  1. SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse men’s basketball coach Jim Boeheim struck and killed a man walking outside his vehicle on Interstate 690 around midnight, a source has confirmed for Syracuse.com | The Post-Standard. The man in his 30s had been in a car with four others near Thompson Road in Syracuse when their vehicle crashed for unknown reasons, said a source familiar with the investigation. The man at some point got out of his vehicle, the source said. That’s when Boeheim drove by and struck the pedestrian, the source said. Boeheim is cooperating with the investigation, the source added. Syracuse police Chief Kenton Buckner said a news release would be coming shortly.
  2. Quite a reversal of fortunes for MC after Otamendi 2nd yellow. Were able to keep guys somewhat fresh despite being down a man, and picked up the two late goals for a huge edge in this tie
  3. I don't understand the Spanish broadcast so didn't hear discussion. Just looked to me like the shot was moving too fast for him to get his arm out of the way. I know they review it so must have been convincing
  4. Schalke up 2-1, ANOTHER questionable PK on what looked like a slip/dive on a long free kick into the area
  5. Schalke tie it up, PK on a pretty liberal handball-in-box call
  6. City get an easy one after lazy turnover by Schalke GK
  7. If you can get Galavision you can watch the other match en Espanol
  8. Cordeiro casually drops in "intercontinental playoffs" with no logistical details...probably no more convenient than current set up
  9. Was hoping the Phillies would ink Harper before Manny went, because with only one whale left, Boras can jack the price up and make them sweat. But I think Manny getting 300m helps scare off those mystery teams that were only hanging around looking for a bargain on either guy. The Nationals should jump back in but there hasn't been much buzz about them in a while.
  10. Sports Illustrated gives its blessing / curse to the completion of the process
  11. My Philly schedule at the moment, all small venues: Ryan Bingham (wife's suggestion, but I like his show too) Julia Jacklin / Black Bear Eagle Scout Passion Pit The Faint
  12. Interesting. I would not have expected SEA to be on the left side of the chart, nor SD on the right side (even barely). Obviously lots of factors besides the specific acreage influence hitting/pitching splits. I always felt Arlington had perfect dimensions but the heat/jetstream make it a launching pad much of the time.
  13. I hope the players are compiling evidence then, because if it's that widespread they will win in court again. But so many teams are tanking and/or using analytics as a crutch to avoid signing veterans for more money, I think the market for guys like Moustakas (must less Reynolds) just isn't very strong regardless of collusion. We'll see how it ends up when we get close to opening day...no doubt the big fish are clogging up at least a few other pieces that will fall into place quickly when even one of Bryce/Manny gets done.
  14. Is Stark suggesting there's some secret collusion cabal that OK's certain players to be bid out one at a time? Sorry, but the media - even the good national writers - aren't doing a great job explaining what's so wrong about this offseason. Leave aside Harper and Machado, those are rare cases and they'll get great contracts either way. Is there some team(s) that desperately need Kimbrel, Keuchel, etc but aren't talking to them?
  15. Very nice send-up of Wild Wild Country. The reason the cult wore yellow/black and their new names was hilarious
  16. Even the Night King needs to make some cash in between GoT seasons
  17. LeBron's not lying...of course, the West doesn't have to go through him either at the moment
  18. There was plenty written about Calipari pre-UKY, when he was repeatedly busted. There was at least one major national column calling out Self after the asst coach wiretaps were published. The writers can't really "bring them down" though. Even this FBI thing hasn't collected any scalps yet. As long as those dudes have their jobs - and keep winning - most of the day-to-day coverage will be flattering. Again, most of them are good quotes who treat the media pretty well so that helps.
  19. Bought tickets to her show, but was mainly hooked by this opening act:
  20. Well, the Fish needed a catcher and Alfaro's pretty much middle of the pack so he'll be fine. That trade was about Sixto Sanchez, who gets a lot of Pedro comparisons but may be a lazy headcase too
  21. Those coaches are good with the media and they win. Watch the Sean Miller treatment for comparison, he's a dick to media and has underachieved in March so he'll be easier for the columnists and talking heads to tear into
  22. The Athletic article ($ub req) on Stoops hiring process (w/JR quotes) and mentions the XFL is holding a "research" league in Austin soon...
  23. KD specifically named him in that little rant posted earlier. I haven't followed this drama much, but that particular session he handled very well imo. It's poor journalism for any reporters to think he's going to give a revealing answer about his 2019-20 location while they're competing for another ring this spring.
