My son played against Carl Albert the past two years. They are a great football team. They have had a bunch of kids transfer in the past two years from local schools. My son said that they were the best team he had ever played against. He moved to a different school this year in 6-A so we will not play them. Thank Jesus

Took a look at the OU class for 25', and they already have nine commits.  Didn't look like we offered any of them.  Can't think of many recruits that we may be going head-to-head with them for, guessing some of the DFW guys like Fasusi and Haywood.  Coby Sellers has a OU pick on On3.

Is this the class you build when you think you may have a tough year, so you build it early, get everyone rating it high (because you have so many committed) and use as an argument for keeping the HC if things go south during the season?

They aren't firing BV if things go south this year just because he won 10 games last year with a weak schedule

Depends on how "south" it gets, but yeah, first year in the SEC probably buys him at least another year even with a semi-rough performance.

OU has two OL committed, out of 13 commits. Thats not getting it done, is it?

Here is the OU class.  Outside of Fodje's visit and offer and maybe Blaylock visiting many moons ago, I've never heard of these guys or seen any interest from our side.

yeah but they are the ones who need to badly pick up a center through the portal to help fix the hodge podge OL they have assembled..

This OU podcast was recorded after they signed Williams, and before they lost Lole. Tune in around minute 37 for the good stuff:

-they mock LSU and Kelly for being poor, saying LSU is where OU was last year, NiL-wise.

-they pat themselves on the back for signing Williams. “Brent had a plan. He wanted one center and two DTs, and he got all of the actual guys he wanted”. “Who cares if you overpay? You get the guy you want”. “Williams wasn’t signed because of the NIL. It was good, old fashioned solid recruiting.” (just like Switzer used to say when he was buying players).
-More portal talk. They have Deion Burks figured as a true star, a for-sure NFL player.
-They accuse Texas fans of “sour grapes” over Williams.

-They exult in how OU has NIL and the portal figured out now.

I know there are some guys that can make good, qualitative assessments of players, such as Williams or Burke. I’m not one of those guys. I doubt the OU podcasters are, either. In a year, Williams may be a star DT for a resurgent OU defense. Or, he may be a JAG, splitting snaps on a 7-5 team. Or, he may be injured or a bust. I’m fine waiting and seeing.

I listened to part of the ON3 Sooner Scoop “Unofficial 40” podcast (it is impossible to listen to all of it, unless you care deeply about collegiate softball). It’s a great example of how fanbases obsess on their teams and know little about others.

They suggested Lole flipped to Texas because he was concerned about the competition for playing time at OU (because, in their minds, Murphy and Sweat leaving means there has to be an empty cupboard behind?). Also, they are already counting Damonic Williams as a dominant player. They also suggested the reason OU was inactive on Edges in the portal was due to there not being any really good ones (Trey Moore?). They talked a lot about not going to the portal if you like your young players and can count on them developing.

To that last point- those young, developing players? You better have NIL built in for that, or you’re just going to develop them for Ole Miss or Oregon. Or Missouri, like they lost that freshman OL to.
