Don't torture yourself with peanut beers.

Or IPAs for that matter.

I've no desire to try a peanut beer. Haven't totally ruled out IPA's, but the positive hit rate has been low for me. I generally haven't had good luck with unconventional ingredient or fruity beers, but not opposed to trying some. Pecan might be worth a shot, for instance. I tried Shiner Prickly Pear and wasn't impressed. Some years back I tried Shiner Wicked Ram IPA from one of their sampler 6-packs and liked it. They discontinued it -- go figure.

I've been tempted to try Abita Amber, but frankly I'm unwilling to pay the premium they charge over local craft brewers. I don't mind paying more for more expensive to brew craft beers, like Commissar or a Triple. Likewise for German, Belgian, UK or Czech beers, but not going to do it for an amber lager from hop, skip and a jump away Louisiana.

Founders - Porter, 6.5% Alc., 👍

Have posted this combo before, but damn if it wasn't worth a revisit.

MyFitnessPal need not apply, taste buds front and center.

Double meat w/cheese & mustard, grilled onions & mushrooms, pickled jalapenos, lettuce, tomatoes

Holy fuck. Real Ale's Hop Sprocket ---- mundane and a-throw-in-to-your-Real-Ale-12-pack as it might be ---- is a righteous hazy IPA.  It's better than their Fresh Kicks, and hazier. It's like drinking a super cloudy Hefe Weizen.

I'm in love.  It needs more respect here.

512 Pecan Porter is delicious.  One of the 7 best beers from Austin/Central Texas breweries.
