  1. It could have been a Hispanic Jew. He already told them he couldn't tell the difference.
  2. Self awareness is a beautiful thing. Kudos for that. Thanks for sharing, and for providing some additional info on Carr's book. Knowing your lifestyle, had you pegged as an extrovert. I wouldn't think you'd be shy about public speaking. I know it scares the shit out of a lot of people, however, and I commend you for powering through on something that made you so uncomfortable.
  3. Will check this out. Care to elaborate on the main points?
  4. I downed my weight in Pimm's Cups there just last week while enjoying the Chris Johnson Band. Was a good time.
  5. Do it. Plan for a full day. Or buy the $7 2nd day pass to spread it out. And also spend the extra $$$ to see the movie.
  6. In town for the week, slumming at the Ritz-Carlton. Hit Nola Poboys as mandatory first stop on Tuesday. Bar-hopped our way around the Quarter. Finally made it to the WWII Museum yesterday. Pretty damn astounding and comprehensive, and it looks like they’re continuing to expand. Early res at GW Fins was disappointing. First time they’ve ever been “off”. Service was impeccable, but the apps were average and the entrees were fine, but…normally GW Fins is the undisputed treat of the trip. Everything was just…ok.
  7. Haters be damned. An order or fried wings and a cup of gumbo is a mandatory drunk stop for me every trip.
  8. East Texas doesn't give a fuck about recycling. My town even took away curbside collection AND increased our solid waste fee $5/month. You have to haul (the few accepted items they accept) to the Solid Waste Annex. I still make an effort, but...some shit just ain't worth dealing with.
  9. With tramps like us, username checks out.
  10. After years of using the plain Oster type, I ordered this 2 years ago. It fuckin’ rocks! Blenders for kitchen, 1450W Professional Countertop Blender with 68 oz Tritan Pitcher and 8 Adjustable Speeds, Smoothie Blender Maker for Shakes, Crushing Ice and Frozen Fruits https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B09C24R5TY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_MP3WR76J087VVSPYXQ7D
  11. Lufkin, but I ain’t getting snipped there.
  12. I would appreciate updates on your experience. Seeking one for myself in that area.

  14. I hate hearing that. My wife just said something similar to me an hour ago. I just rolled my eyes and sweared profusely, but she’s always right about shit like this. I’m spending time in Austin for the first time in 3 years and realized that I completely forgot to bring any kind of mask (ya know…just in case it’s needed). It’s glorious. COVID needs to eat a bag of dicks then die.
  15. Wouldn’t be a thread about food opinions without Buck telling long-ass stories and calling us all dipshits.
  16. The cooking scenes are good.
  17. Tortilla Soup The Ramen Girl
  18. Saw Pain Of Salvation with Klone opening last night at Come And Take It Live. Was a good time. Just sayin...

Went to Vic & Al’s last night. Damn friendly place. Highly recommended. https://vicandals.square.site/
  20. Sunbrella-brand cushions came with my set, and they’ve been the best cushions (including other Sunbrella ones) I’ve ever had. Heavy duty fabric, very sturdy filling.
  21. Full Polywood set here. Couch, loveseat, chairs, ottomans, and tables. Heavy as shit, never rusting. Love the Sunbrella cushions. Easy to clean and maintain. Whole set is 3 years old and maintenance free so far.
  22. Cheers to all of this. The sleep. The reading. The peace. I don’t really give a fuck about sugar, but… Well done, my friend.
  23. The grocery store: “Ooo, looks like someone is having a party!” Every damn time. To be fair, every day is a party at my place.
  24. So…in regards to titters, in general, where’s the best in town for two guys staying downtown? Used to do Expose by St. Edwards. Doesn’t have to be the fanciest. A little seedy is ok. As long as it’s laid-back and relatively friendly. Seeking the perfect mix of not getting constantly hustled vs not getting stabbed, either. Much thanks to the Surly pervert brigade, in advance.
