  5. Not sure where to put this, Bo Davis on the move again. Leaving LSU for the Saints
  6. I see the Connection there, Oui?
  7. Agreed, she is not the norm. People want blood for their property from what ive seen. She walked away with ~$350K since her cost basis was the cost of the stuff she improved. She for sure is not the norm since the house was given/gifted to her. Sounds like she just wanted to be done by the New Year.
  8. Stayed in a cabin in Gatlinburg. As other have said, its mainly Panama City in the mountains. Dollywood was great however. Grotto Falls is a great hike, not easy , but not hard and the money shot is worth it. Looks like the waterfall scene in Last of the Mohicans. The drive from G'Burg to Asheville and on to Grove Park INN was amazing, not sure how hard that area got hit with floods, but the drive was a top 10er for me.
  9. staying down the street from there, we'll check it out.
  10. My guess is he was looked after pretty well in El Paso (first 5 star ever to come from there) and when he got the ATX, he fell in to the welcoming hands of bad influencers and it was all over for him. Maybe an element of bright lights big city got hold of him. I remember Mack gushing over him when he used to do those signing day resume talks.
  11. Headed to Sonoma Th-Sun. Friend's wife is turning 5-0. Staying at the Lodge in Sonoma. Sangiacomo Friday tasting, Chalk Hill and Chateau St Jean are on standy Saturday with dinner at Wit and WIsdom one night.
  12. You arent lying man. I took my wife (no pics) to the Cole Pittman game. Her first Texas game, we had just been married earlier in the year. Now our oldest is 21. The book his Dad wrote is a great read, just get the tissues ready.
  13. Lot of younger Surlers may not know Earl had 2 brothers who were great Horns in their own right. RIP to Tim, one hell of a DL for us in the 70's. Earl had two brothers, twins, Tim and Steve. Tim wrecked shop on Defense , first at Tyler JT where they won state in '77 and then at Texas, where Tim set records on the Defense. https://www.statesman.com/story/sports/college/longhorns/football/2025/02/03/tim-campbell-texas-football-longhorns-de-earl-campbell-brother/78160496007/
  14. "Sometimez seengul....sometimez dawble " --Juando "Thousands, consequently millions" --Prime We've been blessed with some good quips in DFW sports history over the years
  15. This is isnt about this year or next. Luka is now Laker for the next 10 years.
  16. Luka is 25. Let that sink in. 25 and one of the top players in the world. Mavs trade him for a draft pick and a washed up center/role player.
  17. Dave Campo and Jason Garrett too. Jerry likes yes men, guys that wont tell him the truth and just basically tell him what he wants to hear.
  18. yep. Even Earl Thomas redshirted. Don't recall what Stearns or Jones did, but as I recall Brandon Jones did not start until SO year.
  19. Tucker went to UT Austin.
  20. Dad was a United States Secret Service agent and was on protective duty for the last year of Ford and 1st year of Carter. We had moved from Los Angeles to DC for the protective duty assignment but his Dad (my granddad) died and then his brother died in a matter of 6 mos, so we packed up the Chevy Station wagon and drove from DC back to Southern CA. It changed our lives as he was on a track to maybe one day run the whole damn agency...he was very well thought of from what his buddies have told me over the years. Anyway he became Special Agent in Charge of Dallas field office in the 80's and thus started my conversion from CA surfer kid to Texan. One story that has always stuck with me. Most summer Saturdays, he would drive me and my 2 brothers plus our 3 cousins to Huntington Beach to boogie board. Rules were, we couldn't set foot in the ocean until he got back from his run. He'd bang out 8 miles in an hour. The 6 of us would be lined up on the edge of water sitting on our boards, leashed up. Once we would catch sight of him on the horizon, we would all get so pumped, ready for a day of catching waves. He would get back, strip to his 70's era running shorts , take a dip, pop open a Lowenbrau (or 10) and put on Vin Scully, if the Dodgers were playing, Chick Hearn ( he called him Chicky Baby) if the Lakers were....or Johnny Cash if not. He was a legend. My cousins called him "Big JIm".
  21. Terminal B at IAD is as good as any. Super high ceilings, very wide concourse, modern feel. Plenty of room and seating and the gates are not right on top of each other. When you take the moon rover to whatever Terminal that is.....IAD goes way down hill and feels third world. Flew out of there last week after my Delta (terminal B) flight to Atlanta cancelled and i was able to get out on a United flight out of moon rover-ville....huge drop off from one Terminal to the other.
