  1. Duke probably gets to play in the same building (Greensboro) next week as they're on the cusp of a 4 seed
  2. I love the JAJ Trump as long as it's not every week. Just about every line is funny but also mostly plausible. He was kind of the same as Bill Walton on WU. Absolutely nailed the voice and style. I doubt much of the audience follows Walton as a broadcaster if they know him at all, but it still worked. Less than usual Bowen Yang, but he and Woody were perfect in the classy gym sketch.
  3. It struck me as odd that he starred in the laughably horrible Megadalon Rising (2021). Must have been desperate for money and/or just tripping
  4. Vitale's neighborhood in Sarasota: Fletch : You ever heard of the Emancipation Proclamation? Calculus Entropy : Well I heard something about it, but I don't recall exactly. It didn't get too much publicity around these here parts.
  5. NFL with only 32 teams is able to spend a ton of money on quick, professional replay systems and personnel. College has to account for C-USA stadiums with cables dangling out of the press box, and retired refs who never even learned how to FF/REV on a VCR.
  6. I thought Juju's original was kinda funny tbh. But he seems to be getting ratio'd by other players
  7. That's not at all how he operates. Hurts will get his monster contract, just creatively spread out. Some good players will come back, some will go for the money. Most of the contract decisions are on defense, which I do agree wasn't as good as the numbers indicated. Having the #10 and #30 picks in the first round will help.
  8. The whole NFC was mediocre. Who exactly would have given the Chiefs a better game? The Eagles won't be 14-3 next season, probably lose at KC on opening night. But they will correctly be the favorite for the 1 seed.
  9. Bradberry assumed, like many of us, he could get away with a common infraction at that point in the game. Just as notable was it looked like Mahomes saw it all the way and purposely threw it there to force the ref to throw a flag.
  10. The call felt out of place under the circumstances, but it wasn't like the Saints-Rams total bullshit in 2019. KC simply played a better game over 60 minutes. The Eagles made some killer mistakes including that hold. We needed 40+ to win, which was attainable but it didn't happen.
  11. I could be proven wrong, but we generally don't burn much. It's more destruction of infrastructure like poles, signs, buses. Some place will get looted but it will be something random like a luggage store or cigar shop. I don't think much happens if we lose, especially since it's supposed to start raining around the end of the game.
  12. Omaha band that flashed in the early 2000s. Conor Oberst was a founding member. I've seen them a couple times and it's a really fun, high energy short set. I tried to post Agenda Suicide and Evil Voices, but those videos are "age restricted and only on YouTube".
  13. There was a Matisse Thybulle mural on a bar in Philly, and he went and tagged it "Thank you Philly" in the middle of the night: https://www.instagram.com/p/CoetLTtp_uW/ Fun guy, despite his wellness anti-vax position. Defensive menace, but not really useful on a playoff team.
  14. The Irving/Houston shows for YYYs have The Faint opening, wish I could get down there. No northeast dates for that tour as yet
  15. Here we go again with the City financial witch hunt. It really feels like the Directors' Cup where Stanford kept winning no matter how they tweaked the rules, until they finally shook things up enough that the Texas types can win it (yay!). But Stanford still competes for it, just under more equitable rules. Admittedly I don't understand FFP despite reading quite a bit about it last time. I just don't get how the same evidence keeps getting brought out for years while City (and others) continue to sign players as usual. If there was an obvious infraction, step in and nullify the deal(s). Meanwhile more than half the league exists just to hopefully pull a home upset once in a while. It's bizarre to watch from an American standpoint.
  16. Yah, our 87 win Phillies that hadn't done shit in a decade surging to a 6-game World Series defeat was so heartbreaking Losing to the Chiefs would be harder to take as we are top seed and favored in the game, but Andy Reid is still appreciated in Philly and again this was a completely unheralded team a few months ago. So unless it's a referee/replay fiasco (always possible in the NFL - for either side) I'm afraid y'all haters won't have too many tears to lap up next week
  17. Agent says charges will be dropped "first thing in the morning"
  18. Played at WVU, this incident was reported in Dec. 2019 and he was "welcomed" (per press release) to OKST a month later. He wasn't officially charged so it's possible his name stayed under the radar all this time. Two year starter in Stillwater, undrafted last man to make the Eagles roster and played some special teams snaps in one game. Hasn't been on active roster in the playoffs.
  19. Even in Philly, Hurts doubters were everywhere at the start of the season. They gradually got on board and by mid-year it was obvious he's legit among the top tier of QBs (if you admit that QBs are allowed to run and that should be considered when ranking them). He has improved every year and his teammates love playing with him.
  20. Next level denialism here. Sorry mid-career Montana and Young weren't available. And the Eagles were smart enough to get a play off before the Niners - who earned their way there - could challenge an obviously huge play. Otherwise surely the troubled Eagles (16-1 with Hurts, 6-0 against playoff teams with Hurts) would have been EXPOSED
  21. We don't know if she was aggressive with him, nor if he showed restraint. I don't think there are any details other than the initial police report. Shanahan said he's playing if healthy FWIW
