  1. I heard that. It was a stupid comment, not even a good dig. As a Mex-American my first thought was if we're gonna play the stereotype game you're really gonna go with chicken? But w/e. He is who he is, and he got about what he deserved on Saturday. He was clearly the better boxer but if he's not willing to risk anything to win a fight then fuck him. He didn't have anything to say when Mexican Mikey Garcia bullied his ass around the ring for 12 rounds and forced him to shell up. Charlo and Davis were impressive. I'm fully behind Charlo after he called out GGG. I like when fighters speak it into existence, enough of the hiding behind promoters bullshit. Tank doesn't really want Loma, he hid behind his promoters on some "if my team tells me that's what we gotta do then that's what I"ll do" bullshit. Charlo wasn't playing that.
  2. Indeed, Game 2 was fucking shit. Even shooting 30% from 3 would've changed that game for us. I'm still riding the high that comes from a good Manu game. I really wish I could've been there yesterday, AT&T center was nuts.
  3. That's a good one. Hate to shit on a place when it's dead, but wtf, it's dead it won't care. Players was memorable bc I went there many a Sunday nights with friends and caught a few games on that old-school big screen TV they had. The burgers were always very average to me, could have had many better at any point.
  4. It took about 1 thread page and about 3 weeks/episodes for this thread to finally change from calling Atlanta a comedy and posters saying this show can be taken at face value to people now responding "wtf" to an entire season. I like his art. He's doing what he wants to do and I'm still enjoying journeying with all the characters. Paper Boi is my favorite on the show (Darius a close second, in fact I think i like everybody more than Earn) and I was glad to see his episode last night. It was trippy and transformative but overall you can see his character growth coming slowly. Pretty interesting how through his episode we also see the lack of growth from Earn (just from the way they refer to him and talk about him on the phone and in the salon) and how Al is quickly out-growing him.
  5. Glad you posted this because I was having trouble thinking of overrated restaurants I feel that strongly about. But, 1. Hopdoddy. Overrated AF. $20+ for burger fries and a drink? It's not that f'n good. I'd rather get BBQ for that price point. Also, Huts and P. Terry's are not better than Casino El Camino (and I'm cool with P Terry's). And whoever said Via 313 is overrated needs to get kicked.
  6. PtR was on it this morning, stating that they edited the original article from Sacramento to remove that line about him going weeks without contact (but they didn't take it out of the clickbait headline). Also, is my sarcasm meter broken for Gut Wagon? I need to know what kind of characters I'm dealing with in this Spurs thread.
  7. Interesting strategy that they have withholding all info on this injury and being super-secretive about why he isn't with the team. Good luck getting that huge payday when the teams have to speak to "his team" to find out whether the condition is degenerative. And if they tell a team no and he winds up only playing part of next season too, what does that say about the rest of his career?
  8. I wouldn't call this a good Patty game. He missed some 3s in the first half that advanced analytics guys would call 'wide motherfucking open' and finished 3/9 on the night. Aside from those back-to-back hero two-pointers that he put up in the 3rd or 4th quarter, he played pedestrian basketball. Danny on the other hand is a complete liability, and is making Pop pay for bringing him back off the bench in hopes that playoff Danny would show up. I'm 90% done with him. He's 30 years old and is still "developing" his offensive game. And the one thing he could do well he only does well at home now, and even then you're lucky to find a sliver of those 2014 performances.
  9. Patty and Kyle really need to step it up. Bertans has balls.
  10. I'm with Mackey on this. 2-3 years ago guys were shutting down the Cowboys' passing attack by bracketing Dez, so Beasley and Witten feasted. Williams has always been Williams. He is very average even as a #2 receiver. Last year (and part of the year before) guys were shutting down our offense by bracketing Beasley after it became clear Dez lost a step. His days of requiring a safety over the top and blanket coverage are over. I've been pretty adamant for 2 years now that Dez need not be a focal point of the offense, for a mixture of reasons. Some of them on him, some of them on Dak, and some of them are just chemistry issues, but it's been apparent to me for 2 years that "get Dez into a rhythm, at any cost" was not a good offensive strategy. It caused forced passes from Dak to a receiver that sometimes wasn't open, sometimes wouldn't catch, or forced him into a throw that isn't his strong suit (Romo could float a jump ball to Dez, Dak isn't nearly as adept at that). Our offense was much more fluid relying on the ground game and then spreading the ball around to Beasley/Witten/Dez/Williams/whoever. But it was set up by the run game 1st, and the ability of everyone on the team to play to their strengths was sustainable. That's when our offense has been good.
  11. I'm looking forward to this summer's re-signing period just as much as anything else in Sports. I have never ever done so in my life. I can't wait just to get through it just so we know, if he stays, great, hopefully he can be healthy and our window is open for another 5-6 years. If not, well let's get pieces and figure the next 3-4 years out around LaMarcus and better pieces.
  12. At that light of a weight those 3-4 classes are all pretty fluid. He welcomed Rigondeaux, who was 2 classes under him to a challenge, now he's moving up 1 to fight where he probably should be fighting. Meh. Let's not act like he's only having to go up to find fights, he let someone reach up pretty significantly to fight him. I don't honestly think Linares will give him a huge test, Linares isn't nearly as technical nor defensive as he needs to be to challenge Loma. Even though a lot of boxing people seem to think he has a shot. So to answer the question, he'll have to move up to whatever weight Mikey or Crawford are at to be challenged, likely.
  13. Maybe if you're Earl Campbell and get used as a battering ram 40 times a game. QBs retire from the NFL to go work in broadcast or become inspirational speakers. Doesn't matter for him because he's 5'7" and will never sniff the NFL.
  14. If he leaves I don't see how they can keep describing him as this. "He is a two-time Defensive Player of the Year and generally known as a team-first guy who only cares about winning."
  15. I was just starting to wonder if it's necessarily a selling point that that whole area has "blowed up." I used to love driving down Burnet when I lived off Mopac/Steck a few years ago, now it has almost completed its transformation to #GenericMillenialCity like the rest of NW Austin/Domain. I'm currently renting off MLK and I still really like the area. I've been here for 3 years and never been in any trouble (no break-ins in house or car, nothing). So the "hood rat shit" is overblown. 12th & Chicon is hip as shit now, there's a few families on our block (13th street) and a lot of young professionals. If the gentrifiers took over 12th & Chicon I'm not sure what else there is to be afraid of. Holly (e. Cesar Chavez area) is probably a bit ahead than my area. I don't know if the drive is desirable, but heading north on 35 at rush hour isn't too bad once you get to Capitol Plaza area, you're heading away from DT anyway.
  16. Jennifer Love Hewitt or GTFO.
  17. Donald going for the Emmys with last week's episode. Really this whole season. Doing horror/thriller episodes just to show he can do them. I did LMAO when they started roasting Teddy Perkins though. He looks like the skin after you peel a scab...
  18. Yeah I'm on the boat for the Playoffs. Missing it would suck. I realize who we are this year, but winning a first-round matchup would be a nice little ending to the season, and hopefully even give someone a good test in round 2. I'm interested in seeing playoff LMA and what he has to offer, as well as Dejounte growing. The summer could be the end of our foreseeable window if we don't sign Kawhi, so let's deal with that later and just enjoy the playoffs with what we have for now.
  19. Mack on LHN? Interdasting.
  20. It was a damn good fight. Had it streaming along with UFC, glad I caught the last round, great ending.
  21. I'd really like to see him fight BJS, Ramirez @ 168 or even Andrade. You know, the actual proven fighters (since Charlo and Jacobs are busy this month). I keep seeing this Derevyanchenko name around so I look him up and the dude's on the level that GGG was at in 2012. He's fought absolutely nobody but I guess because he's Ukranian (and an Olympian?) people think he is worth a GGG shot? I don't get it. I'd like to see him beat someone in the Top 20 of the division before getting a crack at the #1/2. BJS wants to fight in June, so it would only push the date back a month and it would unify the titles.... isn't that GGG's whole thing? Wants to unify the titles?
  22. Danny and Brandon Paul. Both of whom refuted that it was heated and emotional.
  23. The rewatch of Season 1 kind of caught me off guard. I didn't realize how deep it was. I also got this notion, started doubting that a lot of the host's motives were really them becoming sentient and more of it was programmed than I thought. Like there's more strings being pulled than I realized on first watch.
  24. This might not be what you mean at all, but I started thinking of Westbrook as I read that. If he were to put the team on his back and start aiming for 35/8/5 a game, is there a chance he just turns into Russell. Obviously he's a better shooter, but maybe he just has more control of himself to not just start throwing up 25 shots a game.
  25. With all due respect to a comedy GOAT, comparing Chappelle's show to Atlanta is pretty short-sighted. Dave wrote in his comedy style, with all its ridiculousness. Atlanta, for all its comedy and hilarious situations, is still a drama and a story at the end of the day. In the same thread people are recognizing that Donald Glover is a tortured genius and also denying that his show would have any subtext or theme exploration. Peculiar...
