  1. I didn't say he was a good shooter. He's not "awful". Carry on, we aren't going to agree on this.
  2. Really? Outside of the two guys who made 1/1 and 2/2 3-pt shots, he was our best 3-pt shooter (8/20 = 40%). His FG% was 50.5%. He wouldn't be my first choice to take the most shots, bur he is nowhere near "awful".
  3. I saw Journey 15 months earlier, with Gregg Rolie on keys. I preferred that lineup. They were great. For some stupid reason, Sammy Hagar headlined, and Journey and Judas Priest were support acts. Give me a fucking break.
  4. I really like that song "Who's Crying Now", especially considering their quality of work was getting really cheesy by that point. Schon was a monster (but weird), Perry was obviously a monster, Steve Smith was a monster, and Cain was talented but an utter douche. That band could fucking play.
  5. Your favorite steak salad didn't contain great steak?
  6. What if the majority of our production were consumed within the United States. Would a net trade imbalance with the rest of the world matter as much?
  7. Weaver has averaged 19.3 minutes per game at Texas. I'm pretty sure some of the stat junkies can point out some reason why he has gotten exactly as much playing time as he deserves, but my eyes tell me the team does better when he's on the court. I hope Miller can find a way to play him more.
  8. $3.9M over four years plus incentives (lol). $900K in year 1, escalating to $1.05M in year 4. Buyout is the base salary, so barring a firing for cause, the dude will make $3.9M to suck ass.
  9. Imagine how much better they'd be had they just hired David Pierce.
  10. I was being a bit hyperbolic, but the fact remains that there aren't as many knowledgeable coaches for some of the more esoteric events. I had to find some youtube videos to show my son about triple jump basics, there was nobody on staff who knew anything. It wasn't related to being ignored, he was the team's top scorer, best sprinter and the anchor on the 4x100. He got plenty of sprint training because the coaches knew those events. Regarding the topic at hand: I saw kids from different teams hang out togther on a regular basis. They get to know each other pretty well over the course of a season.
  11. I'm nearly positive that was Anna on bass last night.
  12. Honestly, I wasn't blown away by Isbell tonight. Turn it up, dude. It was a pretty aloof set. I remain gobsmacked by the guy's lyrics, but as a rock band, eh. That wasn't great.
  13. I don't get less straight when I see a photo of Rosie O'Donnell. Suck it up, buttercup.
  14. It's not logical, but after our run of pretty effective big men I'm getting tired of not having them. Not that there aren't other ways to build a team, but it just feels like we always have a weakness down low.
  15. My kid took 3rd at district on triple jump. He had absolutely no clue what he was doing. He looked like a gassy kangaroo. There was a gal who was clearly trained and who probably outjumped him by 5 feet, she made it look effortless. Triple jump and some of the field events should be outlawed.
  16. Yikes. Does he need to pee?
  17. It's amazing how far one becomes willing to drive as opposed to sitting on bleachers for 10 hours.
  18. Your copy/paste didn't work.
  19. I realize it's all priced in by the derivatives gurus, but I don't think I'd be buying calls going into the weekend. Hope it pays off.
  20. Wind is blowing out, Georgia might mash.
  21. Saw that with my kid. He got 3rd at district in long jump with a 20' or so and the guy who won had all kinds of technique and would pop a 26'. I mean, it just wasn't a fair fight, most likely even if they DID have the same coaching. I looked that kid up and he was signed to play running back for Iowa State or some such. Ah. Had to have a little talk with my son about his future. "Study real hard."
  22. I'm glad you survived. I stumbled into track when my son made the team. I had absolutely no concept of how boring a track meet could be, especially a one-day meet. He did five events -- sprints, jumps and a relay. It took ALL DAY every one-day meet. Drove me crazy. I started driving him to meets and going back home to Austin. Good luck, son, I'll pick you up at 6.
  23. That assistant was wholly responsible for A&M's run to the title game. Nobody could have predicted this season's misfortune.
