Did you mean OU at Auburn? Bama’s at OU late in the season. I hope OU humiliates the tigers/whar eagles/ plainsmen. Assholes. They can never suffer enough.

Granted. I watched every play of every Bama game that season. I watched a lot of Texas and Colt as well. Colt was a very special cfb player and he and Shipley were like Pat Haden and J.K. McKay and Lynn Swann. I would rather Colt had not been injured and hear all the bitching lo these many yesrs. Marcel Dareus, Rolando McClain, Erik Anders and the Bama defense put several dual threat qbs out of games that year. Was Texas’s qb corch not aware of that? Made me wonder how much video Colt watched. That play happened right in front of me. My first thought when Colt walked off the field with a limp arm was, “Dumbass! Don’t you know better than to run a qb keeper on us?! Especially to Dareus’s side?” As far as McElroy being nothing but a game manager, I challenge you to watch the full game you tube of the 2009 SEC championship. He led not one but two 7:30 minute drives in the second half. Timmah Tebow never had a chance to pull of a miraculous comeback because his ass was crying on sideline with Urban watching the game tick away while our game manager nailed down the win, making Texas vs Bama happen. Football is a rough and dangerous sport played by fast, powerful men. Injuries happen, both game changing and career ending. We will never know what would have happened if Colt had zigged instead of zagged on that play. I believe it would have been a tight game. Pre-Colt injury, we appeared tight and Mack had a great plan, pooching kickoffs away from Arenas. Our offense took a while to get limbered up but Colt didn’t play defense. Ingram and Richardson had some good running lanes and made the most of it. Texas has superior personnel now and we’re sailing into the unknown with DeBoer. Good luck, Horns. I hope you deflower the Big House in a more debauched way than you did Bryant-Denny. Welcome to the “SEC.”

Colt injury excuse drinking game is fucking hilarious. In fairness to Texas, consider this reasonably plausible alternate history scenario: Remember, it was only a three point game in the fourth quarter. If Squints instead of blind side sack fumbling had connected with Shipley a couple of times on that fateful drive, your ace kicker would likely have tied the game with enough time left for us to choke and lose in regulation or OT. Mack stays at Texas through the 2010s, sparing Horns Nation a decade of whining and misery. I concede, Colt’s shoulder injury was a watershed moment in football fortunes for Texas and Alabama. I also concede last September 9th may have been another. It certainly felt like one. Time wounds all heels. Roll Tide anyway. Our quarterback did play the whole game . . . with broken ribs.
  4. Eddie singing “Roxanne” in the jail cell in BHC1 was better than all of the sequels combined. Wait a minute. That was a different movie 48 Hours. Goddam not only am I old as fuck but now the Alzheimer’s is kicking in. Next thing you’ll be telling me is Nick Saban quit coaching football. I’ll stand by the statement that Eddie singing Roxanne beats BHC 1, 2 and this Axel thing.
  5. Reading this under your avatar is just perfect, a la Thelma and Louise driving off that bluff. ZOOOOOM! Your post sounds exactly like something HST would write today if he hadn’t blown his brains all over Owl Creek and had the ashes of what remained of hid brains shot out of a cannon.
  6. I’’ve voted in every presidential election beginning in 1972. I have yet to vote for a Republican and I’m not about to vote for the Enemy of Enlightenment, Mr. Trump. All this angst and whining is like Chicken Little flapping her wings about the sky falling. Outside of maybe drafting Katt Williams, Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle to warm up the rallies, Joe should just keep on keeping on and not give a fuck what’s trending on social media. I mean, did we quit when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? (Hat tip to Senator Blutarsky)
  7. Naah - you’re stereotyping me, brother. Try this - call up Bama Auburn 1985 and compare ten minutes of Jackson and Broyles articulate comments with the same time me length of Fowler and Herbstreit yell-gasms from last year’s Rose Bowl. Other than low-def sound and image quality, practically zero taunting and showboating on the field, and half as much statistical diarrhea, the finished product is simply flat out better. It’s just an opinion and I respect yours, too.
  8. Dan had to set the old Bass-o-matic on high puree with that lovely lady.
  9. Best-looking in that ensemble was the luscious Donna whatsit who later married Fred Garvin, male prostitute. Ah, yes, those were the days when TV networks had “seasons” and motor-driven vehicle manufacturers had “year models,” and Keith Jackson and Frank Broyles or Ara Parseghian or Bud Wilkinson called the college game of the week. Watch one of those on YouTube; they were so simple and pure; no running play clock or game clock or score or hazard yellow “line to make,” nothing on the screen but the game and cheerleaders who had some actual jiggle going on. USC sweater girls - thank you, Jesus!
  10. Therefore, Emory Bellard was the most influential person in college football history?
  11. The long way around is sometimes the shortest way home.
  12. The “Debunker” host asshole lost me when he pronounced the great man’s name PIE-tha-go-rus. He never even said “hypotenuse” either. I’ve seen Terrence in a few films. Seemed like a decent actor to me. Perhaps he is actually interested in learning something new. Bravo, Terrence.
  13. Sacrilege. If Anton Chigurh told Hit Man to “Call it,” Hit Man would piss all over himself. Then Chigurh would shoot him full of holes with that bad ass shotgun. From a block away. RT must be pulling down mucho payola. Shades of Top 40 radio in the 60s. Yeah, I’m old. Fuck alla youse.
  14. Thurmond - check Nixon - check Mitchell - check Hoover - check Trump - check True then, true now. Karma’s a bitch, instant and otherwise. Lennon Lives! Twist and Shout, baby! Fuck alla youse, TrumpWorld. “TIME WOUNDS ALL HEELS”
  15. If I could find a gif of the Young Frankenstein monster licking his lips going “Mmmmmmmmm” as he slowly cuts his eyes at the camera, it would be appropriate here Lickety-split! Eden will be dedicated to John Keats Beauty is truth and truth beauty. That is all you know on Earth and all the fuck you need to know (paraphrasing)
  16. You speak the truth. The Auburn defensive "brain trust" was so concerned about MIlroe scrambling, there was only a three man rush. Even then, only two players made any attempt to pressure Milroe. Weak!
  17. Trump Nation was all prepared to celebrate like the Boogers in Auburn just before this happened. They never conceived they might LOSE! Yeah, yeah. Now the Horns have Bond. I’m sute he’ll excel on the 40 Acres. More power to him.
  18. Donald’s evening Melania? Melania! MELANIA! OPEN THE GODDAM DOOR! Ain’t this a bitch! Changed the locks AGAIN! Hey Rudy, this is Donald, look, I’m going through some things, uh, can I . . . Rudy!? booooooop booooooop booooooop
  19. What’s the over/under on fees Trump stiffs his “defense” attorneys? I’m saying ALL, pick any amount. If they didn’t make him pay up front, they won’t see a farthing or a ha’penny whichever is less.
  20. No. It’s mostly Eastern front for first episodes so much if the killing is done by Red Army shooters and tanks. Plenty of Nazis kilt by Russians and Polish partisans. The guy’s escape from a moving Auschwitz train was bravo.
  21. Damn good WW2 German made. German POV limited series follows five close friends (3 men, 2women) from 1940-45, who are pulled into intereoven plot lines from Stalingrad to Kursk to Auschwitz to Berlin street fighting in April 1945, all strands of which are tied together fast in Episode 3. Well photographed, well played, gory but not gratuitously so. Told from the point of view of young Germans civilans and soldiers caught up in the disintegration of the Nazi war machine following Hitler’s foolish attack on Russia (dumbass!). Enjoyed. It helped that the players were new faces, unkown to me. Not predictable, which was refreshing. Subtitles but worked smoothly. Big Brother 1 - Vehrmacht officer, Daddy’s favorite. Little Brother 2 - Draftee, ends up pulling your attention for his inner courage, disappointment to Daddy. Guy - Juden boyfriend of girl singer who has a Nazi colonel married boyfriend; escapes frim a train bound for Auschwitz and takes up wigh Polish partisans who hate Nazis and Red Army Cute girl - Volunteer nurse at Vermacht field hospital, in unrequited love with Brother 1 Singer girl - Juden lady, great singer, asshole Nazi colonel boyfriend uses her like a toy and destroys her world A small version of Saving Private Ryan, without the grand scale.
  22. If so, I hate to imagine the “punishments” for fumbles, drops, throwing pick sixes, getting pancaked, missing chip shot game winning place kicks and bonehead false starts. ”Fayetteville, AR (AP) Former all-SEC Arkansas quarterback Billy Joe Smegmason was beheaded on the 50-yard line at Razorback Stadium immediately after throwing a pick six on what turned out to be the game’s, and his, final play. Final score- Texas 26 - Arkansas 20”
