Im logical. If they bring their family legally across a point of entry claiming asylum they aren't seperated. If they hop the border with children they are apprehended and seperated until it can be figured out who everyone is. They are sent home with thier kids if they entered illegally.

Its the law. Its setup to prevent criminals from taking advantage of children.

You are inhumane for thinking we shouldn't stop coyotes raping women and children, or human traffickers from selling people. Thats what this thread is about.

I have crossed a lot of borders and agents can usually determine if a child is really with a parent with a couple simple questions.

Separating children from parents is evil.

You are evil.

You crossed borders at entry points, not illegally. You bring children to the middle of the desert and cross a border fence and see what happens.Try it into Canada, they will detain you and split you up to figure out who you are.

Call me what you want, you know I'm correct.

More hilarious q shit. Is there a q thread?

I haven't followed this thread at all. But suppose I wanted to offer a "foster home" to a half dozen Central American girls...oh, say ages 13-16...who were recently separated from their families at the border thanks to Trump's new zero tolerance immigration policy. Who would I call?

I would say Bill Clinton, child separation started on his watch and he was known to like the kiddies so that'd be a great place to start.

Yesterday on NPR, they reported on a father that was having his hearing before an immigration judge who had a child taken from him. They hadnt yet determined anything. He asked about his child and it was discovered that the child had been in a Texas facility but was moved to California, even before this father had his trail.

So tell me, where are you getting the information that people entering at a point of entry seeking asylum legally aren't separated?

This administration is seeking to scare people from seeking asylum. Many are being turned away with threats of removing their children. That if they enter, they WILL be separated. What makes you think that isnt happening?

Just for clarification's sake, people can come to the border seeking asylum and attempt to check all the boxes from the outset.  Others can assert asylum as a "defense" to a removal or deportation proceeding after unlawful entry and apprehension.  I suspect that they are treated differently.

Any further distribution revictimizes the child, and because of that, PJM will not share the video or photos from the movie that show the victims' faces. The only thing the public can do is report it to the authorities.”

FBI: Clinton Campaign Official Arrested On Child Rape Charges

One of Hillary Clinton’s campaign officials was arrested Tuesday on child sex abuse charges, the FBI has confirmed.

Joel Davis was caught in possession of explicit child sex images and had attempted to get access to children as young as 2 years old for sex.

Davis was chairman of the International Campaign to Stop Rape and Gender Violence in Conflictcharity. He also worked on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Dailymail.co.uk reports: Davis allegedly told undercover FBI agents that he was sexually interested in children of all ages. He is accused of sending the agents sexually explicit photographs of infants and toddlers, including some of the children engaged in sex acts with adults.

The 22-year-old allegedly arranged to meet the nine-year-old daughter of one of the undercover agents and with the purported two-year-old daughter of the officer’s girlfriend.

He allegedly went into detail in the text messages about what sexual activities he intended to engage in with the children.

Prosecutors say Davis repeatedly asked the undercover agent to take naked and sexually explicit pictures and videos of the children and to send them to him.

Following his arrest, Davis allegedly admitted to officers that he had abused a 13-year-old boy in the past and that he kept child porn images on his phone.

‘Having started an organization that pushed for the end of sexual violence, Davis displayed the highest degree of hypocrisy by his alleged attempts to sexually exploit multiple minors,’ FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge William F. Sweeney Jr. said.

‘As if this wasn’t repulsive enough, Davis allegedly possessed and distributed utterly explicit images of innocent infants and toddlers being sexually abused by adults.’

Davis faced Manhattan federal court on Tuesday charged with enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity, attempted sexual exploitation of a minor, possession of child pornography and receipt and distribution of child pornography.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Davis has attended Oxford University, Columbia University and The Juilliard School.

US Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman described Davis’ alleged actions as ‘unfathomable’ and ‘sickening’.

‘Davis started an organization devoted to stopping sexual violence, while allegedly engaged in the duplicitous behavior of sharing explicit images of infants engaged in sexual activity,’ he said.

‘Davis also allegedly solicited an undercover officer – whom he thought to be a willing participant – to send sexually explicit videos of his nine-year-old daughter, and even to set up a sexual encounter between himself and a two-year-old.

‘The conduct alleged against Joel Davis is as unfathomable as it is sickening, and as this case demonstrates, law enforcement will keep its watchful eye on the darkest corners of the internet to bring predators to justice.’

This has nothing to do with human trafficking.
The normalization of sexuality involving children via media does have to do with child sex trafficking.

Case in point, the original version of the animated children's movie "Show Dogs" has scenes where the puppies genitals need to be inspected and he's told to go to his happy place while it happens. There's nothing normal about that, this is a movie marketed towards children that was released and only later edited after parents objected.

Pornography is not trafficking. Prostitution is not trafficking. Neither should be conflated with trafficking the way you are doing it.

That is not to say that persons who are being trafficked won't be forced to engage in either. But trafficked persons may be forced to pick crops or work in construction. There is not a one to one correlation with pornography or prostitution.

In the article you just posted there was no mention of trafficking. Some people are using trafficking in too broad a way, in part to attack legal attack legal pornography and legal aged prostitution that may be and should be legal.

Nun at charity founded by Mother Teresa arrested, accused of trafficking babies

A nun and one other employee serving at a Missionaries of Charity center in India founded by Mother Teresa has been arrested and accused of child trafficking.

Acting on a series of complaints, the Indian Child Welfare Committee (CWC) affirmed that they are in the process of investigating the sale of a newborn baby boy from the Nirmal Hriday (Pure Hearts) home to a couple in Uttar Pradesh for 120,000 rupees – around $1,700. The baby was reported to have been born at the charity on March 19 and sold through the black market to a couple on May 14.

The nun at the center of the scandal, publicly identified only as Concilia, was detained on July 4 and the following day was placed under judicial custody by the court. Another employee from the center, set up by the late Mother Teresa -- who was canonized as St. Teresa in 2016 -- was also arrested in connection to alleged trafficking cases.

The charity has expressed shock over the allegations.

“We are shocked to know what has happened in our home… it is completely against our moral conviction,” Sunita Kumar, spokesperson for the Missionaries of Charity, stated. “We are carefully looking into this matter. We will take all necessary precautions that it never happens again, if it has happened.”

St. Teresa, who died in 1997, established the Missionaries of Charity in 1950 and now has more than 3,000 nuns operating the sisterhood globally – following in her footsteps to provide soup kitchens, hospices, schools, leper colonies and homes for forsaken minors. The charity also offers shelter for unmarried women, but no longer facilitates adoptions.

Once plagued by lengthy wait times, stringent laws and hefty costs, the Indian government sought to streamline the process in 2015 by moving the system online with a national database of the tens of thousands of available children. The Missionaries of Charity however, opposed the changes on the basis it gave leeway for single women and unmarried couples to adopt.

And despite efforts to make Indian adoptions more transparent, the black market continues to thrive as prospective parents often find it easier to skirt the legal system and adopt directly from hospitals or orphanages, exacerbating the trade in child trafficking.

Police also redeemed 140,000 rupees – just over $2,000 – from the Mother Teresa-founded center located in the eastern Indian city of Ranchi in the state of Jharkhand, and are believed to be broadening their investigation.

“We have found out that some other babies have also been illegally sold from the center. We have obtained the names of the mothers of these babies and are further investigating,” a police official told the BBC.

Officials are “investigating to see how the operation was run and how many more children have been given away in the last few years.” Arti Kujar, head of the Jharkhand State Child Protection Society, told Reuters that they suspect the home was charging upwards of $600 for each baby, depending on what the prospective parents could afford to pay.

“We hear that babies are being sold in other homes as well and are determined to put a stop to it,” Kujur said.

Trafficking of children in India carries a ten-year sentence.

The CWC has since relocated at least 13 pregnant women who were living in the once Mother Teresa-helmed center to another undisclosed location and the 3-month-old baby at the center of the investigation remains in CWC custody.

Nonetheless, skeptics of the accusations have also pointed out that the pro-Hindu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which administers the government in Jharkhand state has been accused by Christian activists of targeting their religious minority, suggesting that the nun’s arrest may be part of a larger effort to tarnish the reputation of the church.

Train Passenger Uses a Twitter Post to Help Rescue 26 Girls From Traffickers

A quick-thinking train passenger is being hailed for rescuing 26 Indian girls from the clutches of two human traffickers

Adarsh Shrivastava was on a train that was traveling through Uttar Pradesh last week when he noticed something strange about his fellow passengers. His train cabin was filled with girls between the ages of 10 and 14 – and almost all of them were visibly distressed. Some of the youngsters were even crying.

Sensing that something was afoot, Shrivastava pulled out his phone, created a new Twitter account, and sent several messages detailing the situation to railway and law enforcement authorities, saying that he suspected the girls to be victims of human trafficking.

Upon writing out his cabin and train number, the Good Samaritan only had to wait thirty minutes before the Ministry of Railways Twitter account responded to the message. A few stops later, several police officers boarded the train and arrested two men who had been transporting the girls for a human trafficking scheme.

“Their parents have been informed and the men have been taken into custody,” a statement from the Railway Protection Force said.

Many social media users are calling Shrivastava a hero and asking the Prime Minister of Indian to honor him for his actions – however, Shrivastava has simply responded by saying: “Thanks, but as a citizen of India, it’s our responsibility to help people.”

The rescue comes less than a month after India’s Railway Board launched an awareness campaign to highlight the risks of vulnerable young children on the railway network. The campaign encourages railway passengers and employees to remain vigilant while using India’s train systems to help railway police stamp out child traffickers.

According to the Ministry of Women and Child Development, over 9,000 Indian children were victims of trafficking in 2016. Many children are sold into slavery after being lured from their homes in rural areas to the city with promises of jobs.

Children, usually from poor and rural areas, are hoodwinked into leaving their homes on the promise of getting jobs in the city. They are then trafficked for child labor, sex work, child brides, adoption, and sometimes sent overseas. Earlier this year, the Ministry announced that it was increasing its effort to tackle trafficking.

Border Patrol Agents Protect Two Juveniles from Human Trafficking

Release Date:
July 2, 2018

YUMA, Ariz. – Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Yuma Central Processing Center identified two unaccompanied alien children believed to be victims of human trafficking.

On Sunday at approximately 9:30 a.m., a Yuma Station Border Patrol agent arrested eight subjects who surrendered after they illegally crossed into the U.S. near the San Luis Port of Entry.  All eight were determined to be Guatemalan nationals and were transported to the Yuma Central Processing Center.

A Border Patrol agent later interviewed one of the subjects, a 16-year-old male, who claimed that both of his parents were still in Guatemala.  The juvenile gave the agent a written phone number for a person who he claimed was a relative living in the U.S.  The agent called the number and spoke to a female who claimed to be the relative.  After questioning, the agent was able to establish that the female was not in fact a relative and was impersonating one in hopes of having the juvenile released to her.  The juvenile eventually admitted that the woman was not a relative, and that his parents had arranged for him to be smuggled from Guatemala to Michigan in order to perform unspecified work for an unidentified person.

Agents later spoke to a second Guatemalan juvenile from the original group of eight, a 17-year-old male. The second minor had an almost identical story as the 16-year-old to include the same alleged relative and phone number.

Both juveniles were processed as unaccompanied alien children.

Federal law allows agents to charge individuals by complaint, a method that allows the filing of criminal activity charges without inferring guilt. An individual is presumed innocent unless or until competent evidence is presented to a jury that establishes guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents effectively combat smuggling organizations attempting to illegally transport people and contraband through southwestern Arizona and California.  Citizens can help the Border Patrol and U.S. Customs and Border Protection by calling 1-866-999-8727 toll-free to report suspicious activity.  Callers can remain anonymous.

This is so stupid. Where I am living young people come from the provinces to the bigger cities like Manila all the time because a "cousin" or "aunt" can help them get work. This is not trafficking, it is the way most of the world works for young people looking for new opportunities.

Not sure if the Stormy Daniels arrest is just political retaliation or part of something more.  Or why not both?  She's a member of the NXIVM cult so there's that.

Cops claim porn star Stormy Daniels' arrest stemmed from a 'human trafficking' probe

Police in Columbus, Ohio, on Thursday claimed their arrest of porn star Stormy Daniels at a local strip club for allegedly touching undercover cops stemmed from a long-term probe of human trafficking, prostitution and other vice crimes at local adult hot spots.

In response, Daniels' lawyer, Michael Avenatti, told CNBC: "I have serious doubts about the truthfulness of that press release" by the department.

Earlier Thursday, meanwhile, Avenatti told MSNBC that he has been told female police officers had approached Daniels during her performance at the club and "asked her if they could put their faces between her breasts."

Police said that Daniels had repeated physical contact with patrons at the club and that she also forced the faces of several undercover officers into her breasts during the show.

Daniels, 39, was arrested early Thursday morning at the Sirens strip club in Columbus. It was the latest stop on an ongoing tour that has garnered widespread attention due to her claims of having had a sexual encounter with President Donald Trump in 2006. The White House has denied Daniels' claims.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, was charged with touching three different undercover vice officers during her performance. She was released on $6,000 bond hours later after being booked on three counts of illegal sexually oriented activity in a sexually oriented business. Ohio law bars nude or semi-nude dancers from having physical contact with non-family members during a performance.

Avenatti said he would be entering a not guilty plea for Daniels on Thursday, which would mean she would not have to appear for an arraignment scheduled in court Friday.

On the heels of the bust, Avenatti said it was "politically motivated" and "reeks of desperation."

But police claimed otherwise in a Twitter post Thursday morning.

Avenatti said on MSNBC that the arrest of Daniels was "an absurd use of law enforcement."

He also said that "I understand there have been other performers arrested in Columbus" for similar crimes "and prosecutors have decided not to press charges."

Avenatti said he has been in contact with prosecutors and that he believes they will be "reasonable." Avenatti later tweeted that prosecutors had indeed dropped the charges.

Meredith Tucker, a spokeswoman for the Columbus City Attorney's Office, told CNBC that "we're in conversations with defense counsel. We're doing our due diligence but at this point cannot comment further because of pending litigation."

An arrest report released by police said three Columbus detectives and one police officer went into Sirens at 10 p.m. Wednesday "investigating Vice related offenses as a result of complaints alleging prostitution and drug activity." The police were two men and two women, records show.

At 11:30 p.m., Daniels took the main stage and began performing, police wrote.

"During her performance after removing her top exposing her breasts she began forcing the faces of patrons into her chest and using her bare breasts to smack the patrons," police wrote. "The officers also observed Ms. Clifford fondling the breasts of female patrons."

The reports said that three of the police in the club then approached the stage, and "Ms. Clifford made her way over to Det. Keckley and began performing in front of her." Keckley is a woman.

"Ms. Clifford leaned over, grabbed Det. Keckley's head and began smacking her face with her bare breasts and holding her face between her breasts against her chest," police said.

Daniels then did the same thing to Detective Lancaster, a man, according to the report, and later fondled "Ofc. Praither's buttock and breasts," the report said.

"She then forced Ofc. Praither's head into her chest between her breasts and began smacking her faces with her breasts," police wrote.

At the time this was all going on, Detective Steve Rosser was watching it happen from the bar area, according to the report.

Rosser had been accused of entrapment in 2015 by a Municipal Court judge in Columbus, according to a report in The Columbus Dispatch.

Judge David Tyack in that case found that Rosser improperly persuaded employees of a Columbus bar to serve alcohol to a minor, according to the newspaper.

Rosser was a friend of a number of the bar’s employees. He had played on the bar’s volleyball team and was previously involved in a romantic relationship with one of the bartenders, the judge noted.

Columbus police declined to comment on Rosser or the Daniels case overall.

The Storny thing is just typical politically-driven bullshit because "human trafficking" is a law enforcement priority!!!111!!1  By calling anything and everything touching on prostitution a "human trafficking" investigation or arrest, they probably get a free MRAP from the feds or some shit.

Exactly the kind of state-of-the-art thinking that gave us the drug war.

Or maybe it's more related to her connection to NXIVM than whatever connection she has to consensual adult prostitution.
