  1. I didn't laugh much at the finale, despite Rudd being such a good host. Most sketches were pretty paint-by-numbers, safe for a little chuckle. Still think it's a great, deep cast and they'll get better each year even if some people leave for whatever reason.
  2. From the SB Nation post above. He's just a polarizing, unusual player. I suspect if you had a league-wide re-draft of the whole NBA, most GMs would have him slotted mid 2nd round i.e. top 50 in the league. But I guess it's easy to just pluck the negatives and try to brand him as overrated, scrub, etc.
  3. Bizarre series with teams exchanging what should be soul-crushing blowouts, and each having won a road game. The Bucks have to be loving this, but I wouldn't be surprised if TOR-PHI rides the momentum to snatch at least a game at MIL next week.
  4. Embiid: I don't know what's wrong the last couple games, but he had a great year for the 64 games he played. He went over 30 minutes in 52 of those games, and had four 40+ minute games. He had to play to the end against some bad teams to ensure the Sixers got wins while the new guys adjusted to the system. Was dominant in the last three games vs. Brooklyn and at times during the current series. I wouldn't make to much of this week even if he gets punked again tonight Simmons: Is obviously not a typical guard. Extremely frustrating to have such a key player offer absolutely nothing on the offensive end. I think he's done all he can to defend Kawhi who has been superhuman - there's no way that hasn't detracted from his offense this series. Only a handful of teams have enough size/athleticism to take him out of the offense despite his lack of shooting. He terrorizes most defenses with his passing, penetration and speed. But the last two years in round two of the playoffs, he's been shut down. In short, I get that people have "process fatigue" hearing about these guys but they aren't as bad as the internet nor Bill Simmons would have you believe. Ben is 22, Joel is 24 - very few players that age are still getting minutes at all right now.
  5. Dawkins and his lawyer preening afterward basically saying, yeah the coaches did it but it's the right thing to do so we're not dishing any more specifics than you already got. Dawkins and Code guilty of bribery, NOT wire fraud Dawkins said some college coaches are paying players, "as they should be." "The guys who are are good people to me. I’m with them. I think they should be, that’s the right thing to do," he said. "If you’re making tens of millions of dollars … I (saw) Dabo Swinney got ($93 million over 10 years). There’s no way you should be able to go to sleep at night with (a nearly) $100 million-deal and your players make nothing. That’s b--llsh--.”
  6. The sneak corner was perfect, looked like he improvised it but I'd love to see the breakdown. Had to wait for the other game ball to roll out. Very fitting 4th goal considering how Barca played the whole second half mostly spectating
  7. They were aggressive on everyone and closed down the ball right away. He did have a bunch of assists and shot some FTs. I think the Sixers in the 4th felt they could get good looks from 3 and didn't run thru Embiid as much as usual. Almost worked, but then Jo wasn't really in the game and that was costly with his late misses
  8. They grown-ass-manned us in the 4th, couldn't even get off decent shots. Gasol and Ibaka did enough offensively. Sixers only plus 2 during Kawhi's 4th quarter rest, really even since they had the ball and immediately scored when he came in.
  9. Also means Brighton will need nothing from hosting City next week, not that it was much of a threat
  10. Gonna avoid ESPN for at least 24 hours after this game, I expect they'll devote 60 percent of their airtime to whether Ben Simmons should be suspended, jailed or deported for the slight elbow to Lowry's nuts after Lowry spilled him on the baseline
  11. Leicester have 16 goals in their last 7 matches. City seems more vulnerable when the chances are happening at both ends. Of course, it's the final home match on 8 days rest.
  12. Hard Rock is what you would expect. Massive resort, restaurants were fine, plenty of pools and the beach never felt crowded. Casino won't remind you of Vegas but it's OK, and easy to avoid if you're not into that. We had a very spacious room, though it was a long walk to everything due to the size of the resort.
  13. Always thought he would be a stabilizing force that would help Shaka with in-game stuff. That obviously didn't work out well, but who knows if that was Horn's fault or was just an impossible task
  14. NY Daily News apparently fired Chris Sheridan, who wrote that Ben Simmons drunk column yesterday
  15. The pervy look on the dragon's face as J&D were about to get down almost saved that scene. It was sort of a wink to the audience that the show was being intentionally cheesy, at least that's what I'm going with
  16. I stand by my Bagdhad Bob opinion that The Process is over and it DID work. The Sixers put themselves in position to reach the NBA finals for several years. But a few bad moves (Okafor, Fultz) and some bad luck may unfortunately mean they never get past the second round before we have to burn it down and Process again. If you watched Joel this season you can see why he was worth the risk. He was going 40ish minutes a game as recently as three weeks ago and completely dominating. He's kept it up most of this year and really his whole career *when healthy. (big *, I know). It will piss me off if it turns out this has something to do with playing in the All Star Game. That's when this current issue first cropped up.
  17. Jorge Polanco hits for the cycle in Philly. First Twin since Cuddyer in 2009
  18. Electric Shoes was funny af even though you knew exactly where it was going. Weekend Update was shockingly bad other than Janine. Hope they finish the season strong, I think the cast in general is pretty solid right now.
  19. $25 sent to Huckleberry. Maybe next year we can just pay right after the draft since the formula knows all ☹️
  20. Segura, Harper and Realmuto all easy outs in their first ABs. Game is 1-1 after two innings, Nola 3 BB already
  21. Tracklist A1 –Juice Newton Queen Of Hearts A2 –Rick Springfield Jessie's Girl A3 –Billy Squier The Stroke A4 –Pat Benatar Fire And Ice A5 –Climax Blues Band I Love You A6 –Gary Wright Really Wanna Know You A7 –Manhattan Transfer Boy From New York City B1 –Hall & Oates You Make My Dreams B2 –Greg Kihn Band The Breakup Song B3 –Pablo Cruise Cool Love B4 –Air Supply The One That You Love B5 –Alan Parsons Project, The Time B6 –Stars On Stars On 45 (Medley I) B7 –Oak Ridge Boys Elvira
  22. That and some other details from the Vox review on the previous page. There is all kinds of reasonable doubt as to convicting Adnan, but it's not as much of a reach as the HBO/Serial shows would indicate.
  23. I could have three teams in the Final Four and still be miles from winning this thing. You gotta get a 7 seed or higher correct, probably more than one of those in reality. Even the high seeds I liked ended up bombing out, so I was doomed before we even drafted
