  1. I can't grasp how this didn't get shut down in advance on the music side. Blink 182's generic bailout couldn't have been the only warning sign, right? The talent booker admitted he was 21-22 and had no idea what he was doing. I would think most of the major bands would have forced the issue based on some combination of not getting paid upfront, not having verified flight/lodging information, not having equipment logistics confirmed, sound specs, etc. Just to name one, Major Lazer has 3.6 million Insta followers today - surely there was some back-and-forth with fans in the days before Fyre?
  2. It is begging for a sequel and I'm not sure what the holdup is
  3. Just took the Pacers apart in their own building. Now we face all the good teams in the west for a couple weeks. Gonna be a bumpy ride, especially with Embiid having back soreness. I just want to hold 3rd place until buyout season hopefully brings some depth like last year.
  4. Wetteland was the big signee for '97 but that team fell on its face and they bounced back to win division in '98. Great pitcher, but he never seemed to fit the fun culture of those playoff teams. In your face religion and kind of odd with media as I recall.
  5. Intensity ramped up toward the end of the first episode. I like that the flash forwards add interesting bits of information rather than fuck with viewers' minds a la Westworld. Lots of potential this season.
  6. Surprising end (Alshon rare fuck-up) to a surprisingly bad then surprisingly good Eagles season. I was furious they didn't let that go to the 2-minute warning. Scoring with more than like 35-40 seconds on the clock is basically ceding the game to the Saints anyway. Farewell to Foles for sure. Probably also Jason Peters, Brandon Graham, Jordan Hicks, Golden Tate (yes he was on the Eagles). Maybe Sproles but I bet he gets one more run. Back from injury: Wentz, DT Derek Barnett, CB Sidney Jones. Will need a RB and a pass rusher. Salary cap won't be an issue for at least one more year.
  7. even their fans?
  8. Vic gets it. You would be sitting so pretty to be in the NFC champ game. Hopefully hosting the Eagles, y'all can root for us two weeks in a row!
  9. They could technically franchise Foles. But it's Wentz' team, despite the strong media/fan narrative that Foles is better. He might be, but he's also older and would wreck the salary structure of the roster going forward. It's bizarre, but Wentz wouldn't bring THAT much in a trade (maybe a couple #1 picks and a lower pick) and I'm telling y'all, Foles will not be a major FA target around the league. If he wants to start, he'll probably have to go to a shit team and won't have anywhere near his current success. The NFL is brutal
  10. Eagles will pay Foles the bonus, but he's not coming back in 2019 even if he gets playoff win(s) again. Combination of age and economics, and of course the presence of Wentz. Such a wonderfully bizarre career. I bet he isn't a big FA target around the league, either.
  11. I like the matchup for Philly. Trubisky won't torch the secondary, and Eagles are decent against the run. If we avoid strip sacks, etc. this will be a game to the end. Cowboys may hate it, but the Eagles just gave y'all a nice path to the NFC title game. MIN wasn't winning at Chicago next week, the Eagles at least have a legit chance. If it happens, DAL-SEA winner gets to visit LA Coliseum for the Rams' annual one-and-done instead of the Superdome.
  12. Per Yahoo! : Three members of the Alabama football team, including starting left guard Deonte Brown, will not be playing in the Orange Bowl according to a source. The three players didn’t make the trip to Florida because of a violation of team rules. Brown is believed to be the only starter impacted.
  13. Ohio State is the Trump of college football...fully committed to the scam and don't care how obvious it is.
  14. It's for 2019 but I'm fired up for The Faint comeback
  15. I wish him the best , but I hope Acho's not trying to develop some kind of Bayless/SAS character. Brags about being "one of the youngest national analysts on ESPN" and then throws out one unsubstantiated example of a bad ACL diagnosis, along with his own apparent mis-diagnosis, and that is somehow tied to Carson Wentz right now? And it has something to do with forcing injured guys to play? Every team has this discussion every year. Violent sport, players admit they do whatever they can to stay on the field and earn the paycheck before it's too late. Don't be weird, EA. And surely Surly can think of better reasons for a fuck the Eagles thread than this crap...
  16. I heard an interview with him and he said he always buys the same type of gym shorts, then takes scissors and "cuts the dick out" for more comfort and mobility
  17. Nova will get better, but they're gonna take their lumps. KU should be up in the 20-point range by halftime this weekend. As for the Quakers, lot of motivation to snap VU's city steak there at the Palestra, with one of Penn's best teams in a while. The Ivy could be a safe two-bid conference with Penn and Yale.
  18. I hate that it was the Cowboys who put the final nail in the Eagles, but it was coming anyway. Total SB hangover: age, injuries, performance drop-off, coaches leaving, tough schedule, and the cliche of opponents wanting it more now. Now I hope NFC teams look at this film and realize you shouldn't just play conservative against Dallas because you expect a low scoring game. Receivers can get open, and you can run inside with some success against them. And the refs - WTF on both sides. The teams were struggling enough, we didn't need those ridiculous calls on major plays from literally the opening kick all the way into OT.
  19. I love NFL celebrations, even against my team. I really don't want to see the Vander Esch yodel or Zeke feed-me this weekend, but I respect their right to do it when it's earned. They are rich and famous, they know they might get de-pantsed the very next play but that's part of the job. Notice the other team rarely takes issue with it...just having fun for players, fans and TV cameras.
  20. They're trying to copy Stoops-to-Riley, a handpicked young successor who can maybe relate to players better. Saves some money too, after a year of massive legal bills and probable hush money to people who knew what Zach was up to.
  21. Remember the meaningless 2016 finale where Dak started, then Romo took his first regular season snaps of the year for some reason, and Sanchez got the majority of play against (of course) the Eagles. Philly won 27-13 to hurt their draft position
  22. Beltre > Chipper Jones fuck y'all
  23. But we're still gonna get "Bama was scared" takes all month
  24. Illegal formation on the dagger touchdown? We try to copy SEC in everything, I guess
