Good for them. So much more fun going to Iowa and visiting the in-laws when Iowa State and Iowa (and even Nebraska) are in fairly equal footing. Especially when we’re in the playoffs.

10 years ago, it seemed like there were no Iowa State fans. I have a great niece at ISU currently (ISU legacy), but most of the family are Hawkeyes, even her own father.

When I was growing up in the 90’s there was one other Cyclone fan in my grade.  It was a big deal to see someone in ISU gear.

Now it’s impossible to go around (outside of Iowa City) and NOT see ISU gear.

The idea that ISU would regularly put 61K of their own fans in Jack Trice would have got you committed.  This program/entire athletic department has done things absolutely no one thought possible.

Tell me about Rocco Becht, @Al_4_ISU, @Ace000087, @SnowAggy

My son just had Rocco as his coach for Manning camp. He loved Rocco and Rocco was high on my son and threw the ball to him often in 7v7 comp.

My observations - the best QBs out there looked like Arch, Nussmeier, Klubnik and Rocco. And Chandler Morris is a douche.

Fuckin’ love Rocco.  Dude’s got the winning gene where he just finds ways to make big plays in the crunch.  Downside is he’s a little bit of a gunslinger and when he throws picks (which isn’t often) they almost always end up being pick 6s.  He’s a very effective runner, although it’s not a cornerstone of his game.

As a human being, he seems like a great guy.  His teammates love him, and after a town in Iowa had a school shooting in the spring of ‘24, he put on a free camp for the kids there.

He’s gonna be 3rd or 4th round guy, and likely have a long career as a backup and elite locker room guy.  Then again, there’s a lot of Purdy in his game and maybe he’ll go beyond that.

He’s a really good kid and had tree trunks for legs. Not very tall, but can sling it.

I'm always glad to see Iowa State win.

And what the fuck happened to Oklahoma State?

It wasn't the best conference for us, but I still like some of the teams.

The red head above is pretty.

I wanted the Cy-Hawk game to be at 2:30, so it could’ve had my full attention.    That is a great annual rivalry of head slapping football.  Great win for the Cyclones!  Best of luck and stay healthy.

Really like this years team, QB, and Coach.

Hook’em!!!

congratulations to @Al_4_ISU on an assico win

clones should be the rig favorites now

the fighting danny whites (az state) looked bad in starkville

those with playoff aspirations must not lose to klan aggy is a secret committee variable

your schedule looks entirely manageable with off weeks either side of your make-or-break stretch

you have the brethren and asu at home before what looks to be the trickiest game in fort worth

Frog will be a motherfucker.

Kansas has given us fits the last few years as well.

Glad we don’t have Utah

OUCH... 🙄  Iowa State loses pair of starting CBs for season 😬

Iowa State CBs Jontez Williams, Jeremiah Cooper out for season

Associated Press     Oct 1, 2025

AMES, Iowa -- No. 14 Iowa State's secondary will be without longtime starters Jontez Williams and Jeremiah Cooper for the rest of the season because of knee injuries.

Coach Matt Campbell announced Tuesday that Williams damaged the ACL in his right knee late in the Cyclones' 39-14 win over Arizona on Saturday. Cooper tore his ACL in practice last week. The two have combined for 55 starts.

Williams, an Associated Press All-Big 12 second-team pick in 2024, had one interception and two pass breakups this season. He was hurt with three minutes left against Arizona as he dove in an attempt to knock a ball away from a receiver.

"So that's a situation that really stinks for the kid," Campbell said. "But man, just how he's handled it has been uber impressive. And a great human. He'll be back ready to rock and roll next year."

Cooper has made 36 starts since 2022 and was an AP All-Big 12 first-team pick at safety in 2023. He switched to cornerback full time this season and had an interception and three pass breakups through four games.

Tre Bell, a transfer from Lindenwood, made his first start for the Cyclones in Cooper's place against Arizona. Quentin Taylor Jr., who played 26 snaps against Arizona, would be in line to make his first start when the Cyclones (5-0, 2-0 Big 12) visit Cincinnati (3-1, 1-0) on Saturday.
