  1. First cast of the year. Again, daughter from Chicago insisted we go fishing.
  2. Red letter words - “The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” This past primary broke my brain.
  3. In 2018, I bought a new Tundra from a longtime friend who was in dealership sales. The very first thing he did during the pricing exercise was to strike through all the dealer-installed options while he said “Well I won't charge you that” under his breath. I filed that away for future reference, and next time I need to buy a new car that's the first thing I'm requesting be removed before starting the talks. I didn't order it, and I've never used a warranty other than Discount Tire road hazard. And once I've left the lot, the only thing bringing me back is free oil changes. Also, I'm requesting that they remove the shitty OEM tires and put on new Michelins. I'm not going to spend the first 20K miles rolling on goodyear factory seconds. Apparently, Toyota went with Falkans on the new TRO model that have half the tread depth of replacement tires and people are ditching them after 9k or so miles. I may be wrong, but I honestly believe new non luxury cars come with substandard tires. Port-installed options were a great value, however - the upgraded wheels and steps on the Texas Edition that Gulf States Toyota put on after leaving the factory were a good deal, especially since that model came with additional rebates.
  4. I told my new realtor “your value add is market savvy, insulation from buyers - but more than that, it's accountability for my ADHD and OCD.”
  5. Lol on a Saturday night it's a great meeting
  6. Went to the 37th annual Lake Murray Men’s Conference last weekend in Oklahoma. Fantastic speakers, fun fellowship, and great food. As y'all probably know, conferences and fellowship in AA wherever my travels take me is a big part of my sobriety. Previous Saturday night:
  7. I just made an appt with a realtor to offset my ADHD and OCD, otherwise I'd never get my old house listed. There's a difference between being able to transact real estate and doing it well. I'm also thinking about paying a professional organizer to come inflict some sanity into my wife’s closet and storage environment. Then I'm joining the country club.
  8. That's just the Orange County vote. I'll let my wife narrate. voice recognition isn't working too well but you get the point. “can we just move to Canada? I’m embarrassed to be a citizen of this country I’m embarrassed to have ever declared myself a fucking Republican Greg Abbott, a fucking idiot Cruz over elect Trump, but fuck him for however, long and fucking sucks his dick at the same time that’s an embarrassment , Donald Trump has idiots paying for his fucking legal fees. I’m embarrassed to be an American citizen I’m embarrassed to be a fucking Texas citizen and all of this is a fucking goddamn joke. Thank you.”
  9. Voted during lunch and chatted with his sign waver who is my wife’s step-brother, he made a fortune working for James Street. Was a little surreal seeing Jack Brook’s daughter on the R primary ballot for county tax assessor. Her dad (D) was chairman of the House Judiciary Committee that impeached Nixon. On the same price of grass where I waved signs for my “Uncle,” Mark Stiles.
  10. So do I have your endorsement to vote for Dade?
  11. Great movie. I always wondered how accurate this scene was portrayed.
  12. Desperado (1995). I'm on a Danny Trejo kick. Salma Hayek's sex scene was the highlight, and I know how we feel about her, right?
  13. Jayson blames the Covid lockdown for his son’s difficulties. Whatever AI model he attempted to use in crafting a statement just made him sound dumber. Tldr - Moreover, Todd Palin says hold my beer “Being a father in today's challenging world can be a heavy task. With the constant bombardment of information and influences from all angles, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and uncertain about the best way to guide your children. The challenges we have experienced, especially in the last few years, with schools being shut down, social shut downs, and the depression that was set in from a mismanaged COVID SHUT DOWN. Despite our best efforts, we will fall short sometimes. As a parent balancing work, family, and personal life while striving to be a good role model for your kids can be incredibly demanding. Moreover, the spotlight of today's media can magnify and distort even the smallest aspects of your life. It's disheartening to see your actions or words misrepresented and sensationalized, painting a false picture for the public. These distortions do not only create tension within your family, but also affect your reputation and relationships outside of the home. As a father navigating this complex landscape, it is crucial to stay true to your values, communicate openly with your loved ones, and remember that perfection is unattainable. Striving for honest and genuine connections with your children and keeping them on the right path, despite the challenges and external pressures, is what truly matters in the end."
  14. I really need to stop watching this show while flying. I'm starting to get a reputation for allergy attacks. Great series.
  15. Brisket is my campaign manager when I file as a D for Texas 21. A few weeks back God told him to tell me to run. I hope he remembers. And I hope you all donate to my campaign. We will keep Mary Bond away from the money this time. Seriously, this district is a bloodbath at the moment. People have been indicated (sic) for making terroristic threats at Phelan. His opponent is a lying piece of shit, and the local news in unwatchable due to the negative campaign ads. I stopped by my other house to check the mail as I was out of town for 10 days and not only were there rolled up flyers stuffed into my door handle, the mailbox was stuffed with at least a dozen 11x17 glossies. David Covey seems like a real lying shitbag, as evidenced by the MAGA hat-wearing mouth breathers that walked up my driveway to start an argument. If I were Dade I would have pulled a pistol and stuck it in Covey’s nose and said “if your goons ever set foot in my house again and threaten my wife again I'll kill you, just like I would have done under the castle doctrine if I had been home the day it happened. And whoever is running Ernest Bailes opposition is pure evil. In short, I want tfg to experience serious 2nd-degree radiation burns throughout his soft tissue. Death would be too kind for what he has done to the country.
  16. Fucking government intruding into muh freedoms. let me guess some idiot turned it on, forgot to take the cover off, and burned his house down
  17. At its core, this book reads like the big book. A lot rougher, but amazing nonetheless. He's been sober since August 1968.
  18. This is absolutely hilarious and terrifying
  19. Me too. Almost lost it in front of my seatmate at the end. The scene with the interrogator made me want to go down a different rabbit hole on how each Air Force knew so much about the other. Anyone know of any books?
  20. Bluewater for dinner last night and pancake place for breakfast. I’m sure the conservancy isn’t happy about the oil sheen coming off that boat.
