  1. Maybe if you're Earl Campbell and get used as a battering ram 40 times a game. QBs retire from the NFL to go work in broadcast or become inspirational speakers. Doesn't matter for him because he's 5'7" and will never sniff the NFL.
  2. If he leaves I don't see how they can keep describing him as this. "He is a two-time Defensive Player of the Year and generally known as a team-first guy who only cares about winning."
  3. I was just starting to wonder if it's necessarily a selling point that that whole area has "blowed up." I used to love driving down Burnet when I lived off Mopac/Steck a few years ago, now it has almost completed its transformation to #GenericMillenialCity like the rest of NW Austin/Domain. I'm currently renting off MLK and I still really like the area. I've been here for 3 years and never been in any trouble (no break-ins in house or car, nothing). So the "hood rat shit" is overblown. 12th & Chicon is hip as shit now, there's a few families on our block (13th street) and a lot of young professionals. If the gentrifiers took over 12th & Chicon I'm not sure what else there is to be afraid of. Holly (e. Cesar Chavez area) is probably a bit ahead than my area. I don't know if the drive is desirable, but heading north on 35 at rush hour isn't too bad once you get to Capitol Plaza area, you're heading away from DT anyway.
  4. Jennifer Love Hewitt or GTFO.
  5. Donald going for the Emmys with last week's episode. Really this whole season. Doing horror/thriller episodes just to show he can do them. I did LMAO when they started roasting Teddy Perkins though. He looks like the skin after you peel a scab...
  6. Yeah I'm on the boat for the Playoffs. Missing it would suck. I realize who we are this year, but winning a first-round matchup would be a nice little ending to the season, and hopefully even give someone a good test in round 2. I'm interested in seeing playoff LMA and what he has to offer, as well as Dejounte growing. The summer could be the end of our foreseeable window if we don't sign Kawhi, so let's deal with that later and just enjoy the playoffs with what we have for now.
  7. Mack on LHN? Interdasting.
  8. It was a damn good fight. Had it streaming along with UFC, glad I caught the last round, great ending.
  9. I'd really like to see him fight BJS, Ramirez @ 168 or even Andrade. You know, the actual proven fighters (since Charlo and Jacobs are busy this month). I keep seeing this Derevyanchenko name around so I look him up and the dude's on the level that GGG was at in 2012. He's fought absolutely nobody but I guess because he's Ukranian (and an Olympian?) people think he is worth a GGG shot? I don't get it. I'd like to see him beat someone in the Top 20 of the division before getting a crack at the #1/2. BJS wants to fight in June, so it would only push the date back a month and it would unify the titles.... isn't that GGG's whole thing? Wants to unify the titles?
  10. Danny and Brandon Paul. Both of whom refuted that it was heated and emotional.
  11. The rewatch of Season 1 kind of caught me off guard. I didn't realize how deep it was. I also got this notion, started doubting that a lot of the host's motives were really them becoming sentient and more of it was programmed than I thought. Like there's more strings being pulled than I realized on first watch.
  12. This might not be what you mean at all, but I started thinking of Westbrook as I read that. If he were to put the team on his back and start aiming for 35/8/5 a game, is there a chance he just turns into Russell. Obviously he's a better shooter, but maybe he just has more control of himself to not just start throwing up 25 shots a game.
  13. With all due respect to a comedy GOAT, comparing Chappelle's show to Atlanta is pretty short-sighted. Dave wrote in his comedy style, with all its ridiculousness. Atlanta, for all its comedy and hilarious situations, is still a drama and a story at the end of the day. In the same thread people are recognizing that Donald Glover is a tortured genius and also denying that his show would have any subtext or theme exploration. Peculiar...
  14. Bro, Harden literally ALWAYS plays like he's bored. That's his whole thing, he slow plays defenders as part of his offensive game, and never really hustles on defense. And yes, guys can keep him from scoring 40 if they want to, because he scored 10 points in an elimination game in the 2nd round of the NBA playoffs last year.
  15. I appreciate them. They are definitely on the "decent MCs" list and there are definitely *still* many better MCs releasing material, even these days, but their tracks are always fire and they generally tend to mean well when they rap. Good dudes, etc.
  16. Old dudes in the locker room are a problem no matter what gym you go to. It's a cot-damned epidemic. I'm not too mad at the OP pic either, there was nobody in that gym, in fact that pic looked pretty damn great because there was many empty benches and a decent looking lady working out. Blocking the rack is a no-no generally, but I don't mind people who do the rows there as long as they move their asses when they're done. And as long as they're not using the weights for support when they're lifting less than 50 or 60 pounds.
  17. Don't agree that this season is bad. Not at all. I thought last night's episode was peculiar, probably a 6/10 from me, and I agree they beat the point too much (we get it, Black men love their barbers, we needed a whole episode for what I'm sure many Black comedians could cover in a 4-minute joke?). But I do enjoy Paperboi/the actor that plays him, and he's the realest character on the show imo, so it was still somewhat enjoyable. I liked the episode before though. Earn and "his girl" had a real f'n episode that brought out some real issues between them. I've been in that situation, and I'm sure many of us have, but I'm not sure you get both viewpoints (man "doesn't know" what he wants/just wants to fuck and chill, woman wants to fuck but also stability) from a lot of depictions of that situation. It was more character progression to me, further revealing Earn as a normal-ass dude who really could be considered a POS.
  18. This season has really solidified my view of LMA as a true Spur. I don't know what else you could ever ask of him, he's taken this fiasco of a season and put the entire team on his back. He said it himself... "it's winning time." So he showed up to work and dropped 25/11.
  19. Heart shaped box! In.
  20. I have the optimistic and pessimistic view on the situation, and each one makes about equal sense to me: 1. Kawhi is focused on the money and the new contract extension rn, which I don't like, because it's such a far cry from how our stars of the past have acted as members of the Spurs organization, and I also feel it tells us a bit about how great he will truly strive to be now that he's already reached Top 5 in NBA status. 2. Kawhi is introverted and as an opinion I read on PtR stated, maybe he is still learning how to be a leader (which he was only starting to come into last year), and still doesn't know how to be vocal to his teammates about this type of situation. He's never been in it before, but it would explain the passive-aggressive shit coming from Tony and Manu's apparent frustration. Danny and Pop and some others (BP) have stated that everyone is on the same page, and I'd like to believe that, maybe the old guys are just extra frustrated because their swan song is being wasted. Either way, best case scenario is we re-sign him, retool the roster to not have 3 guards that are 6'2" or shorter and shit defenders, and hopefully next year we read more headlines about Dejounte other than "Dejounte can REBOUND OMG" and he actually develops into someone who can facilitate an offense. IMHO, I came into the season and especially into 2018 very hesitant about Dejounte as a starter, and I don't think he's improved all that much since being inserted into the starting role, he still has a half-reliable floater, and is very inconsistent as a shooter. He hustles, is long, and gets rebounds, but that's the same as when we started the season.
  21. Saw a screening last night, it was cool. Solid B movie with a coherent storyline and can be fun at times. Definitely felt more of a teenage movie though(which I suppose the book is supposed to be but the 80s culture makes it feel otherwise). The 'Avatar'ish animation kind of annoyed me, maybe bc I read the book and imagined it more just as a 3D representation of life instead of a video game, but that's a personal preference. There are definitely more than a few of the pop culture refs but I still felt like it could use a few more, and even though the 80s soundtrack was kinda cool, I'm not sure the staff on the film new exactly when to let that soundtrack take over like it could have (compared to say a Linklater or whoever did 'I, Tonya'). I don't think y'all will be particularly disappointed. It isn't completely like the book either, I think they had to take out a lot of the Atari and arcade game parts (and even some of the violence) to make it more palatable for the kids. There is one great Kubrick scene though, I was really impressed with that.
  22. You seem new here. Is this your first time hearing our 5-ring winning coach speak? What exactly has he said in the past that would make you want to hear his stance on a political subject if you already know what your own stance is? Take that shit to Shaggytexas.
