  1. Happy birthday to you as well. I lost my mom 13 years ago, very unexpectedly. Her heart gave out, no indications that she was having trouble. The pain and shock were almost unreal. My biggest regret is that I didn't let myself grieve, please don't make that mistake. Give yourself the time and space to let it out. I'm pulling for you.
  2. None taken, it is true. If I already had to use readers in my everyday life, this wouldn't be an issue. But I don't and I don't want to start now.
  3. I got a Pixel 4a and I'm not thrilled with it. The phone is smaller than my Moto Z2 and that's fine but the font is so fucking small that I can't read anything. And that's with the font size maxed out. Why on earth won't they let you make it as big as you want??? I don't want to have to carry readers with me, for fucks sake. Everything else is fine, I guess. I don't care about the camera or shit like that.
  4. I've been a Niners fan and Rams hater for 40 years but I must say, the Rams deserve better uniforms. These are garbage. Either use the 60s style or the 70s-90s ones.
  5. I spent a week in the hospital, got out a week ago (not covid). I'm dreading the hospital bills. I have insurance but I know I'll get hammered anyway. I keep telling myself that it'll be ok and I'll just make payment arrangements like I've done in the past but I feel like I'm letting my wife down by incurring these bills. Stupid, I know. She loves me and doesn't give a shit about the bills, she cares more about my health. I wish I had her outlook, she's the best. Add to that, my birthday was yesterday. I was kind of depressed as I had nothing to do, nowhere to go and there just aren't many options of shit to do these days. Not that I had big plans in mind but it sucks when you KNOW you aren't doing shit. It made it seem like any other boring-ass saturday, which bummed me out. I had a good day, so it wasn't all doom and gloom. I just want things to go back to how they were 8 months ago.
  6. Went to HS with Cale Gundy so I saw many of his games, he was a year older than me. Several years after graduating, I watched my HS play in championship games against current VA Tech HC Justin Fuente (we won) and then vs Rocky Calmus and Kewon Jones (we lost). Fuck Tulsa schools BTW.
  7. My dad was one of four, my mom was one of three (but one died as an infant). They stopped at 2, my sister and I each had 2. I had twins and when the doc said the chances of having twins again was 50%, I said fuck that and got snipped.
  8. I don't have a dog in this fight but Downey seems like he sucks.
  9. Ou has something new for Saturday. Looks awful from this sneak peek.
  10. Here's the reveal video for the Thurman Thomas uniform. Pretty well done IMO.
  11. I'm pretty sure when my twins had them done, it was about $3000-3500 each. Luckily, I got to split that with the ex-wife. So I guess my advice is to get divorced and cut your payments in half.
  12. I do. But I ditched the first one that acted like this on the reg. Not saying that you should follow suit, just that I could only handle so much.
  13. This shit enrages me. Nobody makes anyone feel anything. You're in charge of your own feelings. I mean, if this is how it works, why can't we all just "make" our wives feel like having sex 24/7?
  14. At this point, it sounds like the only thing that would save him would be bodies in the trees.
  15. We have a PC in my office that's stuck on 3.1 because the program they're running can't get configured to run on anything newer. It's been like this for over 10 years.
  16. We lost internet during a storm the other night, so the Roku was out of commission. I turned on one of the weird antenna channels and every other ad was for a law firm that wanted to hear from people that were raped while in the boy scouts. I didn't know they had Vatican-level problems in the scouts.
  17. I pulled the trigger on a 4a last night. The delivery date is around Oct. 15-17, so I think you're right about the demand.
  18. My Moto Z2 is shitting the bed as we speak and it is time to upgrade. I've been using Motorola phones the last 5+ years but they seem to go bad after 2 years or so, I'm ready for something new. I'm cheap as hell, so I guess the Pixel 4a is the way to go? I don't care for flagship phones or spending tons of money. I also don't want to buy a phone that's on it's way out, tech-wise, so I'm not buying a used S8 or the like.
  19. I've had my Tempurpedic hybrid for 6 months now. We really like it, doesn't get too hot and it's just the right mix of support and comfort. I didn't want to spend $3600 but I don't have any regrets thus far.
  20. I hope this is the right topic for this, apologies if not. I was checking the CDC website and it has a list of medical conditions that would cause someone to be "at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19". One of these is obesity, which they determine as someone with a BMI of 30+. Obesity is on the same list as cancer, COPD, sickle cell and diabetes. Our office has listed diabetics as "at risk" and working from home 100% but we have people in the office who I know are obese. Is this something that should be adressed? Would it be an HR nightmare? (I say yes). If a person brought up osesity as a reason to work from home for their own safety, should their concern be taken seriously?
  21. Thanks for this info. I assumed that there were going to be various businesses or attractions that would be closed or running at the minimum but I guess I didn't think it would be as bad as that. Being in OK, you can lose perspective on what's happening in the larger population centers. Oh well, we'll see what's happening in the spring.
