  1. Both wake up and don whatever religious dogma will get them the most attention that day. They have no cores, so therefore no core beliefs other than can seize control of the state. If they need to convince people some god deigned that, then so be it. Good enough for the Sun King, good enough for the Rep. buffoonery.
  2. Yeah, tying it back down to his daughter's TikTok account.
  3. I agree. First it was the stuffed suit Quayle, then the idiot Palin, and they both paved the way for Trump. On the other hand, the further they move the scale to ignorant, the more voters they lose. So maybe there's still a chance. But self serving morons like Manchin and Sinema are like wolves in sheeps' clothing devouring the herd from the inside. Being just like their Republican counterparts, just blocking and never offering any cogent or workable alternatives.
  4. I agree with Brisket on this. Too many people believe that American governance is bulletproof to these types of coups. Just like they believed the Titanic was unsinkable. Until it wasn't. And how long has it been since they removed government from the mandatory list of classes? I blame some of this on the fact that they get the dullest, dumbest people to teach government in high school. Usually a coach. I think eventually the GQP will tell enough lies to enough people and then not follow through, thus they will lose votes. But I fear either the earth will be well past the tipping point by then and/or Bezos and all the other upper elite will have sucked all the money out of the world.
  5. Well you know better than I do. I appreciate the input. I'm still going to watch it though but with eyes wider open.
  6. Not sure if any of our resident lawyers are interested, but I have a registration link for the following MCLE course. It's free and good for one hour of credit. TX Bar Course #: 174144935 Investment Monitor “efforts to undermine the integrity of US elections carry a heavy cost for businesses and could weaken investment in the country.” The authors put a price tag on U.S. political strife. This months CLE features a brilliant expert: Ray Perryman of The Perryman Group. Texas’s voter suppression measures will cost the state $14.7 billion in annual gross product by 2025 and $1.5 trillion over the next 25 years. Texas would lose 73,249 jobs by 2025 as businesses and investment exit Texas. The impact of our state’s oppressive policies is correlated to declining wages. "For the first time since the Cold War, there is now concern about medium and long-term political stability of the US business environment,” Jonathan Wood, lead analyst for North America at global political risk consultancy Control Risks, told the reporters. “And what we are seeing in voter suppression acts and political gerrymandering, etc, is undermining that perception of the US as a very predictable and stable environment.” The Perryman Group concluded: "While there are many other important advantages to, and compelling reasons for, encouraging political participation by all eligible citizens, the economic ramifications are substantial and worthy of significant attention as restrictions on voter access are considered.” It's tomorrow at noon-1:30. Message me for the registration link if interested. I'm not a lawyer, nor play one on TV, but this seems interesting enough to put in an hour or so.
  7. I agree. The thing with this movement is how easy it is to overlook it or minimize it because it seems so preposterous. The idea our country would allow itself to reverse centuries of human rights advancement to set up a Church of England style theocracy is simply too ludicrous to be taken seriously. But then we live in a world where we disregarded the Q movement because their whole pedophile cabal shit. I remember posting here at some point a recommendation to watch The Family on Netflix and it was basically chuckled at because it just seemed too conspiritorical, but it's a thing, and it's another name for dominionism. See the ALEC part of his thesis. I think educating people about this movement in ways that shows just how successful they have been, and the ways and wheres of where this is headed is essential to disarming it. Along with bringing to heel many of our Texas Pols like Patrick (if covid doesn't get him first). I just have to wonder how all the Catholics would feel if they knew their generations to come would be under Texas Baptist Bible Belt rule?
  8. Like slow release cyanide pills with trippy highs as side effects.
  9. Is this where we can discuss Dominionism, or do we have another thread for that? I think it's time. I have a friend who is a retired reporter and has done some research in this recently. I'll put his thesis in quotes so as to not long cat the thread. I know we've touched on it a few times, but it seems to be gaining steam. To me it's another spoke in the wheel to influence voters. Just through different channels, but basically the same authoritarian basis white male supremacy. Here are the actual PDFs for those who would want to follow the citation links. Buchanan analysis - rev 2021-12-21.pdf
  10. It will probably be like their class attendance records, they'll pay some student smart enough to keep their mouth shut to do the work for the athlete. Leaving his only obligation to be publicity appearances.
  11. Front page above the fold on the Eagle is a big story on the 100 year anniversary of the 12th Man. The lack of self awareness is amazing. But everything in B/CS revolves around kids being aggys. No one really cares if they get a degree or even a job. Just come be a good aggy, buy lots of maroon crap, pay rent to some apartment mogul corporation and buy food at their Cane's or Chik Fil A franchise. The purpose of A&M is not for the education of good students, but for the fleecing of all. For those who do make it out and get employed, they are so full of the maroon spirit they just feed the machine. It's all hype over substance, and football and the delusions attached to it fuel it more than anything.
  12. It's not only the cheating, but the violent crap they let slide over and over again. Baylor rapers, Mixon, Tyreek Hill and on an on. Yes, football is a violent sport, but that doesn't mean off the field antics like that should be condoned just to keep that player on the field. Baylor should still be climbing out from under the rock a death penalty ruling would have sent them under. Fuck the hypocritical NCAA. Saban is good, no doubt. But he grey shirted his way into building this dynasty with some pretty shady moves. If the NCAA would have been for real and actually been intent on enforcing their own rules, we would have more parity. But they don't. And it's probably too late at this point, unless the majority of the schools rise up and demand some serious changes in rules and enforcement. Problem is most of those schools are already working in the red athletically, so where would the money come from to add the additional personnel to administer and enforce? That should be figured into every broadcast contract. And as long as the NCAA does it's job, then they keep them. But not this sham we have now. What Saban is doing right now is akin to what DKR was accused of concerning stockpiling scholarship players just to keep them from playing for other schools. So scholarship limits were instituted, and scholarship reductions were substantial parts of NCAA punishments. The difference is that back then is that most players saw college ball as the pinnacle of their career and not a stepping stone into the NFL. It will be interesting to see how NIL plays into all this. But I think even with NIL the playoffs need to be expanded. NCAA has done some pretty shitty stuff when it comes to basketball too. They do pretty well in the sports that aren't basically farm leagues for higher up professional leagues. Get the idea I think we should either push for the NCAA to do it's job, or just drop the pretenses and go fully wild, wild west?
  13. The kid who was shirtless in overalls and had his face buried in a yellow towel, presumably sobbing. He was rather dramatic looking. I tend to agree with Mirro on his assessment.
  14. I saw one version of the Cheyenne Social Club that had one of the girls in a lavender see thru nighty. It was Elaine Devry Probably the first tits I ever clearly saw on a TV screen. Unfortunately that was before VCRs, so there was no pause and linger available. Spoiler for mild NSFW: That had to be a fun movie to make.
  15. Yes it is. From what I got from the thread, he was on a white supremacists' training/retreat kind of trip, seemingly pretty common. He was then targeted and grooming began to utilize him as a Russian prop. Same as Trump, his ego is too big to accept he's being played. That was back in August.
  16. "Mental health is bogus hocus pocus. Made up shit by little pansies who don't get enough attention. That's why we need more guns, so we can protect ourselves from these drama queens when they go rogue. Amirite?" - any MAGA rural parent.
  17. They ought to also have her wear a surgical mask all the time that she's handwrites "I'm a dumbass selfish cunt" on.
  18. I kept thinking of the similarities in Waddle and Worthy.
  19. Finished Ep 3 earlier. Those Germans were damn bright, picking up conversational English in 2 weeks like that. Why do these studios spend so much on these productions but then never spend much on research and facts? Parts of it are really good, particularly the parts that show that it was grittier and less lawless than stereotypical western fare has pushed on us. But sure a lot of literary license being taken too. I guess it's just disappointing, again. Most mini-series are pretty loose with the facts and timeline. I'm thinking Lonesome Dove was probably most realistic to time and place. And oh yeah, Sam Elliot is good. But I can't think of anyone whose appearance changes so drastically with the removal of facial hair.
  20. I was busy keeping the spirits up in the Christmas Assembly thread. Hope everybody had a great day and enjoys the fuck outta putting all those decorations away!
  21. while she might not have aged well, she looked good in that movie. As did the other ladies in it.
