Just to check on this, when you say low temps in sous vide you talking steak temps of 130, or something else? During the summer I pretty much avoid the oven and stovetop as much as possible so sous vide/grill/smoker gets most of the work. After having Leroy & Lewis beef cheek I'm looking to add it to the beef rotation at home, it was spectacular.
  2. #6 was very energetic with his pre kickoff words. and we get a shot on goal immediately
  3. I read @thunderlounge 's essays from a few pages back. So basically I should do a product change on the CS to a Freedom Unlimited, then apply for a CSR/P.
  4. I have a regular Chase Sapphire, considering upgrading to the Preferred to get rental car coverage as I travel a good bit for work and have trips to Germany and Scotland coming in the next year. Worth it for the Reserve or not? Or should I close the CS and then open a CSP/CSR? Also have a Chase Freedom in the wallet already, generally I'm trying to stick to United as my better half already has a companion pass and more SW points than we can use. Advice?
  5. Buehler? Also, Roundup still preferred herbicide for unwanted Crepe Myrtle?
  6. Previous job had me doing a decent amount of work at the Mayo Clinic
  7. I don’t know MN beer well enough to comment how they compare to others, but I agree that they make fenomile beer.
  8. Oh good. Expanded options for the majority of football season.
  9. Ya that's a lot of extra force on the dam. I know we don't do shit like this in this day and age, but kinda makes me think it would have saved a bit of money to sink them prior to getting close to the dam itself.
  10. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t warning shots illegal? I thought the law in Texas was if you pull the trigger you have to be in fear for yours or others lives, so you must be trying to shoot the threatening party to protect yourself or others.

    same as it ever was.
  12. I was commenting on for just sales experience. Not for service, that should be a no-brainer to not do that at the dealership. It seems like any non-premium brand vehicle is a beating trying to sift through the sleaze to just buy a fucking car.
  13. Maxwell is particularly bad, but I haven't had a good experience at a Ford dealer in Austin yet.
  14. Any strong feelings on strains of St. Augustine? I'm going to resod the back yard (fairly shaded) and parts of the front (shaded, but less than the back). Currently at King Ranch turfgrass in South Austin Amerishade is $255/pallet, Floratam is $195, and Raleigh is $165. We have a fairly clay heavy soil if it makes any difference.

I had blantons in a bar Illinois tonight and was glad for it.
  16. We've had stellar service from Amica, and bundled auto & umbrella to get additional discounting. It's also slightly higher than your average SF/Geico like USAA, but the service and rebate make up for it IMO.
  17. I always wondered if mandating the permeable pavers that are so common elsewhere in the world for parking lots in Houston would do any good, considering where the water table is located.

Thankful I can’t watch this. Jesus.
  21. It's more the methodology than the effect that they're trying to protect. Researchers at MDA work on everything from stem cell to biomaterials to pharmacological agents. Most of that research has applications in waaaay more than just cancer. And historically the Chinese have much more lax ethical standards about how those methodologies are applied.
  22. Vintage is the price friendly way to go. I bought an old Craftsman that was made in Japan from a retiree for $20, it's probably close to twice my age. There are a few options still made in North America like Veritas but you'll pay through the nose for them.
  23. This should be moved to Hobbies and you should post more pics.
