Good for them. So much more fun going to Iowa and visiting the in-laws when Iowa State and Iowa (and even Nebraska) are in fairly equal footing. Especially when we’re in the playoffs.

10 years ago, it seemed like there were no Iowa State fans. I have a great niece at ISU currently (ISU legacy), but most of the family are Hawkeyes, even her own father.

When I was growing up in the 90’s there was one other Cyclone fan in my grade.  It was a big deal to see someone in ISU gear.

Now it’s impossible to go around (outside of Iowa City) and NOT see ISU gear.

The idea that ISU would regularly put 61K of their own fans in Jack Trice would have got you committed.  This program/entire athletic department has done things absolutely no one thought possible.

Tell me about Rocco Becht, @Al_4_ISU, @Ace000087, @SnowAggy

My son just had Rocco as his coach for Manning camp. He loved Rocco and Rocco was high on my son and threw the ball to him often in 7v7 comp.

My observations - the best QBs out there looked like Arch, Nussmeier, Klubnik and Rocco. And Chandler Morris is a douche.

Fuckin’ love Rocco.  Dude’s got the winning gene where he just finds ways to make big plays in the crunch.  Downside is he’s a little bit of a gunslinger and when he throws picks (which isn’t often) they almost always end up being pick 6s.  He’s a very effective runner, although it’s not a cornerstone of his game.

As a human being, he seems like a great guy.  His teammates love him, and after a town in Iowa had a school shooting in the spring of ‘24, he put on a free camp for the kids there.

He’s gonna be 3rd or 4th round guy, and likely have a long career as a backup and elite locker room guy.  Then again, there’s a lot of Purdy in his game and maybe he’ll go beyond that.

He’s a really good kid and had tree trunks for legs. Not very tall, but can sling it.
