  1. Are you sure a rapid test will work for where ever you are going? When we went to Turks and Caicos it had to be the PCR nasal swab and specifically not the rapid test. We went with some offshoot of CPL Laboratories and it wasn't cheap (something like $250 or so) but we got it back the next morning.
  2. Looked like he hyperextended his knee. Might have slipped on the board a bit Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  3. You just can't teach prancing like that... it's a gift! Ummm....something about avatar and appropriateness
  4. Has anyone mentioned the fucking cat cafe from Tokyo hosted by Microsoft? The people absolutely fascinated by the stream need to be sterilized to prevent more idiocracy. There, I feel a little better.
  5. You know the song...It never rains in Southern California...until you get grandstand seats for the Rose Bowl parade on January 1, 2006. Then it pours for hours.
  6. Reminds me of the Texas offense during Cat's career here
  7. The Travis County text messages have started up again
  8. Just got around the watching the Chyna show. It was not the most uplifting show that I've watched to say the least. Is it just me or is Stephanie McMahon beginning to resemble Chyna?
  9. So...what happens if you test positive for the return trip? Heading to Turks and Caicos on Saturday. Had the PCR test Tuesday, both negative (wife and I both vaccinated several months ago). Just got a call from daughter who was at July 4th family party with us and she tested (quick test so chance of error) positive for Covid today. She was asymptomatic up until yesterday. She is getting the PCR test to verify the positive. She has an idea when she might have gotten it (Friday outdoor volleyball) as several people that were there have now tested positive. I'm just the old fart that doesn't understand things when I tried to get them to get the vaccine as they both (son and daughter) work in the construction industry.
  10. We have an in with a big supplier so we are usually able to buy at wholesale. We buy about $2,000 or so, get the wholesale price plus a 15% discount. Usually takes about 30-40 minutes to shoot them all and that is moving pretty fast (four tables with 2 people per table). This year, different story. Due to supply constraints, had to pay retail so got about a third of the amount that we usually get (still spent the same amount). Only took about 12 minutes to fire them off this year. Still was a pretty good show. One of these days, I'll retire from handling it all and just enjoy it.
  11. And just for giggles, I checked the leases in the Westlake ISD areas (mostly 8E and 8W). There is one house (not counting condos, townhouses and duplexes) that is 3+ bedrooms under $4,000 asking. In checking that listing, apparently the agent thinks Del Valle school district pulls from west Austin...dumbass. So for a 3+ bedroom house in 8E or 8W, you are looking minimum $4,000/month
  12. Yeah, good luck getting anything accepted here without a full waiver of appraisal.
  13. Also, just an average pit stop for Red Bull and he gets to Bottas with at least a lap left. He lost a little over 2.5 seconds on that stop.
  14. Sometimes it's there in schedule B (and sometimes they show percentage ownership) , but it's almost always followed by Title to said interest has not been researched subsequent to the date of the above referenced instrument and the Company makes no representation as to the ownership or holder of such interest(s). I've always heard from closers that the title company doesn't really do any determination of actual ownership, and to get the true ownership, a separate minerals search should be done. Of course, it's probably just ass covering.
  15. I've never seen mineral rights involved in a title commitment. It's always required a landman to do that research.
  16. Dropped some friends off at the airport at 6 this morning. The drive-up line was backed up halfway to the where the departure and arrival lanes separate. Line moved slowly but consistently. Once inside, they were through security in about 20 minutes. No pre-check or Clear.
  17. That's why dual agency is illegal in Texas.
  18. Timers on the vent fans are awesome.
  19. A broker is going to be hamstrung in much of the same way as the appraiser if public data (MLS comps) isn't available
  20. I pm'ed @Fud, but I guess it's just as good to do it here. We are leaving on the 10th and staying at the Villa Renaissance as the honeymoon we never took. It seems like everything has to be done last minute, but not too last minute. Test within 5 days, everything uploaded to TCI at least 24 hours before departure, etc. Does anyone have any insight on the Covid insurance and any other thing that can be done more in advance?
  21. He had lost a LOT of weight (looked like a completely different person) and was battling cancer (fuck cancer) along with other ailments. I had the distinct pleasure of visiting the Big Daddy Lounge in Pasadena the night before (or maybe the night before that) the National Championship game. There were several baseball and football alumni in attendance. Even had a T-shirt at one point, not sure where it is.
  22. Yeah, somehow I start the week mid 50's and the Sunday draw is always in the low 30's.
  23. Thanks for all of the replies. We ended up finding a decent apartment within a couple of minutes of the Medical Center for a couple of hundred dollars more than he budgeted. Apartments are being renovated so they are pretty nice (for downtown). I'll cover that for the first year until he is sure that's where he's going to be for a while (project is supposed to be completed next year), find a roommate, etc. We'll revisit the condo idea as we get near the end of the lease. We didn't really have time as he starts on Tuesday.
  24. Thanks for all of the help. I might just supplement his rent for the first year until he figures out the areas and what he's going to do with raises, girlfriend, etc.
  25. Looking for a little help off of the traditional path. My newly graduated son got an entry level construction management job at Texas Medical Center and we need to find him an apartment. Does anyone have a locator recommendation to make it any easier? Been in the Austin area all of my life and have no clue where to start fire Houston. I think he's hoping to stay in the $650-750 range and knows he'll have to commute. I doubt mind co-signing.
