of Pecos. I was on the 10th floor of a building in Lubbock and felt it (250-300 miles from the epicenter)- my clothes were swaying on their hangers and my neighbor's fish tank developed waves that started spilling over. My gf and I were on my bed watching a movie and she looked at me and said, "Are you doing that?". At first I didn't know what she meant but then noticed it right after (bed moving, hangers swaying) and that's when my neighbor burst in and yelled "WTF!?!?!?!" and told us about his fish tank. Anyway, tldr- when farther away you're more likely to feel it if you're on higher floors of buildings.
  20. Great time, and @immamac fucking killed it with the carnitas and waygu brisket- amazing work and much appreciated! Can't remember the last time i shotgunned a beer (guessing 15+ years ago) but the festivities today were perfect for it. Great to meet some longtime posters for the first time and see those of you I've known for ages. Thanks for hosting these immamac, and a shout out to @BornAndRaised for all the work he's put in to make things run smoothly!
  21. Hah, right on. 90% chance I'll be there by 3:00-3:30. (Full disclosure- that's the last couple rounds of beers & shots at Barton Springs Saloon speaking)
  22. I'm a solid maybe. If so I'll likely be there a bit before the 4:00 shotgun. Enjoyed the Alabama tailgate but haven't made it back since then... feels like it's time.
  23. I spent a few days in Cincinnati during the Summer of 2019- had an absolute blast and would definitely consider living there for a few years if I was looking to move. Awesome town.
  24. Would anyone object to you having your MIL put down?
