I’d say there is tons of demand there as evident by them gutting the media area, relocating it, and putting in more suites for even more expensive seating. The stadium is completely sold out and we are at record season ticket sales so yeah the evidence tends to point that wait list and demand is more than there

The "evidence tends to point." You. Don't. Know. Shit. You're a 4 year old drawing lines in your own pile of shit because you think it's funny.

The media area was deemed obsolete because we don't have the LHN anymore, and weekly broadcasts aren't a thing. And you need to understand something, let me highlight your post:

"They're putting in more suites for even more expensive seating." That's right. They're putting in "suites." The gray seats aren't suites. They're SEZ seats. Suites are the big 10 million dollar boxes, the Loge Suites, and the Living Room style suites. That's the expensive seating. That's what they're building. Because the demand is for the high end shit. Not the gray seats, where people have to walk up and down flights of stairs to get from their club to their seats.

You're so dense you can't even see the stupidity of your own post. "The stadium is completely sold out and we're at record ticket sales." You're right. Does that mean you think the stadium was at 100% capacity last weekend EXCEPT for those pesky gray seats? Is the stadium at 100% capacity for all of our shitty non conference games? It's never half empty?

Here's a stubhub map for tickets for UTEP. Do you think those gray seats will all be filled?

Here's Sam Houston. Do you think it's going to be full, and there's a line of secondary people willing to pay over 800 dollars per ticket to sit there?

You can't even answer any of my specific points, you just say "Hurr durr we're popular people should want to sit there." People pay money to sit there. They just don't fucking go to all the games, LIKE VERY OTHER FUCKING FAN. You only give a shit because you see empty seats during extra points.

I’d say it would be more full if the tickets offered for upstairs seats only were reasonably priced and not tied to the club just as every seat in the lower bowls are generally full regardless of opponent because their not as expensive . But never the less the people who have those seats will be in the club regardless if it was SHSU or Ohio St.

"I'd guess that.." Because you don't know shit. You're guessing. Here's 2 facts in response to your dumb post:

1.) Without the club, the AD woudln't have been able to raise millions of dollars to help fund the entire SEZ project, now would they have million(s) of dollars of recurring revenue every single year for people re-upping for their seats.

2.) You're full of shit. I've been at almost all the big home games in the SEZ. Alabama. GA and Clemson last year. Those seats are almost always busting for big games against big opponents. Just like the rest of the stadium.

Why aren't you so insistent and rabid about empty seats elsewhere in the stadium?

1) they’d still have that revenue because those people would still pay for club access and field access - being able to be on field is the biggest perk here

why are you so insistent and rabid about empty seats in this part of the stadium?

I doubt that either the seat ticket, or club access alone, without being attached to the other, is worth more than half of what the donation level is for both together. At least in the eyes of this category of donor

They fucked it up at the beginning.  I've said it before but what they should have done is set it with field club access + tickets disbursed within Section 1 and 2 with a tunnel from the field club to west concourse with pass through back and forth.  Seats would be intermittent instead of 1 large block so would not be noticeable on TV.  This was effectively the set up for the USC field club back in 2017.   We had the option to go sit in random seats in the stands if we elected.

It would have been a very simple solution but that ship has sailed.   Not only because Section 1 and 2 sold out but they would have needed to implement a tunnel at the construction phase.

You are arguing with one of the worst posters on this site LOL.   Nobody pays attention to his worthless opinions. Not worth the effort.

Why are YOU so rabid about the empty seats at the stadium?

I'm starting to believe you ARE a forklift operator. People bought the RIGHT to buy those season tickets every season, by stroking a huge check. You're now saying the Athletic department, despite entering into an agreement with a booster who has money and supports the athletic program, that they either:

A) Go against that contract and take away their season tickets and say "Stay in this club on the field with barely any field visibility." Sorry about the money you paid us in advance and violating the contract. Please don't take away any other AD support and NIL."

B) Re-Sell those tickets to someone with some kind of requirement that they show up to every game, which is not something that exists for ANY other season ticket for UT season ticketholders.

That's your plan?

You don't think I know who this idiot is?

The fact of the matter he wasn't the only person expressing the "this is embarrassing" shit on this thread and others over time, so I'm going to take the opportunity to respond to him and every other short-sighted fucking slack-jaw in detail as to why their bitching is stupid as fuck.

I'd like to know why they have different demands of the people in the SEZ that don't exist for any other season ticket holder in the stadium? Is it just some kind of Eat The Rich thing? Personally, I'd like to do more to encourage our well-heeled alum to support the program and NIL.

First, to those fucking idiots bitching about empty seats, is your position that we shouldn't have built the entire south endzone project because we wouldn't be able to force season ticket holders to show up to make the stadium look full for shitty opponents in shitty weather? We should have just scrapped the entire thing, because in retrospect the optics look "terrible?"

People in the SEZ have whatever right to do with the tickets they bought. Sure, I think it looks shitty on TV when the seats are empty, but I’m a poor so nobody gives a fuck what I think. Don’t clutch your pearls when I say this, but I think the SEZ would still look shitty even if it was maxed out with asses in every seat. The SEZ represents the Disneyfication of college football in Austin. But it’s acceptable because it brought in mega money from donors to build all the state of the art shit that our players and staff need for success.

My preference would have been to close the bowl like the NEZ side, but I have to settle for what the SEZ is because rich people who have dumped millions into the school and NIL want a place to socialize inside with food and drinks on gameday. Business is business and money talks. The gigantic blaring screen in the SEZ constantly reminds us of that.

This is a relatively fair post. I mean, if you want to be an old man shaking his fists at clouds, by all means, this site and this country and this planet are full of them. At least you acknowledge that it had a purpose, which was to bring money and facilities into the program that the team needs to be successful. That's more than some people acknowledge.

For what it's worth, there were literally architectural reasons that the bowl couldn't be closed completely and that technically the SEZ is not connected to the rest of the stadium. Closing in the bowl, in no world, was ever an option. You could have tried to match the look and feel, sure, I guess. But that doesn't raise any kind of special money needed for the actual facilities and team resources aspect that was truly the goal of the whole project. It's just more bowl seating.

And additionally, for what it's worth, UT's campus is not that big and it's surrounded by a pretty big city. There just aren't a lot of spaces where we can put things when we want to expand. When we have the football indoor facility that is being built now, we'll have a centrally located area of campus that will treat and handle all of our student athletes needs. That wasn't easy to pull off. Sometimes you have to make do with what you have, and I think we've done a pretty decent job of checking all the boxes, whether you hate the Disneyfication or not. I could have done without the longhorn outline, personally.
