The other thing that has clearly happened within the GOP is an "Elevation of The Stupid." But once you are willing to disregard factual information in preference to lies that you can agree with, then you can end up anywhere and believe anything. So can you really be surprised at hand counting for "accuracy." The GOP has been elevating stupid for a while now.

I have come to the very simple conclusion that in order to be Republican, the main criteria is the ability to completely discard intellectual honesty. This more than any other factor is a necessity in being a true Republican. You just really, really, really have to believe a lot of shit that is not true. You have to promote a lot of shit that is not true. And you have to adamantly above all, avoid actually caring about what is or is not true. I can take most any "important" issue for the GOP and show the intellectual dishonesty necessary in the political position. Take immigration for example. The GOP controlled all three branches of the Federal Government and packed the Supreme Court. Yet there was no effort at all to pass an immigration bill. Because... for the GOP they main thing is having something to complain about. When you control all the government and you fail to take any action, how can you honestly blame the other side? It's simply intellectually dishonest. Take the outrage of Hunter Biden! I have no problem at all going after Hunter Biden. But to pretend the prosecution of Hunter Biden is anything other than a selective political prosecution started by the TRUMP ADMINISTRATION is simply to be intellectually dishonest. But let's pretend that it is not intellectually dishonest! Now let's ask about Jared Kushner, who received $2 billion in Saudi money for a startup where he has no experience. This after using his office representing the United States in the Trump administration to negotiate this deal. So the Trump Crime family received $2 billion? Gotta be outraged by that if you are even a little irked by Hunter right? Not if you have the Republican cloak of intellectual dishonesty to protect your mind. Let's take a look about the love of the unborn, and the sanctity of life. Let's pretend this is a true principle of the Republican party! How then can you explain the abusive treatment of the only children in the care of the Texas GOP year, after year, after year in the Republican designed and implemented Texas foster care system? If the state of Texas treats foster children in a manner that would land individual parents in jail over the neglect and abuse. Why doesn't the GOP give a fuck about these children while cheering on Abortion laws creating more unwanted children, some of whom will end up in the Texas foster System. The solution to this? Simply use the GOP cloak of intellectual dishonestly! With the millions of Republicans in Texas wanting more unwanted children, is it a fair question as to why Republicans are not adopting these children after they are born? (cue up intellectual dishonesty defense here) Take any GOP issue supposedly based on "principles" and you will find the necessity of intellectual dishonestly by Republican voters and politicians.

yeah UTSA was as close to a "lock" as I thought there was early in the picks. But WTF do I know, as one of you will likely be spending my money...
-
BOOM! Come feast on all that THE University of Texas and Austin have to offer!
-
I forgot the lock time and was thinking of taking Old Dominion just to be contrarian. Had I visited here I would have switched instead of missed the lock time. I was feeling the fool, until the last second. To have a 28 point lead vanish... I can only say (painfully) "Luv Ya Blue."
-
1) Fuck Bud Adams! 2) Fuck the Tennessee Titans and their "Luv Ya Blue" backfire! 3) Way to scratch and claw a way to victory and a shot at the playoffs Texans! 4) There was on positive of seeing the Columbia blue that I loved, that also brought so many disappointments. Mainly was a vivid recollection of a drunk Ass Bum Phillips at Club No Minors at El Patio a few years after he stopped coaching. So there was something good that came out of the visualization of that color.

A big tip of the hat to Maalik. He came in and saved our season, making the CFP possible. For a guy coming in as a sub without endless starting team reps he did a fine job. Despite what I felt was an inordinate criticism from some folks here. I have a feeling that Maalik is going to be exactly what he was here, somewhere else. A hard worker with talent, who has proven himself to be a hell of a teammate. I have a feeling he is going to do very well, wherever he lands. And I for one appreciate his time here, and wish him the very best wherever he may land. I would love to see what he might do getting more than a week of starting snaps in practice before facing a ranked opponent. Hook'em and good luck, Maalik!

I know that tonight Kobe is going to envision one of the most vibrant burnt orange sunsets over the amazing skyline that is downtown Austin. Then his mind like a drone will begin to move toward the bright lights of DKR. As his mental image crests the edge of the stadium Kobe sees himself! He sees himself steps in front makes the pick and heads towards the end zone. The Longhorn cheers get louder, louder and erupt! He the realizes his alarm is going off, and grins about the decision he made! Welcome to the best school in the best city you could have picked. Make the most of it Kobe! Become a Burt Orange Legend!

You will never get as clean and thin a cut with an electric knife. I get the convenience, but hate the cord aesthetically from a presentation perspective. And I like to shave the meat for leftovers on the roasts paper thin!

First off this is a pretty damn cool thermometer that has both meat and ambient temperature. Does some very cool predictive graphing that is pretty accurate in timing big hunks of meat. Mainly you have to make sure to put the probe in deep enough so that the sensor in the tip which is more sensitive does not get screwed up by the ambient temp of the oven. Just put it in up to the line. For $100 a great Christmas gift. Magnetic back lets you tuck it onto side of fridge to keep handy. Th.e 4 probe is an awesome gift for the BBQ cooker that does multiple sizes and cuts of meat at the same time for $225 . The other thing that EVERY kitchen needs is a large carving knife with the little dents in the blade (granton blade) to allow smoother cuts through meat reducing the friction (vacuum creation). This is the one I have had for years. Not the most expensive, but a large carver with a rosewood handle, so it looks nice on the cutting board as well. I think I paid $80 years ago, now it's about $150. Mainly every kitchen needs some sort of large carving knife if you are doing large cuts like rib eye roasts, briskets, or turkeys. Fantastic for shaving rib eye roast leftovers for Philly sandwiches.

I was talking to the wife about this one earlier today. 1978 Sam Houston Coliseum, I got a late invite from a gal on the beach in Galveston. Great song as part of a great show.

What is the music side of the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar like? I have never been actually, but thought I would go check it out and see Sue Foley, and see if there was anything I could not resist. But damn I was looking at the list of artists and wondering if the venue is worth watching music in? I know it's not Continental Club, but what is the vibe? I love the idea of seeing some good music with a 7 pm start time. Haven't seen C.J. Chenier and and the Red Hot Louisiana Band, and he closes Sunday after Shelley King and then Carolyn Wonderland each have earlier sets. But what is the stage area like? I assume there are some adult beverages? https://armadillobazaar.com/2023music/ I have been wanting to see Henri Hebert at C-Boys, and Madam Radar for a full set, as well as some of the other earlier day bands. But is it too boring an environment to see more than just a band while you are shopping?

I'm basically in the same shoes that you guys are wearing, didn't know anything about her past a DJ on Sun radio said she was good. I am open enough to listen to most anything, and to be honest she is not close to what I listen to, but you cannot deny talent. After Cooter said he bought the Album, I played it today, and it was almost the set list, with of course Creep. And she made it her own, which I appreciate. My wife also recognized the song after a couple notes... but mainly because she has hear me sing it dozens of times in Karaoke. Glad to say "list to this gal" and like C-man said, "amazingly talented and a great story. And I thought it was cool that she shared her story honestly, especially her initial hesitating to share her story of starting this new career at 40. I would definitely suggest to anyone to search for Danielle Ponder and Creep and tell me that's not close to epic. Wish that lady all the luck in the world. Like I do every musician!

Well Black Pumas were great. Though Eric Burton's voice was a little tired and after like what 7 nights in a row between Houston and Austin? So he didn't hit some of those super high notes, but still they were great to see. My only disappointment was their encore as I felt like they should have done something more banging, or just close with "Colors." But a really good show as usual, where they really make the audience be a part of the performance. It was also a lot better from a comfort level than the 100 degree outdoor show when I first saw them at Mohawk a few years ago. Burton jumped down into the crowd multiple times. Took time out to take a selfie with the guy in a wheelchair in front of us, and just generally loved the audience as much as they loved him. As usual Adrian was happy ripping along in the background for the most part. The opening act Danielle Ponder was really, really good. Different than my normal musical fare, but she was also super engaging with the audience, and she had a big damn voice. I could totally hear her for example singing the theme song for the next Bond film. In fact I told "the guy she spoke about meeting on a plane" that if I were her manager I would send a tape every day to Barbara Broccoli in hopes of making that a reality. Besides the fantastic voice she had a story to tell. Most interesting is that up until two years ago she was a public defender in NY and decided two years ago to make the leap to music and quit her job. Great fucking decision. Anyhow if you see her on a billing take the time to see her, she was the perfect opening act for the Black Pumas. God I love live music...

The correct answer is how many pieces has the pizza been cut into? Whatever that number is, is the correct answer!

I've got one floor ticket to the Black Pumas tonight. Had a last second bail out. If you are interested in going you would have to meet me downtown as the tickets are will call.

What will be interesting is the hear Twitter AI Gronk argue with non-twit filled AI engines. Gronk - assumes all glass is bulletproof for example That really smart people always say really stupid shit. Assumption #1 being that people on twitter are smart. Gronk is gonna be one confused fucking AI engine... -
